🇹🇷Turkish Seljuk Ephesus Amphitheater Ancient Ruins Tour
🇹🇷Traveling to the ancient city of Ephesus in Seljuk, Turkey -
📍Grand Circular Theater
Built in the 3rd century BC, the Grand Circular Theater can accommodate up to 25,000 people,
and many important meetings and performances were held.
The Circular Theater is also mentioned in the Bible.
When the Apostle Paul was doing missionary work in Ephesus,
he had a heated debate with idolaters in this theater.
The Ephesus mentioned in the Bible is the current Ephesus.
It is a city that cannot be left out in the history of early Christianity,
and it is one of the places where many Christians come for pilgrimage.
I felt the gap between the rich and poor in the Roman Empire inside the Circular Theater.
The front steps near the stage were where the upper class sat,
and they were made very elaborately and meticulously, so they are still well preserved. However, as I went up to the back, the stairs where the common people sat were broken and in a mess. It is said that the structure is designed to make the sound resonate loudly all the way to the top of the theater even without a microphone, which makes me feel amazed all over again. I heard that they still hold performances as events sometimes.
📍Odeon Amphitheater
It is much smaller than the Grand Amphitheater and can accommodate about 1,400 people. It definitely felt relatively small since I saw the Grand Theater first, so it was less magnificent.
It is said that it was used as a place for the Council of Elders or when foreign delegations came.
It was interesting that the purpose of the same theater changed depending on the location or size, whether it was in the past or now.

🇹🇷Turkiye Selcuk Ephesus Ancient City Kuretes Street Ruins Tour
🇹🇷Traveling to Ephesus, Selcuk, Turkey -
📍Kuretes Street
The long Kuretes Street in Ephesus
You can see various ruins.
If you've seen Greco-Roman mythology, you'll be familiar with some of the names.
The Gate of Hercules, the goddess of victory Nike, the Fountain of Trajan, the Temple of Hadrian, etc...
Since each ruin has a different story, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with it to some extent beforehand.
It's much, much more!!! fun to appreciate than just looking at it without any knowledge.
I sat at the Gate of Hercules at the end of the street and looked down, imagining the old Ephesus.
What did the people who filled this street look like in the prosperous Ephesus?
That was the moment when I thought that I made the right choice to travel to Selcuk!
Highly recommended as a travel destination in Turkey!!!

🇹🇷Turkiye Seljuk Ephesus Celsus Library Ancient Ruins Tour
🇹🇷Turkiye Seljuk Ephesus Travel -
📍Celsus Library
Another place that is breathtaking after the amphitheater.
It was built in the 2nd century AD to honor Celsus, the son of Celsus, the governor of the Roman Empire.
There are four statues of goddesses in front of the Celsus Library,
each symbolizing wisdom, judgment, learning, and virtue.
The original is said to be on display at a museum in Austria.
There is a story that Austria also participated in the excavation of the Celsus Library, so they claimed the right to take the original....
Although it lost much of its original appearance due to the earthquake,
the front of the library is still well preserved.
Even if only the front part remained, it would have been called one of the world's three greatest libraries. I wonder how wonderful it would have been if it had been preserved as it was.
Among the numerous ruins of Ephesus, the Celsus Library is the one that is particularly memorable!

🇹🇷Visiting the ruins of the ancient city of Ephesus in Seljuk, Turkey
The reason I came to travel to Selcuk in Turkey is!
To see Ephesus.
It is a commemorative city where you can see various buildings from the Roman Empire era as an ancient Greek colonial site.
The ruins of Ephesus still remain in Selcuk, so many tourists
come here, and in 2015, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
They say that excavation work is still in progress.
Ephesus, which I visited in person, was disappointing even after seeing it for half a day,
but even then, only about 18% of the old city was excavated,
so I couldn't even guess how huge it was!
From famous ruins to ruins I've never seen before...it's like looking at a textbook...ㅎㅎ
If you're traveling to Turkey, you should definitely visit it!

🇹🇷Turkish Seljuk Giant Castle Ayasuluk Fortress
A large fortress on a hill that serves as the center of the city of Selcuk, Turkey, is the Ayasuluk Fortress.
It is a fortress that has been firmly protecting this place since the Byzantine Empire.
Inside the fortress, there are ruined Islamic mosques, churches used as water storage facilities, and houses.
It is said that before the fortress was built, the Apostle John sat on this hill and wrote the Gospel of John in the Bible.
Since it is in the middle of the town, it is easily accessible even if you don't go there, so I recommend visiting if you are traveling to Selcuk.
Situated on a high hill, the view of the town from here is beautiful, and it is a very cool place with the blue sky!

🇹🇷Turkish Selcuk Sirince Village Fairytale-like Beautiful Tourist Attraction Recommendation
The Turkish Sirince village was formed in the 15th century when Greek slaves living in Ephesus settled here after being liberated.
People called this village, where foreign slaves gathered and lived in hiding, Chirkinje: a dirty and stinking place.
Later, the name of the village was changed to Sirince, which means joy, but its painful history will not change.
However, from the perspective of a tourist, Sirince village felt like a small fairy tale village in a very peaceful and beautiful forest.
There are many shops selling souvenirs, so it is good for shopping and there are many things to see.
Sirince village is famous for its fruit wines, especially Oddi wine!
The price is not expensive and the alcohol content is not high, so it is light and delicious.
You can buy it after tasting various kinds, and it is good to buy it as a souvenir because it has the Sirince brand.
There is a dolmus from the Selcuk bus terminal to Sirince, so it is a good nearby travel destination for a light visit!

If you want to see the Roman era, how about here?
Ephesus (Ephesus) with Roman ruins
From Selcuk Otogar, take a dolmus (12 lira one way).
It's good because it's close.
However, the dolmus departs only when someone is in it.
The earlier you go in the morning, the fewer tourists there are.
The Celsus Library is the most beautiful!
Admission fee 200 lira, take a picture and come back 💘
