Cardiff POI’s 🇬🇧
#uktrip
I spent a fantastic few days exploring Cardiff, and I must say, this city truly has something for everyone! 🏰 From the moment I arrived, I was taken by the mix of historic and modern vibes. My first stop was Cardiff Castle, right in the city center. For a £14 entrance fee, I got to wander through the medieval keep, stroll along the Roman walls, and explore the Victorian Gothic mansion with its stunning interiors. The view from the top of the Norman keep is incredible—you can see the entire city and the surrounding countryside! 🏞️
Just a short walk away is Bute Park, a huge green space perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic by the River Taff. I loved wandering through the gardens, especially the Arboretum, which had some of the oldest trees in the city 🌳. The weather was perfect, so I rented a bike and cycled along the Taff Trail, a scenic route that offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle.
For a dose of culture, I headed to the Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay. This area is buzzing with life, and the modern architecture is really impressive. I caught a performance at the Centre, but even if you don't go inside, the building itself is a must-see. 🏟️ The bay area is filled with restaurants, shops, and attractions like the Doctor Who Experience (for fellow fans, it’s a dream come true!). The sunset views over the bay are stunning, making it a perfect spot to end the day with a drink by the water. 🌅
Cardiff is a city where old meets new, with a vibrant cultural scene and so much history to explore. Whether you're into castles, parks, or just soaking up the lively atmosphere, this Welsh capital has it all! #trip #Cardiff #CastleViews #ButePark #CardiffBay #WelshAdventure
Shopping how it used to be, the historical Cardiff Market
Cardiff market is an iconic landmark in the city center that feels like a time portal to a bygone era. The indoor market was opened in 1891 and has kept most of its original features, it has two main entrances and it’s a hub of activity.
The market has everything you could need from jewellers and cobblers to butchers and grocers.
There are great hot food options with Mexican, Indian, Thai and even freshly made Welsh cakes.
The upstairs offers great views over the market and most of the food stalls have seating around the balconies
It’s a great place to have a snack and get some groceries while taking in the historical vibes

Cardiff Bay, the modern beating hard of Wales’ Capital Cardiff 🏴
Cardiff is the capital city of Wales and it’s seen an incredible amount of development over the last 15 to 20 years. The Cardiff bay barrage is one of the most successful urban renewal projects in European history, it’s created an incredible entertainment district that has something for everyone.
When the barrage was completed it created a huge man made lake which has been developed into a marina, wetland parks and the Mermaid Quay development. It houses the Millennium Center for performances, the Welsh assembly building and numerous food options - all centered around the historic dry docks and pier head building.
The bay is great during the summer as there are always seasonal events, at the moment a fun fair for the family.
The bay is a great place to understand Cardiff’s history and the role the docks paid in the early development of the city. The different architecture is fascinating as the modern city has grown around some of its oldest landmarks.
📍Address: Cardiff Bay
🚆 Transport : There are plenty of parking options, bus routes or the train to Cardiff bay station
💰Average Price per Person: Various prices, but very affordable options from around £10 Per person.

Have a roar-some time, dinosaurs at the museum of Wales
The National Museum of Wales is a fantastic free day out for the whole family, located in the heart of Cardiff’s civic center. The museum is housed in a stunning building and houses both a natural history museum, art gallery and dedicated sections about the history of wales itself.
The museum is famous for it’s large collection of dinosaur bones and life size models, I remember going so many times as a child - so it’s amazing to be able to come back and visit again.
The natural history galleries are on the lower floors with the art galleries on the higher floors and through the extensions added to the back of the building.
There is a nice cafe and gift shop in the main atrium where you can sit back and take in the stunning building around you.
The museum is free so It does get busy, I would advise going early in the day to make sure you have enough time to take in everything you want to see.
🕰️Business Hours: 10AM - 5PM (closed Mondays except bank holidays)
📍Address: Central Cardiff Civic Center
💰Average Price per Person: free entry! (£6.50 for parking if needed)

Amazing weather in Cardiff 🏴#wales #foodie #cardiff
Living in Cardiff really made me appreciate how walkable it is, how bike-friendly it is and how good the public transport is!
Walking: Cardiff City Centre is really easy to walk around as it isn’t that big and if you don’t fancy walking or have difficulties walking, I recommend this Cardiff hop on hop off bus to show you the best Cardiff tourist attractions.
