Xiamen Trip Review I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Xiamen, and I can’t recommend this coastal city enough! Here are some highlights from my journey: Delicious Cuisine Xiamen’s food scene is a highlight in itself. From the famous peanut soup to seafood dishes like oyster omelets, every meal was a treat. I particularly enjoyed dining at a local night market where I sampled various street foods. Cultural Experiences I visited the Nanputuo Temple, a serene place with stunning architecture and a peaceful atmosphere. The view from the surrounding hills was breathtaking, making the hike well worth it.Scenic Spots The coastline is absolutely beautiful, especially at Zengcuo’an Beach, where I spent an afternoon relaxing. The sunset views were spectacular, creating a perfect backdrop for unwinding after a day of exploration. Conclusion Xiamen is a city that beautifully blends history, culture, and natural beauty. Whether you’re a foodie, a nature lover, or a history buff, there’s something for everyone. I left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return. Spent 48 hours discovering the city of Xiamen in October 2024. An inpromptu plan without much planning. To my surprise there are just too many sites that need more time to explore. Went to Gulangyu, which is also a World heritage sites. Other than the hassle of getting tickets which are inflated in my opinion, the sites are just amazing. The historical values are aplenty. The ferry ride was a quick 20 minutes going over, and about 6minutes on the returning trip. Be careful if you are leaving after 5:45pm as the ferry will take you to another dock, and it will be loaded with locals. It is a little over crowded in my opinion. Overall, spent half day in gulangyu was rather relaxing. It will be better to spend a night there if you have the time. Went to visit a few Toulou. It is just amazing how these traditional houses can accommodate up to 800 and more individuals at times. The engineering behind is unbelievable. Just got to see it to appreciate its mere wonders. Just be extra careful which tours you purchase as some does not come with the entrance fees. I paid extra rmb230 for three different entrance tickets on top of the transportation cost. To do a. One day trip from Xiamen is a little too rush. Spent almost 2:30hours on the road one way. The time can be better spent spending a night near the sites. There are plenty of places of stay. But to travel from Xiamen can be a little too tiring in my opinion. Overall, I am still very satisfied with the visit. Will come back again. The golden rays of the setting sun brought an unexpected warmth to the winter air, allowing us to take off our jackets and leisurely stroll along the beach. The sky transformed into a palette of soft pinks and oranges, reflecting beautifully on the calm sea. Children played in the sand, their laughter filling the air, while a few newlywed couples posed for their wedding photos, capturing this magical moment against the stunning backdrop. The sunset, casting long shadows and a golden glow on everything around, was undoubtedly the highlight of our Xiamen trip, creating a serene and unforgettable evening by the sea.

Xiamen definitely was worth a visit. The city is so pretty and the pedestrian street was interesting to see. The temple was the real hidden gem.#xiamen . . I stayed at the Moka Seaview Apartments and the it was such a great view. . . A two or three day trip is definitely enough to see everything you need to. . . ⛩️ Breathtaking views of a temple hanging high up on a cliff side ⛰️ Incredible hike that includes multiple ladders with even more views at the peak 🥾 Temple hike is friendly to all ages and abilities, peak hike not so much 🏨 Hotel available at base 📸 Photogenic scenery that’s IG friendly 🌤️ Fun in all weather Lingtongshan is a must see no matter the weather if you’re in the Xiamen/Zhangzhou area. I’ve done the hike in sun, rain, and heavy fog and each time is a unique, beautiful, and fun experience. Cost of entry is 20 yuan per person. I’ve taken my 65 year old parents, friends who aren’t in the best shape, dog, and seen countless kids make the hike up the stairs to the temple. The temple portion is about a 30 minute trek and most people of any fitness level can make it. The hike that forks off and goes to the peak is more difficult and requires the ability to squeeze into tight spaces and climb ladders. Be aware if you bring your dog they’ll either need to fit in a bag or you’ll need another way to carry them up the ladders. Hike this portion at your own discretion. The peak hike would take an average group a little over an hour going up and a little less coming back down. Depending on who I hike with I’ve done it as fast as 40 minutes up though. If you have a Chinese drivers license it’s highly recommended to rent a car and drive out to the mountain. The trip from Xiamen is beautiful in itself and you’ll have the flexibility of going/leaving when you want. Getting a DiDi or taxi is very difficult from the mountain so please be prepared ahead of time. Gulangyu Island is located at the southwest corner of Xiamen Island, facing Xiamen across the sea, with only a 600-meter wide Lujiang River separating it from Xiamen Island. It takes a ferry about 4.5 minutes to reach the island. (Now, it takes about 40 minutes to circumnavigate the island.) With an area of 1.87 square kilometers and a population of over 20,000, it is currently under the jurisdiction of Siming District. 2018.12.17 #샤먼 ( #厦门 / #xiamen ) 여행 샤먼을 찾은 가장 큰 목적 중 하나인 #구랑위 ( #鼓浪屿 ) 로 가는 날, 페리를 탈 수 있는 #샤먼국제크루즈터미널 ( #厦门邮轮中心码头 ) 를 찾아갔다. 외국인은 이곳에서만 구랑위 행 페리를 탈 수 있다고 하는데... 대만으로 가는 대형 크루즈도 운행하는 곳이라 규모가 꽤 컸다. 암튼 티켓을 샀다. 구매하려는 대기줄이 꽤 길다던지, 구매 후 3~4시간 기다려야 페리에 탑승할 수 있다는 얘기를 많이 들었는데 왠걸 구매는 5분 그리고 20분 후에 바로 승선할 수 있었다. 관광 성수기가 아니기도 하고, 평일이어서 그렇자 않나 추측해본다. 어쨌든 단돈 50 RMB 를 지불하고 색다른 경험을 시작하려 한다. #중국여행 #샤먼여행 #하문 #하문여행 #xiamentrip #chinatrip

Attraction name: Huangcuo sand beach Location: East Xiamen Located only ten minutes from the centre of Xiamen and only twenty minutes from the airport, I recommend going to Huangcuo Beach. Why? It’s quiet, the sand is soft, the waves are calm and there are many quaint coffee shops with sea views. We enjoyed walking along the beach and then entered a coffee shop with a sea view. There is ample outside sun loungers and air conditioned seating in the coffee shops and it’s a great summer oasis. #summerbreak #beach #xiamen

Ferry to Gulangyu easy to buy for foreigner you just have a passport :) Ticket officer can speak english and useful. Ferry ticket cost is not too expensive. Seaview is so wonderful and building is awesome. We can buy anything by alipay , dont have to use banknote. Went here on Spring 2018, and it was an amazing experience! All the corners in Gulangyu were pretty. The air was also fresh. Spent 3 hours here was not enough. There were many things to see. We want to stay here longer. I came here with private group tour, and I suggest you to try it too. Then your trip will be fun. Stayed at Royal Victoria Hotel for 2 nights. One of my best experience was woke up to this pretty view! The five-star hotel has all we need as a traveler; various delicious menu for breakfast, pretty interior design, great service, as well as spacious and comfortable room. It is located 16km (30mins driving) from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. So far I enjoyed Xiamen so much. It took only 5 hours flight from Jakarta, and the direct flight usually provided by Xiamen Airlines. You should try to stay here too when you're in Xiamen ✨ #wecreate #xiamen #royalvictoriahotel
