Fantastic
When I visited them the first time, it was 17:00 and I was the only person there. The master was a very gentleman, and I received an iced coffee + chiffon cake set. It tasted good enough for me to come back. The atmosphere of the store is very nice, and I like the European-style plate interior.
It has an antique feel and the relaxing jazz music coming from the Bose speakers makes you feel good! It is a place run by a unique and wonderful master alone. There are no flashy techniques, but it feels like it is faithful to the basics. The toast is topped with honey-soaked lemon and homemade whipped cream and goes well with coffee.

Sleek
Coffee’s better, interior is newer, cleaner & cooler (designed by an architect). The interior takes a minimalist approach with white and natural wood tones, the staff are highly professional, stylish, and very friendly. The coffee is quite delightful too. During the holiday season I do recommend trying the Holiday Blend, but both the drip options and espresso options are quite delightful.
They also offer a small assortment of baked goods, which are of a similarly high caliber as the coffee. The staff are friendly, & when I had wifi trouble, they made an extra effort to help me.

Cheesecake Heaven
Located next to the sanommiya station this place was one of our best finds. We were put up only two blocks from here so it needed no extra effort. During a two night stay, we ended up eating here thrice and that too mostly varieties of Cheesecake.
There is something so different about this place. Same can be said about whole of Japan but this was the quietest of places I visited. And they had all.these books that Japanese customers looked into. I had no idea what it was but they all looked through them carefully. If you like the idea of Cheesecake and you are in kobe, you should definitely visit this one.

The better base for exploring
#japantrip
So we had done Osaka and Kyoto several times as our base to get around. I mean once you have the right passes or transport sorted. It doesn't make a lot of difference. Having said so, Kobe has turned out to be a refreshing pick.
Many people don't consider it or when they do it's merely a day trip. But once you look closely there is certainly plenty to do, see and eat. The food and the night life in kobe are particularly pleasant. Even without them, should you be considering a visit to himeji castle or other places in that direction. Staying in Kobe is far more convenient than Osaka or Kyoto. #japantrip #kobe #food #shinkansen #holiday
The Enchanting Shinnyo-en Temple in Kobe, Japan ⛩️🇯🇵
Located in the Ikutacho area of Kobe, the Shinnyo-en temple is about a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station. As you enter the first gate there are some steep stairs leading up to the main temple. At the top you are greeted by a small and secluded temple and an incredible view of the city of Kobe. It’s a perfect photo opportunity with views of the city and often a very quiet temple 📸

A beautiful day at the Port of Kobe
The Port of Kobe is among the leading International trading ports in Japan. It is the fourth busiest port in the country. It has a popular amusement park as well.
The Port of Kobe was officially opened in 1868. Kobe Port Tower was completed in 1963.
The port has a beautiful landscape overlooking the Rokko Mountains. Locals and tourists meet up and hang out in the area. I heard it is one of the favorite dating places of young couples in Kobe 🙊
Who do you want to go here with? 🤔

Great place for Kobe Beef Steak - Merikan Hatoba
Merikan Steak and Grill is a steak house serving the famous Kobe beef. It is located in the Motomachidori shopping district but on a side street, so it is necessary to look carefully to reach the place. It is a small restaurant with less than 20 seats and reservation in advance is highly recommended.
Merikan Hatoba serves only A5 Kobe beef, so the few sets on the menu basically offers the beef by weight - ie 100g, 150g or 200g.
The chef managed the kitchen by himself, while another waitress served customers. We ordered the sets and within 15 minutes the beef steaks were ready! Without a word, we all dove right into our delicious and juicy meal!
When the chef is free , he would even come out and take photos with his customers! This is a cozy little place full of character that we would definitely want to go back!

1 Chome-3-14 Motomachidori, Chuo Ward, Kobe, Hyogo 650-0022, Japan

Must go to this Starbucks in Kobe Japan
This Starbucks is located near the Kobe port and is surrounded by a few branded hotels and two big shopping malls. My friend and I went there on foot, and while we were on our way, we saw the beautiful scenery of the city with a sea view. This Starbucks has two levels: the first level is the order and pickup area with a few tables and chairs, and the second level has a balcony where you can watch the sun set. They provide an English menu and well-spoken English-speaking staff, so we have no problem communicating with them. After ordering, we sat outside so we could enjoy the great view of the park and sea. Because of the view, we totally forgot our orders, but thankfully the staff bought them for us. It was so heartwarming, and the staff even complimented our beautiful nails. When it's time for the sun to set, we go to the second floor's balcony to watch the sunset. That was the best thing we have ever seen. I really do recommend this Starbucks to you all, and I hope you will enjoy it. If you're there, please comment below, and I'd love to hear your experience.

Coffee in Sannomiya
Excelsior Caffee is located In the middle of the shopping street in Sannomiya , Kobe. It is one of the larger coffee places and has three levels of seats. It opens early ( as many in the area opens after 10 or even 11am) so it’s perfect if you need to have a quick breakfast before starting your journey.
We went there at 830 am and it was quite busy, but the place was cleared by 915 as everyone was ready to get to work. Excelsior Caffe offers simple morning breakfast sets - including waffles, ham sandwiches, croque- monsieur or toast with hot drinks at just about ¥500. The food is well prepared and taste good !
I would recommend this place as it is convenient and has plenty of seats in the middle of Sannomiya Shopping street.

A mix of Western and Japanese Culture
Kobe is a port city with vibrant culture☺️ It is a stylish city in Western Japan. It is very popular for its Kobe beef and for shopping along its port. It is located across the bay from Osaka, and the capital city of Hyogo prefecture.
We went to Kobe Oji Zoo and the bay area. It's a shame we didn't try the Kobe beef 🥺 Maybe we should visit again 🤗

thought we got lost in the mountains of Rokko, only to realize we were led to find this beautiful hidden falls.
thank you to the ojisan and obasan that helped us through our trek. we could have gotten really lost because no translations were written in the signs.

Kobe Shushinkan
First destination of the day for my Day 2 of Kobe sake breweries tour. Saw these two ladies walking out with a sakelee softserve cone and I knew I had to get it too even in this winter weather! This is also a 3-in-1 place with a sake brewery, a souvenir shop and a restaurant. Limited by the time, I only bought a few items and of course the sakelee softserve is not to be missed! Also awesome with the cold weather so it doesn't melt fast. Able to take a few photos and not melt.

Sawanotsuru Sake Museum(Kobe)
Back to Kobe for the second part of my sake breweries tour. This is Day 2 of exploration which I went solo. Day 1 was the first 3 breweries that I visited last year to buy some goodies I want to bring back. This one was one of the furthest of the few breweries in the area so quite difficult to visit all 6-7 of them at once since they close early in the evening too. Anyways, nice small shop. Recommendations of the day were umeshu and nama genshu. Some Valentine's chocolates too.

Great scenic views!
Great place with amazing views over Kobe. It was a huge experience to visit one of the largest garden in Japan.
Start the journey by taking a cable car up to the top. I’m not afraid of heights, so can still take it easy. Worth it to get the amazing view!
Got some really nice shops up there. I aslo bought a premium soft vanilla ice cream with a fantastic taste!
Parking 🚗: Prefer walking on the streets. More adventurous!

Entry Fees 🎟: Around RM 60 for an adult/RM30 for a child.

Multicultural Seaside City
Kobe is a relaxing city that has different feel to it. It reminds you somewhat of being overseas and not in Japan, albeit with all the benefits of Japan! You'll find relaxing seaside promenades, a Chinatown and insightful architecture.
Kobe is a port city and warmly embraces its past by preserving several remnants of its past bustle. Starting from the seaside promenade, you'll find relaxing walks along the sea. Here you'll also find the iconic Kobe Port Tower, which stands out on the waterfront. You'll also find a reminder of the Great Hanshin earthquake which wrecked havoc in the city; there's a section of the area of how the waterfront was moved by this phenomenon.
Moving inwards you'll find Kobe Chinatown, which is a celebration of the Chinese who first settled the area. Nowadays, you'll find Chinese themed buildings and also streets lined with Sino-Japanese fusion foods. A definite must visit!
Finally, at Kitano-ko, there is a collection of foreign styled residences. You'll really feel yourself outside of Japan, but it's still nonetheless a great place to wander around.
Overall, Kobe is a great city to explore. Being right next to the sea allows countless waterfront walks. Kobe is/was a very international city and has preserved this cultural aspect.
