Lost in Lantern Lights 🏮 ✨
This town, even tho spoked highly of, is absolutely underrated because no words can describe it! 😍
Every corner of it is unreal! I believe fairytales are made inspired by Hoi An! Absolutely magical 🪄
Hoi An is filled with lanterns and in the night streets are filled with colours and warmth. Great energy! 🥹
There is lots along amazing street foo, bars and entertainment. You can rent a bicycle and get anywhere is a short amount of time. My favourite was a ride by the rice fields. That road leads to the beach. I travelled in January so the weather was not greatest for swimming, however it was nice to have a walk and lunch there.
3-4 days are enough to go around. It is just 30min ride away from Da Nang city. Do not miss it!

City of silk lanterns
Hoi An is a charming town, and a perfect day trip from Danang.
Hoi An is famous for its market, boat rides, and of course all the silk lanterns that decorate pretty much everything in town.
My friends and I arrived about two hours before sunset. What gave us a good amount of time to stroll around the shopping streets and to see local places of interest before the darkness.
Hoi An is a good place to buy souvenirs, and see all sorts of local crafts.
Many temples, old houses and bridges are also worth stopping by and having a closer look. I personally love old architecture, so I really enjoyed seeing all that beauty.
After spending a good amount of time at the market, we went for a boat ride. And I think the best way to do it is to get a boat for the sunset, so it's possible to have a look at the Riverside during the daylight, and then in the darkness.

Millions silk lantern lights of Hoi An
Hoi An is a small charming town nearby Danang city. The main action there starts after sunset. Hoi An is famous for traditional silk lanterns that local lit at night. There are so many of the lights everywhere. The entire embankment, all the restaurants, every single boat is decorated with the lanterns... it feels like in a fairytale!
I took a boat ride after sunset, then went for a dinner at a place with a beautiful terrace, and then grabbed a drink while staring at the Riverside and watched all the lanterns in the boats.
Hoi An is a perfect place to buy souvenirs, try local food at the night market, and enjoy elegant atmosphere of this pretty town.

Tip: you can easily get to Hoi An from Danang by bus, taxi or scooter. Just keep in mind that buses stop running around 6 PM or so.
Probably the best homemade ice cream in Hoi An
This tiny place is an absolute gem! There is just a couple of tables, and the owner - a sweet lady who was sort of shy, but so so pleasant!
Ice cream was rich and delicious, it's really felt like they use fresh fruits and not just artificial flavoring. Plus, Delete brought us some local drink - like a cold, herbal tea that I'm not sure what it was, but it was nice to wash away the witness of ice cream before we left.

Hoi An - “Asian Venice”
So, Hoi An. What to do in the city and what to see in the surroundings?
Hoi An is a small town in central Vietnam, adorned with colorful lanterns. The historic center is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the town itself is often called the “Asian Venice” due to its narrow streets, beautifully aging buildings, and numerous canals.
My recommendations:
▪️Take a boat ride in the old town and set a candle afloat on the river
▪️Visit the Pottery Village
▪️Enjoy a delicious meal at “Good Morning Vietnam”
▪️Listen to live music at “Shamrock Irish Pub” and try Guinness
▪️Go on an excursion to the Marble Mountain caves
▪️Drink traditional coffee at “Phin Coffee” on Tran Phu Street
▪️Ride a round boat in the water coconut jungle on a “Coconut Forest Boat Excursion”
▪️Dine at the Greek restaurant “Mix Greek Restaurant”
For hotels, I recommend “Golden Holiday” – clean, beautiful, affordable, close to the center, and excellent breakfasts.#vietnam #hoian #hoianoldtown

Fantastic cafe
You have to try their waffles!! The best I've had in Vietnam. Hidden in between houses accessible by a small ally , a two floor restaurant with a a very delicious variety of modern and visually appealing dishes. Everything else we had tasted was great but the waffle has made a lasting memory. I wish i’d more more days in Hue. Avocado toast was great (i added bacon, which comes on an another plate), espresso was so good.
Absolutely loved the food, the atmosphere, and the location. It was within walking distance of where we were staying, which made it even more irresistible! The food was consistent and fresh.

Wartime cafe vibe
One of vietnamese coffee shop with traditional style Hoi A place. Loved the cafe ambience. Great effort by the owner to source some of the old viet cong days appliances as decorations. Really bring out the vibes of this unique cafe. '68 wartime kind of vibe. I really like the overall atmosphere at this cafe. Beside the usual coffee menu they're also selling mercendize. Ordered for a coconut coffee which too sweet for me.
The ambiance is enhanced by the soothing sounds of old-time jazz music, making it a perfect setting to enjoy a meal and unwind.
The 2nd floor is recommended for an airy room weather and beautiful view.

Good breakfast option
This quaint little resto café is quite charming. Rosie's Cafe offers excellent coffee and a superb healthy breakfast menu. Their rich, smooth coffee pairs perfectly with delicious options like fresh smoothie bowls and avocado toast. That was honestly the best avocado on toast I’ve ever had outside of Europe. Full of flavour, seasoned properly. The sourdough bread was unbelievable.
The majority of tables are outside, but there is adequate shade and ventilation to make it a good dining experience.
Hands down best breakfast we had in Hoi An.

Brekkie & Burgers
This was out regular place for breakfast. We tried several of their varieties over a week in Hoi an. The food tastes fresh and the smoothies are amazing. A couple of times we had their burgers too. Surprisingly it was quite good. Overall, with the burgers, the breakfast the burritos the smoothies literally everything is delicious and so reasonably priced.
This makes the bikini bottom a great spot. Plus, it's so well located next to the An bang beach. The staff is humble and hard working. I think this place needs to be tried at least once during your holiday in Hoi an. Especially if you are looking to take a break from Vietnamese food.

A goregous place by the river
Excellent food, service, highly recommend for that one big night out when travelling or say special occasions. Not to say that it can't be done more often. But the prices don't compare with local eating. But the experience is delightful. The food was delicious.
There was a complimentary glass of wine before we got a bottle of their dalat wine. They also have a happy hour 1+1 for certain wines and beers on the menu. The service of the food was relatively slower but the servers were kind.
We were able to see the views of the river over the bridge nearby, but the balcony seats on the 2nd floor were already taken. Overall, the location, atmosphere and the hospitality with quality food makes it amongst the best of food and drinking experiences in Hoi an.

🇻🇳 Spa at Allegro Hoi An
#spas #100WaysOfTravel
This is a very beautiful hotel and I am so glad I am here. I enjoy their spa service and now I have come back to try again. This is a lovely hotel in Hoi An, Da Nang and they have one of the nicest spa here. I cannot take much photos here because it is a quiet place and there are signs of no photos allowed too. If you are a hotel guest then you are eligible for spa discount here. I did their signature massage which is the Vietnamese Traditional massage for 549000 dong which is already discounted. I will say it is almost similar to Thai Traditional style but less hard. Tipping in Vietnamese culture is always welcome. I gave a 100000 dong tip which is about $5.

Vietnamese food
They have some of the most delicious food in a cool atmosphere with very friendly service. The same.dishes i had elsewhere but here it tasted so good. We visited them over half a dozen times because that taste of things was difficult to find. Never had spring rolls with this outer consistency before, really crunchy and flaky.
Had their fried spring rolls, unique passionfruit chicken which was sweet & sour, also their pork spare ribs with sesame sauce, the rice that comes along with their dishes was so delicious too. Both servers and the boss were very friendly too, and made us feel welcome. All the food we ordered was good, including the smoothies.

my short trip to Da Nang!
Arrived at Da Nang airport safely and took a cab to check-in hotel, took a short rest and out we go. First location I went to Lady Buddha, place was very windy and you can see the cities of Danang. Went to MyKhe beach the next day morning to take a short walk, checked out of hotel and went to Sunworld Bana Hills. Took a 15mins cable car up there and there is this concierge staff took us to our hotel to check-in, how nice. So we spend our day at Bana Hills, not to left out the famous Golden Bridge which you definitely have to see. Place is very windy so I recommend having a jacket & pants if you are afraid of cold. Next day we went to Hoi An, people there are friendly and good is great. Took their famous boat ride which is a must, but beware of the prices because some might overcharge more. Weather is very hot there in the afternoon fyi, please wear something light and don’t get heat stroke. Enjoy every moments at Danang, definitely will come back again the next time!

Traditional Hoi an
This is one of those traditional themed Vietnamese cafe's set in an old house in hoi an. It's in the old town where all the attractions are based. Beside the usual coffee menu they're also selling mercendize. The coffee is well made and prices are reasonable. The place is very cozy and the best spot to chill and chitchat, especially when it is hot outside.
The interiors are very military inspired, yet blending into the ancient cultural structure of architecture. It's in a slightly quieter area of the River so it is more peaceful but it is still scenic. Enjoyable time at the cafe. I like the ambience of this cafe because it has this rustic feel. Also you get a nice view of the river if you are sitting at a window seat.

Vintage cafe
Basically there are more dumb tourists in the world than average minded ones. This place looked very crowded from the outside. Turns out all that crowd for to take pictures. It's a beautiful vintage sort of house and the location is in the old town.
The 2nd floor has AC and beautiful decoration. Did a couple of trips here during the hot afternoons of cycling. Latte was tasty. The hot coffee was underwhelming. The coconut coffee was lovely. The ambience and service was good too. Definitely pricey though. Overall, food is pretty good and drinks are doable. Not the best but I’d recommend to someone who isnt fussy.

🇻🇳 Hoi An Ancient Town Night Market
#ancienttown #100WaysOfTravel
You can learn about the historical relationship between Japan and Vietnam from all these displays. It is to commemorate the relationship of the marriage of princess from Vietnam to a Japanese trader. This story is also being retold at the Hoi An Memories Land as part of their performances. The ship used during the journey is replicated into a permanent display her at the Hoi An Night Market. The road is closed to cars but because beware of motorbikes. This town is not so crowded so it is still safe to walk along the streets. There are no police patrol but there are plenty of cameras in action.

🇻🇳 Hoi An Memories Land folk dance
#folkactivities #100WaysOfTravel
A cultural theme park in Da Nang and it is worth a visit at least once. You get to experience the history and culture of Hoi An with the modernized folk dance and music. This is the best form of story telling by presenting it visually and no dialogue is even needed. The audience can learn the story easily through the body actions and language. This stage is about the Japanese and Vietnamese wedding and how wedding was celebrated back in the days. This show is part of the mini shows in the Hoi An Memories Land and you can watch it in sequence. This is the last act when the prince marry the princess and a big ceremony was being held.
