Changhai to Wucaichi [Must-visit places in Jiuzhai Valley National Park]
Changhai and Wucaichi are scenic areas with the highest altitude in Zezhawa Valley of Jiuzhaigou National Park. Changhai (Long Lake) not only has the highest altitude (approx. 3,100 m above sea level) but it is also the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou. It is a deep lake with clear water within a valley, with mountains at both sides, thus boast the most majestic view of Jiuzhaigou. There is a walkboard near to the water level beside the lake, which showcase view into the valley where the lake is. Colors of water seen were from green in the shallow, to dark green, blue green and navy blue as according to the depth of the lake.
Wucaichi (Five-Color Pond) is one of the most popular scenic area with a considerably smaller, several meters deep lake. The water here is unbelievably crystal clear and surprisingly colorful with the main color theme being turquoise with green, yellow, red brown, blue and indigo found amongst, perhaps due to reflection of the surrounding vegetation, perhaps due to an interplay between water depth, and lake bottom structures and colors. It's not difficult to see why Wucaichi is so popular and so much loved by the people.
There is only one recommended route of visit, that is to get down at Changhai bus stop, spend time visiting the Changhai scenic area (has toilets), then walk for several hundreds meters downstream to Wucaichi scenic area. After that, it is recommended to get out by boarding a sightseeing bus from Wucaichi bus stop (about 300 m downstream of Wucaichi scenic area) all the way out to Nuorilang Visitor Center, for transfer to other scenic areas.
These two scenic areas are highly recommended when visiting Jiuzhaigou. Be sure not to over-exert yourself if you visit here since the altitude here is above 3,000 m.

Experience 4 seasons in 1 day ⛰️九寨沟 🏞️
Finally put my foot down and decided to try solo travelling while visiting one of the world’s most beautiful UNESCO site. While planning, I realised there was not much itineraries around in English. So here’s my itinerary:
Day 1
1040H: 🛬Landed in Chengdu Tianfu Airport
1303-1330H: 🚝Took the train from Tianfu Airport to Chengdu East Station (approx 30mins)
1444-1654H: 🚝Bullet Train from Chengdu East Station to HuanglongJiuzhai station (approx 2h)
1700H: 🚕Took a 10mins cab to a hotel located near Chengdu East station
1800H: 🥘Dropped baggage at hotel before having dinner at a nearby restaurant 10mins car ride away
Day 2
0900H: 🚕 Took a 10mins cab back to HuanglongJiuzhaigou station to catch the 2hour shuttle to JiuZhai attraction entrance
1130H: 📍Arrived at JiuZhaiGou attraction entrance (10mins walk), checked in at hotel to drop off lugguage before catching a quick lunch and heading towards the attraction.
1230H: ⛰️ Follow the signs and head towards the attraction where you will scan your ticket and board a bus which will bring you to the attraction route while giving a tour in Chinese. (Note: Sit on the left side of the bus to get a better views of the scenery while on the bus. Last entry to attraction is at 1400H)
1830H: 🏞️ JiuZhaiGou closes at 1830H, so do ensure that you catch the last bus to leave the place.
1900H: Dinner and head back to accommodation
Day 3
0609H: 🚏Head towards the bus gathering point and catch the earliest bus back to Huanglongjiuzhai station (approx 2h ride)
0904-1045H: 🚝 Bullet train back to Chengdu East station (approx 2h)
This was the itinerary I came up with as a solo traveller. An alternative to the itinerary would be to travel to the attraction area on day 1 such that you will be able to spend a full day at JiuZhaiGou or head back directly to Chengdu with the latest bullet train. Do book your train tickets two week in advance to secure a seat. Note that it’s currently non-peak period for jiuzhaigou so tickets are half price :) what are you waiting for? Hurry book your tickets and marvel at the beautiful scenery.

Alaska’s Trip for colorful sky experience - Northern lights
#auroralight
#naturalwonders
#couplestrip
#thingstodo
💞Experiencing the northern lights, or aurora borealis, in Alaska is a bucket-list adventure for many travelers. Alaska offers some of the best opportunities to witness this natural phenomenon due to its location within the auroral zone.
### Tour Options - depending on your budget
- **Guided Tours**: Many companies offer guided northern lights tours from Fairbanks and Anchorage, which include transportation, expert guidance, and sometimes photography assistance. Ranging within 1000 USD
- **Aurora Viewing Lodges**: Some lodges and cabins specialize in aurora viewing, providing cozy accommodations with large windows or outdoor hot tubs for comfortable viewing.
- **Dog Sledding and Snowmobiling**: Combine your aurora viewing with an adventurous activity like dog sledding or snowmobiling.
Best Time to Visit
- **Peak Season**: The best time to see the northern lights in Alaska is from late August to April. The darkest months, particularly from December to March, offer the highest chances of clear skies and extended viewing hours.
- **Avoiding the Midnight Sun**: In the summer months, the midnight sun results in almost continuous daylight, making it nearly impossible to see the auroras.
### Best Locations
- **Fairbanks**: Known as one of the best places in the world for viewing the aurora, Fairbanks is located under the "auroral oval," a ring-shaped zone over the far north where auroras are most frequently observed.
- **Denali National Park**: Offers stunning landscapes and a good chance of seeing the lights away from city lights.
- **Anchorage**: While not as ideal as Fairbanks, you can still see the aurora, especially if you venture outside the city.
- **Coldfoot and the Brooks Range**: More remote and offers an authentic wilderness experience with excellent viewing opportunities.
- **Nome and Barrow (Utqiaġvik)**: These locations offer unique cultural experiences along with aurora viewing.
### Tips for Viewing
- **Stay Up Late**: The best time for viewing is usually between 10 PM and 3 AM.
- **Check the Forecast: Use aurora forecast websites or apps to predict the likelihood of aurora activity.
- **Dress Warmly**: Temperatures can drop significantly, so wear layers and insulated clothing.
- **Plan for Flexibility**: Weather conditions can change rapidly, so having a flexible schedule can increase your chances of seeing the aurora.
- **Photography**: If you plan to take photos, bring a tripod and use a camera with manual settings to capture the lights effectively.
### Cultural and Natural Attractions
- **Cultural Experiences**: Learn about Indigenous cultures and history in places like Fairbanks and Anchorage.
- **Wildlife Viewing**: Take advantage of Alaska's wildlife opportunities, such as spotting moose, caribou, and even polar bears in certain areas.

One-day pass to explore ancient wonders of Cambodia
I spent a half-day to explore Angkor Park, Siem Rap Cambodia, where I was immersed by the wonderful ancient wanders. Here are the temples worthy of visit according to my experiences and what you need to remember when pay a visit:
1. Please bear in mind, Angkor is a big park with many temples. You can choose what temples you want to visit. For me, these three temples are worthy: Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm Temple are the must to visit. Angkor Wat is famous for being part of the world’s wonder. At Bayon Temple, you can find unique statue with four faces, while Ta Prohm Temple having old and giant trees on its walls. You can explore the site where Angelina Jolie was filmed for Tomb Raider in this temple, too.
2. Always remember to respect all temples as a sacred place. Wearing clothes that cover your all bodies and keep your voice down are good things to perform.
3. The entrance ticket is not available at the temple’s gates. You need to purchase it in advance in the city, and you can choose to have a one-day pass, two-days pass, etc. I chose one-day pass and it costs USD.39.
4. If you come alone or with a friend, renting tuk-tuk, a local vehicle is good choice. You can enjoy a nice views and the breeze along the way to the temples. The tuk-tuk costs USD 20 for a day.

Exploring Cambodia: A Land of Ancient Wonders and Modern Charm
Cambodia, a land where the past and present intertwine, is one of Southeast Asia’s hidden gems. Known primarily for the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor Wat, the country offers so much more than its ancient wonders. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a culture lover, or an adventure seeker, Cambodia invites you to discover its multifaceted beauty.
Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world, stands as a testament to the grandeur of the Khmer Empire. However, while these temples are a must-see, the surrounding countryside, bustling cities, and coastal retreats are equally compelling. Phnom Penh, the country’s capital, buzzes with life, blending colonial architecture with vibrant street markets. The Royal Palace and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum remind visitors of Cambodia’s tragic past, offering an important glimpse into its resilience.
But beyond the historical landmarks, Cambodia’s natural beauty is captivating. The peaceful Tonle Sap Lake, home to floating villages, contrasts the lively scenes of Siem Reap’s night markets and Phnom Penh’s riverside promenade. The coastal town of Sihanoukville provides idyllic beaches for those looking to unwind, while the Cardamom Mountains offer trails for trekking and wildlife exploration.
Cambodia may be small, but its heart is enormous. The warmth and hospitality of its people leave a lasting impression, and its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty make it a destination worth exploring. Whether you’re uncovering the mysteries of Angkor or simply savoring a bowl of local noodle soup, Cambodia’s charm is undeniable and unforgettable.

A trip to Vietnam offers a rich tapestry of experiences, blending natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture. You might start in Hanoi, the capital, where the blend of French colonial architecture and ancient temples creates a unique atmosphere. Strolling through the Old Quarter, you’ll find bustling streets filled with vendors selling delicious street food like pho, bun cha, and egg coffee.
Next, journey to the stunning Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its emerald waters and thousands of limestone islands. Cruising through the bay, you’ll have the opportunity to kayak, visit caves, and enjoy fresh seafood.
Traveling south, you’ll reach Hue, the ancient imperial capital, home to grand palaces, temples, and tombs set along the Perfume River. The historic city offers a deep dive into Vietnam’s royal past. From Hue, head further south to Hoi An, a beautifully preserved town famous for its lantern-lit streets, charming architecture, and delicious cuisine. The blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese influences is visible everywhere, from the markets to the historical buildings.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) in the south offers a contrast, with its fast-paced urban energy. The War Remnants Museum and Cu Chi Tunnels provide a sobering glimpse into Vietnam’s history during the Vietnam War. The bustling markets and rooftop bars offer a taste of modern Vietnamese life.
Finally, a trip to the Mekong Delta introduces you to Vietnam’s rural side, where floating markets and traditional villages line the rivers, offering a peaceful escape from the bustling cities. Throughout the journey, the hospitality and warmth of the Vietnamese people make every experience even more memorable.

Hidden Gem in Phuket!
We were looking for a chill and relaxed trip away from the city. This was worth the money as the view from the room is just amazing!
You can even watch the sunrise from the room as they have windows at three sides of the room! The view id breathtaking.
We stayed at Beyond Skywalk Nangshi! Beautiful place! With a free entry to Skywalk anytime from 6-6! Sunrises around 6am and it is dark by 7pm. The place is too beautiful during sunrise.
We went with our 6 month old baby and it was really comfortable. The staffs were really friendly and food was amazing. The chicken stuffed pizza was really one of the best we had!
Best for a 2 day trip away from city life!
