A Guide to Hiking the Kalalau Trail: Na Pali Coast’s Crown Jewel
#alohaspirit #hawaii
A Guide to Hiking the Kalalau Trail: Na Pali Coast’s Crown Jewel
The Kalalau Trail on Kauai’s Na Pali Coast is more than just a hike—it’s a journey through some of Hawaii’s most jaw-dropping scenery. This iconic 11-mile trail (22 miles round trip) takes you along rugged cliffs, lush valleys, and pristine beaches, delivering views that will leave you speechless.
Start Smart
The trail begins at Ke’e Beach and immediately sets the tone with steep inclines and breathtaking ocean vistas. Permits are required if you plan to hike beyond Hanakapi’ai Beach or camp at Kalalau Beach. Be prepared—this trail is as challenging as it is beautiful. Wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, and pack light but smart (think snacks, sunscreen, and a rain jacket).
The First Leg: Hanakapi’ai Beach
For those not up for the full trail, the 4-mile round trip to Hanakapi’ai Beach is a fantastic option. The trail winds through lush forests and offers stunning views of the coast. At the beach, take in the beauty but resist swimming—currents here are dangerous.
The Full Adventure
If you’re going all the way to Kalalau Beach, you’re in for a wild ride. The trail gets steeper and narrower, with sections like “Crawlers Ledge” testing your nerves. But the reward? The serene, secluded paradise of Kalalau Beach, surrounded by towering cliffs and turquoise waters.
The Kalalau Trail is a challenging but unforgettable experience for any adventurer. It’s raw Hawaii at its finest, where every step is worth the effort!
Why Hawaii is the Ultimate Sunset Spot 🌅
#magicalxmastrip #hawaii #usa
If you’re a sunset chaser, Hawaii should be at the top of your list. The islands offer some of the most breathtaking sunsets you’ll ever witness, and here’s why:
1. Perfect Location
Hawaii’s location in the middle of the Pacific Ocean means you get unobstructed views of the sun setting over the water. Whether you’re on Oahu, Maui, or the Big Island, you’ll experience the sun dipping below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant oranges, pinks, and purples. Every evening feels like a personal light show, and it’s impossible not to be mesmerized.
2. Diverse Backdrops
Hawaii’s landscapes provide endless sunset possibilities. You can enjoy a dramatic sunset from the black sands of Punalu’u Beach or watch the golden glow from a mountaintop like Haleakalā on Maui. Want palm trees? Head to Waikiki Beach or Lanikai on Oahu, where palm silhouettes dance against the colorful sky. Each location offers a unique vibe, but all are spectacular in their own way.
3. A Moment of Serenity
Sunset in Hawaii isn’t just about the view—it’s an experience. The gentle island breeze, the sound of waves crashing, and the warm glow of the sun all combine to create the perfect moment of peace and reflection. Whether you’re watching it with friends, family, or just by yourself, you’ll feel connected to the island’s natural beauty.
So, if you want to see sunsets that leave you in awe, Hawaii is the place to be. The islands serve up the best sunsets, day after day! 🌅
🎅🏼Santa’s Top 3 Spots for a Sunset in Oahu! Ho Ho Ho!
#magicalxmastrip #hawaii #oahu
1. Waikiki Beach
Oh, my jolly elves, Waikiki Beach is like the North Pole’s version of sunset magic—but with sand instead of snow! Picture this: the sky turning golden and pink while Diamond Head stands proudly in the distance. Mrs. Claus would call it a postcard-perfect moment! Grab a seat on the sand, wiggle your toes, and let the tropical breeze tickle your cheeks.
2. Tantalus Lookout (Pu’u Ualaka’a State Park)
Ho Ho Holy moly, the view from here is spectacular! At Tantalus Lookout, you get a bird’s-eye view of Honolulu with the sun painting the horizon in fiery hues. It’s so peaceful, even my reindeer would stop to enjoy the view! As the city lights start to twinkle, you might just think it’s Christmas all over again. Don’t forget to bring a cozy sweater—it can get as brisk as the sleigh ride here!
3. Kaena Point
For the adventurers on my nice list, Kaena Point is a gift straight from Mother Nature! This remote spot at Oahu’s westernmost edge offers sunsets so magical, even Rudolph would be in awe. The waves crash, the colors dazzle, and the horizon stretches as far as the eye can see. It’s pure Christmas spirit, Hawaiian style!
So pack up your sack of snacks, bring a blanket, and chase those Oahu sunsets, my friends. You’ll treasure the memories as much as I love milk and cookies! 🌅 Ho ho ho!

Ho ho ho! If there’s one place that gets me feeling extra jolly, it’s Oahu, my dear friends! Here’s why this island is on my “Nice List” year after year:
1. Adventure for the Naughty and Nice!
Whether you’ve been extra good or a little mischievous, Oahu’s got something for everyone! If you’re the adventurous type, surf the big waves on the North Shore, or take a hike up Diamond Head—the views are simply magical! But if you prefer some peace and quiet (like me after a long sleigh ride), you can relax on the soft sand at Waikiki Beach or enjoy the calm waters of Lanikai.
2. Culture and History That Warm Your Heart

So, whether you’re naughty or nice, Oahu is sure to bring you holiday cheer all year long! Ho ho ho!
Aloha Time!
#travellerswonderland
I often hear that people didn't enjoy Waikiki Beach because of the crowds. As a little known secret, there's still a great way to enjoy this pristine stretch of beach!
If you follow the shore towards Diamond head, you will find things are much quieter the closer you get to the Aquarium. I grew up in Oahu and this area of the beach has always been my favorite.
It's very quiet, less crowded, and far more comfortable for single beach goers!
Next time you find yourself in Waikiki, head down to Queen Kapiolani Park area and enjoy the peace of Hawaiian nature.

ALOHA! HAWAII- WELCOME TO PARADISE !
Hawaï!! Aloha to everyone who is dreaming of visiting these unique islands, what are you waiting for? People say that islands of Hawaii are true paradise and they are not wrong, just look at the photos we took while spending our holidays there this winter.
There are so many things you can do: hike to a secret beach and go skinny dipping, enjoy the cultural music and dance, learn how to surf or dive, try lots of delicious food and, of course, enjoy the ocean and lazy sunbathing at one of the many wonderful resorts.
From the minute you arrive you feel the how relax everyone is and you instantaneously know - this will be one of the most memorable trips in your life.
From the practical side: hopping between the islands is very easy and inexpensive. There are multiple flight connections available each day and the distances are relatively short.
Honolulu is a very vibrant city with lots of yummy restaurants and fun activities for all ages. I would definitely recommend planning 2-3 days in Hawaiian’s beautiful capital to complete the experience.

Hawaii - The Enchanting Island
Recently, I went on a trip to Hawaii. The blue sea, white sandy beaches, and music that enriches the soul. This time, I want to share such a wonderful experience.
Adventure at Diamond Head
The first place I visited was Diamond Head, the symbol of Oahu. As I progressed along the hiking trail, the exhilaration of passing through the green tunnel was indescribable. Upon reaching the summit, the beautiful Waikiki Beach spread out below, and it was a moment that took my breath away. Exercising with this view was the best!
Moments at Kailua Beach
Next, I headed to Kailua. This is a perfect beach with gentle waves and white sandy shores. I enjoyed snorkeling with friends and got to interact with colorful tropical fish. While savoring a local plate lunch, we had a relaxing time.
Jazz Night at Blue Note
At night, I went to Blue Note in Waikiki. Here, you can enjoy live jazz performances. With delicious food and passionate performances by the artists, my heart danced. It was a precious time where I felt happy surrounded by music.
Sunset at Waikiki Beach
And the sunset at Waikiki Beach was the best. The beauty of the sky dyed in orange and pink, reflecting on the sea, is beyond words. Spending luxurious moments on the tranquil beach was deeply etched in my heart.
Summary: The Charm of Hawaii
This trip to Hawaii was a wonderful experience that healed my heart with the beauty of nature and music. There are many places that make me want to visit again, and the charm of Hawaii is endless. I can't wait for the next adventure!
The beautiful island - Maui
A 4-day Maui trip offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
On Day 1, explore Ka’anapali Beach and Lahaina’s historic town.
Day 2 takes you along the scenic Road to Hana, with stops at waterfalls and black sand beaches.
Day 3, experience the sunrise at Haleakalā National Park and visit Upcountry Maui’s lavender farms and charming towns.
On Day 4, snorkel at Molokini Crater and relax on Wailea Beach. End your trip with a traditional Hawaiian luau, enjoying music, hula dancing, and local cuisine.
Maui offers a variety of trip options, whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or cultural experiences. Here are some popular types of trips in Maui:
1. Beach and Relaxation Trip
Maui’s beaches are legendary. Spend your days lounging on golden sands like Ka’anapali, Wailea, or the secluded Makena Beach. Enjoy snorkeling, paddleboarding, or simply soaking in the sun. Many luxury resorts and spas in West and South Maui offer pampering treatments with ocean views.
2. Adventure Trip
For thrill-seekers, Maui is an outdoor playground. Start with the Road to Hana, a winding journey along the island’s lush eastern coast, filled with waterfalls, black sand beaches, and hiking trails. Explore the volcanic landscapes of Haleakalā National Park, either by hiking the crater or catching a sunrise from the summit. Water activities like snorkeling at Molokini Crater, surfing in Paia, or zip-lining over tropical forests add extra excitement.
3. Cultural & Historical Trip
Immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture by visiting historic Lahaina Town, once a bustling whaling village, now home to art galleries, shops, and museums. Attend a traditional luau to experience Polynesian music, hula, and feasts. Visit the Baldwin Home Museum or Hale Pa’i to learn more about Maui’s history. You can also explore sacred sites like the Iao Valley and the Ka’ahumanu Church.
4. Nature & Eco-Tourism Trip
Maui is a nature lover’s paradise. Take eco-tours through rainforests, explore Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, or go whale-watching between December and April when humpback whales migrate to the island’s warm waters. Visit Wai’anapanapa State Park to walk on the black sand beaches and hike through lava tubes. You can also take an eco-friendly tour of Maui’s Upcountry farms, learning about sustainable agriculture practices.
5. Family-Friendly Trip
Maui has plenty of family-friendly activities. Visit the Maui Ocean Center to learn about marine life, enjoy a day at the Maui Tropical Plantation, or relax at beaches with gentle waves, like Kamaole Beach Park. Families can also explore easy hiking trails like Twin Falls and take kid-friendly snorkeling tours to see colorful fish and turtles.
With its diverse landscapes, rich history, and endless activities, Maui caters to every type of traveler, offering unforgettable experiences whether you’re relaxing on a beach or hiking volcanic craters.

The Enchanting Scenery of Kona, Hawaii
For my first trip to Hawaii, I naturally wanted a more chill itinerary. So I chose the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kona, as Holiday Inn is a chain hotel group, which gives a certain level of assurance. Upon arrival, the staff were already very friendly. Although we couldn't check in early, they allowed us to store our luggage. Due to the rooms being fully booked, we couldn't reserve the same room type for two nights. Despite this, the staff ultimately managed to let us stay in the same room for both nights, which was very considerate! The hotel included breakfast with the room. Although the taste was average, it was already included in the room rate! The hotel provided a gym and a swimming pool! Guests could use them at any time. Although public transportation in Hawaii isn't very convenient, there are many souvenir shops and restaurants near the hotel, so the location is quite good! A 15-minute walk will get you to Walmart, which is convenient. Looking at the Hawaiian sunshine and beach scenery, all worries seemed to disappear.
Overall, Hawaii is definitely a travel destination worth visiting for everyone!

The overwhelming power of nature 🌿🌸🌊
Akaka Falls State Park
Big island in Hawaii is a breathtaking place, the scenery is stunning and you get an overwhelming sense of how powerful nature is. The Akaka falls state park is an amazing opporunity to see the scale and size of the water that flows through big Island, with huge waterfalls, rivers and rapids.
You are able to walk to a really tall waterfall and bask in it’s glory, you can stand very close and cover yourself in the spray to cool down from the Hawaiian heat. Then you can follow the flow of the water down the river, through the rapids and out into the ocean.
Along the way you are surrounded by lush greenery and all the nature that it contains, you will see plenty of beautiful flowers, fascinating animals and a lot of fresh fruit!
It made me feel so small and insignificant to see just how powerful all this water is, and to see how consistent it all is

The beauty of the pacific
The Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park is a historical site with stunning views. An ancient burial site for the original Hawaiian monarchy, it’s a sacred and mysterious area.
Historically people who had broken ancient Hawaiian laws could escape here to seek refuge from persecution. Their combined spirits and the power of the sea are meant to offer further protection.
There is beautiful scenery, fascinating wooden carvings and a lot of nature. I sat on some rocks near the sea and within a few minutes many sea turtles had emerged, Scouring the shore for food.
It was such a peaceful place, you can definitely feel the presence of the past there with you. Well worth a stop if you’re travelling around the big island. #hawaii #bigisland #hawaiitourism #history

Bukit Lawang is a village in Northern Sumatra 96km northwest of Medan. The village is situated on the banks of the Bohorok River surrounded by the Gunning Leuser National Park.
The village is a great place to visit to be surrounded by nature and absorb the scenery.
Bukit Lawang used to be home to a rehabilitation centre that cared for and released captive orang-utans to the wild.
The centre has been closed for some time but many semi wild females remain in the jungle near Bukit Lawang often nursing young.

Hawaii native art and culture
Here at the US Polynesian Cultura Centre, we got to learn about the history, art and culture of the Polynesians, super cool! They helped us draw temporary tattoos with their tribal symbols on our forearms and performed their native dances for the audiences. What an eye-opening and educational experience.
My overall rating of the experience: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heavenly sea🌊🐠
A white sand beach and sandbar off the coast of Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii ✨ We'll go to the heavenly sea by boat!
I had a local friend, so he took us on a boat 🛥
There are many tours, so many people book a tour and go!
The pure white sand beach spreads out all over, and the sea is soda blue 💎 There are shallow areas and deep areas where you can snorkel! You can see fish, pufferfish, and if you're lucky, turtles! !
It's a view you should see at least once when you come to Hawaii! Please go and see it ♡

One of the most popular hikes in Honolulu!
KoKo Crater Railway Trailhead (or jsut the Koko Head for short) is a killer hike. It is a challenging but popular hike that’s great for a workout. It takes about one hour to complete but you may need to take several breaks on your way up since it’s quite steep. There are more than 1000 stairs which people call the stairs of doom. It leads up to an abandoned site from where you can see a panoramic view of Honolulu and see the views over Portlock Peninsula. The views are really worth. it’s absolutely stunning, but do wear a good pair of sneakers because the stairs are old and some are broken so you need to be careful. also you will feel super proud of yourself when you make it up there! good luck!

Stroll in a royal garden
A few minutes from Waikiki beach you can enjoy a beautiful park that was originally designed for a queen. The Queen Kapi’olani Garden has beautiful colorful trees, and flowers. My favorite is the white hibiscus.
Definitely, a nice green space to enjoy a takeaway or shadow, more quietly than the crowded beach. You might take a small detour here if you are on your way/coming back from Diamond Head crater.

Diamond Head Crater park
Perfect one-day trip in Honolulu! The Diamond Head Crater, or Lē’ahi, is a volcanic cone located few minutes from Waikiki beach in Oahu. This crater is part of a system of cones and vents, known as Honolulu volcanic series, much younger that the Ko’olau range. This crater was the first military reservation in Hawaii, named Fort Ruger. Since 1986, has been a highly visited natural landmark.
You need to book in advance to enter the park area, and only access is through the tunnel. Within the park, it’s a very short hike (~20 minutes), but the view totally worth it. Don’t forget a cap and sunblock, you get easily sunburn here.

Hiking in Hawaii 🤙🏽
Adventure calls… hiking our way around Hawaii 🥾🥾
Manoa Falls trail was a good hour long depending on how many stops/breaks you take. some parts get steep, not bad if you’re a beginner. just watch your step, walking through this enchanted forest was magical ✨
Pictures are a few out stops we made, look at that thrown!!! 🤩🤩
Trail leads you to this waterfall 😍
There’s a path that goes down to get a little closer from below the water fall but definitely steep to go down to. Must see on your trip to Hawaii 🌺

Jalapeño burger and jalapeño beer
During my conference, I looked for good options near the near the Hawaiian Convention Center. Waikiki Brewing Co was a nice option to try. Always crowded, has a nice ambience for brunch, lunch, dinner and/or a
promising happy hour. Lot of options in craft beer, jalapeño beer was something unexpected, and tasty.
Few options for burgers sounded good, but blue cheese burger was definitely the best decision I did.
I wanted a coffee after my meal, but the option was not really available. Nevertheless, quite happy with this visit.

Delicious Thai food by the beach
Located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Noi has one of the best Thai food I tried in the Waikiki area. Green curry was my favorite by far. They offer a good variety of dishes and drinks, served in cute presentations. They have a special lunch menu with better prices, and options to taste several dishes on one sit. Not so good to visit as single customer.

Best cheesecakes in Waikiki
Located in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, The Cheesecake Factory is a great option if you crave for a lot of food and affordable prices. I visited the same day of my return flight and deeply regret not finding this spot during my vacation week. My mushroom burger was huge, and tasty. I wanted an ice coffee with milk, and they kindly added the milk on the side (as they don’t offer this drink) without extra charge. Courtesy bread was also nice. Took my cheesecake home, as I was so full after my meal, and was simply delicious.
