the best of Tassie
Hi everyone, I recently had an amazing experience at Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, and I wanted to share it with you. Cradle Mountain is one of Australia's most iconic natural landmarks, known for its stunning scenery and diverse wildlife.
The journey to Cradle Mountain itself is incredible. As you drive through Tasmania's winding roads, you’re surrounded by lush forests and picturesque landscapes. I recommend stopping at some of the viewpoints along the way to fully appreciate the beauty of the region.
Once you arrive, the first thing that strikes you is the sheer majesty of Cradle Mountain. It rises dramatically above the surrounding terrain, creating a breathtaking backdrop. Whether you’re an avid hiker or just someone who enjoys nature, there's something here for everyone.
One of the highlights of my visit was the hike around Dove Lake. The trail is relatively easy and takes about two hours to complete. As you walk, you’re treated to panoramic views of the mountain, crystal-clear waters, and unique flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for the local wildlife; I was lucky enough to spot a wombat and several echidnas along the way!
If hiking isn't your thing, you can still enjoy the beauty of the area from the many viewing platforms. The changing weather adds to the mystique of Cradle Mountain, with mist rolling over the peaks and sunlight breaking through the clouds, creating a magical atmosphere.
Cradle Mountain is a place that truly showcases the natural beauty of Australia. Whether you’re looking for adventure or a peaceful retreat, it offers an experience that’s hard to find anywhere else. I highly recommend visiting if you have the chance. It’s a trip that you won’t forget.
Thank you for listening to my Cradle Mountain moment. If you have any questions or want to share your own experiences, feel free to leave a comment below!📍Address: #tasmania

Tasmania is underrated! (part 1)
These photos were taken at Mount Wellington, Hobart, Tasmania.
Not many of my friends had been to Tasmania, and I must say that Tasmania is underrated. To those to who have been to Tasmania, I believe most would be talking about the peace and beauty that you’ll be able to see in Tasmania. It was my 2nd time there, honestly there wasn’t a lot of tourists. It was actually nice not having that many tourists because it means that you get to take nice pictures everywhere you go since it’s not that crowded hahaha!
I’ll totally recommend Tasmania if anyone is planning to go to Melbourne! The additional flight there will be totally worth your time :’)

Tasmania is underrated! + MILKY WAY! (part 2)
Don’t know if anyone would steal these pictures because they are sooooo beautiful, aren’t they?
This is why I always say that Tasmania is underrated because people do not know the beauty within Tasmania. Where would you see pink skies, clear seawater, and orange rocks like fire?! Where else but bay of fires! The relatives that I brought who were visiting Tasmania for the first time were all in awe when they saw the beauty of Tasmania! Needless to say, they were not impressed as much when we went to Melbourne afterwards.
Not forgetting that we even spotted Milky Way in Tasmania! You can follow Facebook groups for aurora australis and there would be people posting about where it could be spotted and so. For us, we actually wanted to spot the aurora australis but caught the Milky Way instead while we were frantically searching for a petrol kiosk. Guess it was a blessing in disguise despite panicking over an empty car tank! :’)

Tasmania - Hobart Self Drive
#2023travelwish
Second day in Hobart, our first stop was Richmond Bridge, a heritage listed arch bridge, the oldest stone span bridge in Australia. At here, you could take some stunning photos on its green field.
Next stop, Puddleduck Vineyard, wine tasting available. And there is outdoor seating for some pastries. Atmosphere was fantastic.
Next stop, Port Arthur and Port Arthur Lavender. Whole atmosphere was full of Lavender smell in Port Arthur Lavender. Tried their Lavender Milk Shake, not bad. Environment was chilled.
Last stop of the day, Tasman Arch, Devils Kitchen, Cliffs Lookout, Blow Hole and Fossil Bay Lookout. You will be impressed by the beauty of natural, incredible dramatic coastal view!

Mt Wellington - Tasmania
#2023travelwish
Our first stop after having lunch in Port of Hobart, was Mt Wellington. It took us around 25 minutes from Sandy Bay by driving.
There were snow on the mountain and view was amazing. Temperature was cold at the summit, make sure to keep warm.
We went there again next day at night time waiting for Southern Lights, but too bad the weather was a bit cloudy. We shall catch the Southern Lights in next visit to Tasmania.

Cataract Cruise Launceston, Tasmania
#celebratewithtrip
Found this cruise when we walked around in Launceston.
After departing from the terminal, you will cruise past the historical Kings Wharf, Seaport, and Launceston's delightful riverfront precinct. The highlight of the experience is then cruising into Launceston's spectacular Cataract Gorge, as you engage the Lady Launceton's unique silent electric drive function.
You can view the sheer cliffs from your comfortable seating, appreciate the unobstructed views on the multi-award winning 1890's style vessel. Whilst aboard the Lady Launceston, you can also enjoy the skipper's captivating commentary which surrounds the history and folklore of this fascinating area.
The fare was acceptable, $33 per person. Another experience in Launceston!

One of the Top 10 Beaches in Tasmania
There are many beautiful prestine beaches in tasmania where popular beaches like Coles Bay, WineGlass Bay, Bruny Island and one where we went was ocean beach located near Strahan Village.
Ocean Beach is a long stretch of beach with unblocked views. This beach is approximately 40km long and is worth a visit. Along the beach there are also couple of sand dunes that you are able to climb up and even with the possibility sliding down die to the very soft sands here.
It is recommended to just drop by here to absorb the views but as most reviews and locals say that it's not recommended to swim here due to the strong currents, and plus the cold water I too don't think its a good idea.

Port Arthur UNESCO Heritage Site
Tasmania is filled with many natural landscape but do you know it is also filled with many stories and historic sites from ages ago?

This is a place that you have to visit as it was deemed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site where there are historic buildings dating back to the 18th/19th centuries along the cliffsode overlooking the coast.
This place has many tales where it wad once a place for convicts in a 4 story Penitentiary. A huge Penitentiary which consists of an asylum, hospital and a church. There are also tales of ghost story here which can be quite scary to some.

The Tasmania Sea Cliffs Lookout
When road tripping in Tasmania you should stop by at the Tasman Arch and the many other lookout located at EagleHawk Neck TAS 7179 where you will also be able to see other sea cliffs loke the Blowhole, the lookout point and also the devil's kitchen all situated around each other.
Thus is a other area where you will be able to also do some hikes as each attraction/lookout is situated about a 12-15min walk. This is a relatively easy walk with not much of gradual ups and down.
These arches are natural arches made by the waves crashing onto these cliffs for many years, forming these natural beautiful cliffs. These is a must visit when you are here, to admire the natural beauty of these cliffs.

A difference experience, only in Tassie!
Tasmania is a place where most of the people here are sel sustainable! This is where you will see many farms located all around tasmania, from chicken, sheep, vegetables and fruits.
We took a leap of faith to stay at a farm called Curringa Farm located about an hour drive away from hobart. This farm is by far the most comfortable stay, and it actually feels like a 5 start hotel on a farm!
Well, staying in a farm also gives you access to the sheep shearing by the farm owners where they will show you the process of removing the wools from sheep's and you can also see the dogs that will guide the sheep back to its gated fence in the evening.
Also, don't forget to stop by the many berries farm located on the way to Curringa Farm, you can buy home made freshly pounded berries straight from the production line, and its as fresh as it gets! There is so much to see and do in tasmania that you can never get to do in Singapore.
Make this a bucket list holiday!

The Dove Lake Circuit Hiking Route
Dove Lake is a very popular tourists attraction in tasmania located at near cradle mountain, one of tasmania iconic mountains.
Dove lake has a hike that is a loop where it is a 2.5 - 3 hours circuit route that takes you around the lake that allows you to take different angle of this calm smooth reflective lake. During the walk around the circuit there are also several view points for you, where it overlooks the lake with the gorgeous breathtaking backdrops of the mountains surrounding the lake.
This is an easy hike with some gradual upslope and downslope, nothing too difficult. But if you do not want to walk the entire lake, from the car park, just walk down towards the lake which will only take you less than 10mins and you will be able to have a view of the amazing Dove lake.
Do go early, as the carpark gets filled up really fast and tour buses will also start coming in later in the day.

The Highly Visited Horseshoe Falls
Tasmania is filled with many nature parks and hiking trails with many highly visited nature park with breathtaking waterfalls.
You should head to one of the highly visited water falls called Horseshoe falls located within Mount Field at Mount Field TAS 7140, Australia. This hike will take you approximately 45mins to an hour and the entire loop is roughly about 2km if I'm not wrong. But this is a hike that you cannot miss as it will take you pass to other waterfalls, the Russell falls and the Lady Barron Falls.
This hike is relatively easy but do make sure you wear good walking shoes as you can see the falls might make the floor wet and also my entire clothes was soaked.

Tasmania, the adventuorus hikers haven
Tasmania is a little island down south east of Australia where you are required to take an internal flight over from the mainland Australia, either Melbourne or Sydney.
We had an amazing trip to tasmania where everyday is just filled with many hikes up and down several hilltop just to catch the beautiful breathing scenery where you can never get in a city life in singapore. Many say, tasmania is the cheaper option of new Zealand which I totally agree. It is just filled with scenic lakes, valleys, mountains and caves.
This is one group travel that I will never forget, truly a fun and memorable one! Recommended to go with a group with more than 2 drivers as there are alot of driving to be done to cover the entire tasmania. We did it in a span of 10 days from hobart to Launceston and back. Make this one of your lists of destination!

The beauty of autumn
There is so much to love when autumn comes. For starters, the temperature is perfect! It's chilly yet bright and sunny at the same time. I enjoy basking in the sun during the day without worrying about breaking out in sweat.
It's always a great idea to spend some time outdoors, admiring the trees that are changing in colour or just kicking up dried leaves that have fallen onto the ground. Sometimes, these are the little things in life that remind me that beauty is all around me, as long as I take the time to slow down and appreciate what life has to offer.

Shells and tiny creatures on shore
A stroll at the Bay of Fires is as educational as it is scenic. A close look at the sand and in between rocks reveal so much of the sea creatures that live on shore.
I spotted this jellyfish look-alike that was washed up on shore. Didn't know what it was. A search online showed that it was actually a Portuguese Man O'War - it stings fishes and humans. For humans, it can be excruciatingly painful but unlikely to be deadly.
There were some tiny crabs in between rocks too. And of course, pretty shiny sea shells such as the holographic one in my cover photo.
Life is indeed amazing and takes all shape and form!

Mersey Viewing Point, Tasmania
Mersey Viewing Point is a quiet and exclusive spot in Devonport, Tasmania. There were less than 6 visitors during the time when I was there. A short stroll to the viewing point brings you close to the waves, rocks and coastline. There is a huge carpark there and public toilets too. The path from the carpark to the viewing point is about a 10min walk. I spotted a cute wallaby amongst the trees during my time there.
For those who do not drive, bus 170 and bus 171 serve the area. The bus stop is along the main road and is near a skatepark.

Splendid views at Maingon Bay in Tasmania
This is Maingon Bay lookout in Port Arthur. It is a great place to admire the rolling rugged cliffs along the coast and the endless ocean against the backdrop of the clear blue sky. I spotted a helicopter carrying something that looks like a surfboard when I was there.
Maingon Bay is just a short walk away from Remarkable Cave - another scenic spot boasting views of limestone cliffs.
Location: 7182/446 Safety Cove Rd, Port Arthur TAS 7182, Australia
There is a huge carpark (free) and a public toilet there. Remember to place your national park pass on your dashboard of your car as rangers do come to spot check.

Hitchhiking in Tasmania
Between hiking in the cold at 7am for 2hours and hitchhiking for a 15mins ride - the choice was clear.
We woke up at the break of dawn for a quick breakfast and coffee. The car park was empty and only had a couple of campervans parked overnight here. With our bodies still stiff and cold, we started on our hike to Cradle Mountain only to realise that the journey was longer than expected. We made a quick decision to hitch a ride in to the Overland Track of Cradle Mountain instead of continue walking in the cold. Got rejected a few times but didn't give up. We finally succeeded with a kind hearted couple from Queensland who were also intending to hike to the summit of Cradle Mountain.

Trek to the foot of Cradle Mountain, Tasmania
The journey to Cradle Mountain typically starts from Ronny Creek car park, where there is a registration booth for all visitors to sign in.
Take the Overland Track to get to Crater Falls. The bushwalking track is very well maintained. There is a platform which is raised to keep visitors away from the mud and grass. It is even lined with anti slip chains for the cold winter mornings. Platform is quite narrow though, and good for walking in single file only. The terrain is mostly flat with occasional steps, which makes for an easy walk. It took me about 1.5hr to get to Crater Falls. You might spot some cute wombats along the way if you are lucky!
