Trip Moments Recommendations
Step back in time visiting Zhouzhuang Ancient town
Visiting China’s number one water town was definitely a must see on my 3 day trip to Suzhou
Definitely worth the 1.5 hour trip to and from!
It was nice to have some time to take photos before everyone arrived.. my ticket was for 7.30am-12pm and though I was rushing to arrive early, most shops didn't open until around 9am so don't recommend arriving so early unless you'd like to take photos with no people around
🗓️Itinerary Scheduling: I think this could possibly be a better view/experience in the afternoon/night time if you get the chance.. And l'd say half a day there is enough time to view!
🕰️ Business Hours: 7.30am to 8pm Year round
📍 Address: No.43, Quanfu Road, Zhouzhuang Town,
Kunshan City
🚉 Metro line 4 to Tongli Station and 25 minute DiDi ride ($10-15AUD one way)
💸 Average Price P/P : $21AUD (Children and seniors free)
🍛 Food and drink: Plenty of places to eat at and drink in the town including local snacks and drinks and also sit down rest and deserts, I recommend a visit for breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner!

Jiuzhaigou: Heaven on Earth in Winter
Jiuzhaigou 🇨🇳, a World Heritage Site 🏔️
Located in the national park within the valleys of Sichuan Province, China, Jiuzhaigou is so beautiful it seems unreal, but it truly exists on Earth!
The name “Jiuzhaigou” translates to “Nine Village Valley” because, in the past, there were nine villages along the stream where Tibetan people lived.
Each month offers a different view. The picture shows November, a period between autumn and winter. Some parts have yellow leaves 🍂, while others are already covered in snow ❄️. The weather is quite cold. There are many spots in the park to visit, and each one is stunning. Let the pictures tell the story 🙂
If you're interested in this route, it's recommended to go with a tour for convenience. However, if you prefer to travel on your own, you can use the high-speed train, but you might need to transfer to another vehicle to reach the park.

Best Chinese City in Autumn
#fallfoliage
See Beijing when it turns to gold!
The Golden Gingko trees line the parkway. If you ever enjoyed jumping in leaves as a kid, this fun will continue on your next trip to Beijing, China. Plan your next fall trip to this city of ancient wonders.
The Gingko biloba tree (银杏) grows beautiful fan shaped leaves. Their shapes are unique to Asia since they are a prehistoric species. In Autumn, these leaves famously turned into gold. The leaves will stay on the trees a few weeks which make for beauty fall foliage scenes.
Where can we find these yellow leaves?
The city centre around The Palace Museum is dotted with lanes and lines of these Gingko trees. If you want a comfortable place to go for photos and leisure take my suggestion and head to Beihai Park.

Splendid day @ Splendid China Miniature Park and Folk Village
I booked this experience having no idea what to expect but with a love of Chinese culture and also so many places on my list to visit here in China the ‘see all of China in one day’ convinced me and did not disappoint!
I am a solo traveller but perfect for all! There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy and especially a good experience for kids to be immersed in the culture, (I’m sure it’s nothing like they’ve ever seen before!)
Here is a small snapshot of the miniature park and for the Folk Village, that deserves a post of its own!

Wuzhen – A Timeless Water Town
#voyagevibes
South of the Yangtze River, Wuzhen is famed as China’s most beautiful ancient water town, with scenery like an ink painting.
I had the chance to visit in June, though, unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time for a boat ride. I’m definitely coming back to experience it! With 1,000+ years of history and architecture reflecting Chinese aesthetics of “small bridges, flowing water, and old houses,” Wuzhen offers a sense of timelessness. Known as a “living fossil of ancient Eastern civilization,” it’s a place of deep cultural and historical value.
Often called the “Venice of Asia,” Wuzhen’s winding canals and stone bridges transport visitors back in time to a serene, poetic world.

Things to know before visiting the Great Wall of China 🇨🇳
Planning a trip to the Great Wall of China? Here’s everything you need to know before you go! 🇨🇳
📌 Save this video for your next trip to China and follow @passportandstamps for more Asia content 🫶
🗓️ Best time to visit: The best months to visit are between March-May and September-November when the weather is milder and the crowds are smaller. Avoid the summer months if you can; it gets HOT! We visited in September, and the weather was perfect, it was a bit chilly, but around midday, it warmed up ☀️
🎟️ Cost: The entrance fee to the Mutianyu section is ¥40 (about £5). The cable car or chairlift will cost you an extra ¥140 (£15) for a return trip. If you purchase the return ticket, you can enjoy the toboggan ride down
🚠 Cable car vs. Chairlift: The cable car is enclosed, making it perfect if you’re visiting during colder months or want a more relaxed ride. The cable car opens at 8.30 AM. The chairlift, on the other hand, is open and offers stunning panoramic views on the way up. If you want to beat the crowds, we recommend the chairlift as it opens at 7.30 AM. We were the first up to the wall, and it was amazing!!
📸 Useful tip: Arrive early! The earlier you get there, the more time you’ll have to explore and enjoy the incredible views without crowds. We took the chairlift up at 7.30 AM and had the most amazing time as no one was around until 10 AM.
🏞️ Pack some water and wear comfy shoes. You’ll definitely be doing a lot of walking. Avoid buying coffee or drinks up to the wall as they are expensive. We stopped for a coffee and regretted that we paid £5 for it 🙈

rating my accoms at Haikou (+price included) 🏡
Pic 1 - 4: 漂浮的人 (Floating)
💰 $112.76/night
💗 The prettiest accommodation I stayed in while in Haikou! I chose a room with a sea view, and the view is so beautiful OMG… The room was really spacious, and the air conditioning was very strong! The curtains were automated too, it felt like I was watching a movie every time I opened them😆 It’s a great place to relax and zone out with the stunning view—I felt so rejuvenated after staying here!!
⚡️ The location is a bit out of the way, and there aren’t many food options around, but it wasn’t a big issue for me because food delivery is so convenient and cheap!
🏡 Pic 5 - 7: 见外精品民宿 (Jianwai Boutique Hostel)
💰 $29.99/night
💗 This was located on Qilou Old Street, and this hostel went viral on xhs because of its photogenic views (pic 7). The room was small but had everything you need! Very value for money, and there are plenty of food options nearby (including a food street!)
⚡️ It felt a little bit more rundown compared to the other two hotels I stayed in, and the air conditioning was a bit weak.
🏡 Pic 8 - 10: 朗居酒店 (Langju Hotel)
💰 $52.45
💗 I chose this accom because it’s only a 3 min walk from the largest shopping mall in Haikou (Friendship Sunshine Mall)—very convenient! The stay also comes with a free snack set (pic 10) and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had in my life (pic 9). Honestly, I’d come back just for the free breakfast 🤤
⚡️ One thing I didn’t like is that they allow smokers in the hotel lobby, so there was a weird smoky smell in my room 🤢
i love all the accoms but if i have to rank them, it will goes like this:
Langju hotel>Floating>Jianwai Boutique
The breakfast at Langju was just too good HAHA

2 Full Day Itinerary in Turpan 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
When your a first timer in Xinjiang and Urumqi is your first stop then I can also recommend you to tie Turpan into your itinerary. It is so different from Urumqi where you will see green mountain. In Turpan, you will see a vast desert and massive sand mountains or rock mountains . Such a massive contrast which you will enjoy.
Day 0- Arrival in Turpan, so we just chilled and we just wandered around where our hotel was. We went to the downtown bazaar, Antique and Turpan and ate local food. Nothing much that requires a lot of energy and time.
Day 1- we rented a car and a driver to go to 5 places.
1. Flaming mountains- this is one of the top tourist spot if you search about what to see in Turpan
2. Bezeklik 1000 Buddha Caves- you will see caves of paintings and murals of Buddha here.. they are severely damaged which is quite sad.
3. Xinjiang Soil Art Museum- Wow, this stop was really our favorite and we spent so much time here.
4. Tuyuk Village- nestled in the middle of the desert , you will find a Uyghur village where apparently Islam started in China.
5. Gaochang Ruins- this is the biggest preserved ancient city ruins in Xinjiang.
Remember, every tourist spot mentioned above has entrance fees. Fees range from 40-45 per person but there are scenic areas in which you may spend more for shuttle cars or for extra activities.
Day 2- Rented a car again with a driver. These are our stops.
1. Emin Minerat (Sugong Tower) -the tower here is the oldest Islamic tower in Xinjiang. A really quiet places. There are tombs surrounding the mosques and the tower as well in different shapes.
2. Ancient tombs of Atsana- this is quite a sad place really. You will see a lot of holes in the ground which makes you realize that they are still digging up more mummies here. Some of the mummies that were dug up are displayed in Turpan Museum.
3. Karez Wells- this is such a fascinating visit. It will show you how determined the people to thrive by making a water underground channel just to live in this deserted and dry place. It is one of the 3 massive water projects in China.
4. Jiaohe Ancient City Ruins- wow! 🤩 coming to this place gave me goosebumps more than our visit in Gaochang Ruins. Jiaohe is the best preserved ancient city ruins in the world and seeing it in person is just surreal.
5. Houyun Valley- this place makes me feel like I went to Mars.
The car and the driver rate is from around 250-500 depending on how many sites you want to visit in a day.
Enjoy!

Breathtaking Wulong Day trip
🗻Wulong Day Trip 🗻
If you’re looking for an escape from bustling city life, a day trip to lush, green and historic Wulong might be just what the doctor ordered.
Technically still in Chongqing, Wulong is around a 3-4 hour drive from Chongqing city proper. We hired a private driver for the day (from taobao), but there is also a train station there which will take a fraction of the time - you may need to rely on taxis which could be inconvenient.
We went to the historical Wulong Tiansheng Three Bridges Scenic Area during the national holiday but it actually wasn’t too busy. The weather was slightly damp but it didn’t put a dampener on our day! And the mist really added to the atmosphere of the place.
We entered through Tiansheng Three Bridges Scenic Area Glass Toaotai ticket office which leads onto an overhanging class balcony where you can see the valley below! Not for the feint of heart 😅
Then we walked along the cliff edge path towards the 108m tall elevator which took us down to the valley. The walk is around 3km totally, which is a beautiful, relaxing walk on a paved walkway. The views are stunning and even though I had been here before in 2018, I found it still took my breath away!
Definitely worth a visit, if you live in Chongqing as I do, it provides a lovely break from the bustling city life #wulong #historicallandmarks #chongqing #武隆 #nationalday #nature #china #chinatravel
Ancient Tomb Visit in Turpan 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
After seeing all the mummies at the Turpan Museum, it is just very interesting to see where they were dug up. It is such a massive cemetery and they are not yet done with their project here. We only saw 3 tombs that were open to the public and some were still just a hole in the ground which is an indication that they are still in the process of digging up more.
My visit there was interesting but at the same time, I felt so bad and sad.

Sand Brewed Coffee? Have you tried one? 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
Wow 🤩! It is very interesting to see a different style on how to make coffee ☕️
So the process is like the coffee ground is place into a cup and then hot water is added. It is then dipped in the sand u til it boils! It is so fascinating to see.
The coffee taste? Well , definitely for people who love that strong kick of black coffee. The sesame seeds and the date puree around the cup help with the bitterness of the coffee. Really strong but a good experience.
Specific location: International Grand Bazaar Food Street ( it is on the opposite side if the famous International Grand Bazaar where the shopping area is )

Precious Artwork in the Middle of the Desert 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
This is Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves and it is one of the top tourist spot in Turpan. What can I say? Honestly, it is quite sad to see how severely damaged these precious painting and murals of different Buddhas.
Though the paintings are mostly damaged you could still see and imagine how grand and beautiful they used to be.
The location is beautiful nestled in the middle of the desert and a river. I have found a deeper appreciation to all three archeologists who have found this place and their efforts to still preserve what is left after everything was looted . Not all the caves are open just to set your expectations straight.
Apparently, this cave represents the start of Buddhism in China. If you are in Turpan and if you have an extra time, I can recommend to visit this place.
Length of visit: 30 minutes- 1 hour is enough
Ticket price: 40 rmb.
How to get there: we just rented a car and a driver for the entire day to visit different tourist spots in Turpan. The price depends in how long and how far are you going that day.
Enjoy 😊

Finally , I Saw the Flaming Mountains in Real Life! 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
The Flaming Mountain is huge and this is the most famous spot where all the tourists come. There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of the flaming mountain.
1. Wander around by yourself without spending extra money.
2. Take a helicopter ride for around 3 minutes - expensive but if it is what you want to experience then GO FOR IT! 😊
3. Ride a jeep or a buggy- there are a lot of four wheels vehicles there that you can rent for a limited time.
4. Take an aeroplane- Same as the helicopter
5. Ride a donkey, a horse or a camel- the price really depends on how long will you be riding them.
The scenic area where you can take all your photos is not massive at all so you can stay here as quick or as long as you like.
I like the museum before you enter the scenic area. I really appreciated that. You will learned about the scholars who walked on the silk road and did some notable jobs during their time. The story of the Journey to the West is very interesting.
Ticket price: 40 rmb ( not including all the activities inside)

Turpan’s Old Town Impression 🇨🇳
#traveldiaries
Upon wandering around this place , I am certain that this tourist place is not fully open yet to the public. The buildings are totally new and decorated with light, they look so beautiful when the night time comes. There are some shops and restaurants that are open already.
This place in Turpan will definitely attract a lot of tourists in the future as it is aesthetically built which is great for photo opportunities while wearing traditional clothing. In fact, there are already traditional rental clothing shops that are open already.
Ticket price: free
Length of visit: probably just 30 minutes just to wander around, you may want to eat your meal there as there is a nice Xinjiang restaurant right at the entrance of this place.
