The Iconic Hong Kong Tram: A Ride Through History
The Hong Kong tramway, affectionately known as the "Ding Ding," is one of the city’s most iconic and charming modes of transport. Operating since 1904, it’s not just a means of getting around but also a moving piece of history.
One of the most fascinating features of these trams is their double-decker design. These two-story trams were introduced to maximize passenger capacity on Hong Kong's narrow and busy streets. They remain the only fully double-decker tram system in the world, offering passengers unique views of the city from the top deck.
Riding the tram is incredibly affordable, with fares averaging just $0.30–$0.50 USD per trip, making it a budget-friendly way to explore. The trams are also known for their bright and colorful exteriors, often wrapped in eye-catching advertisements that add vibrancy to the streets of Hong Kong.
The tram system runs exclusively on the northern side of Hong Kong Island, connecting key districts like Central, Wan Chai, and Causeway Bay. It's not just practical but also environmentally friendly, as it’s entirely powered by electricity.
Hop aboard, grab a seat on the upper deck, and enjoy the slow-paced ride through Hong Kong's bustling streets—it’s a must-try experience that blends tradition with modernity.

Coconut Chicken Hotpot
Finally, the coconut chicken hotpot from Shenzhen has opened in Hong Kong. After work, I spontaneously decided to try it to cool off.
There aren't many places in Hong Kong that use authentic coconut water for hotpot, but Four Seasons Coconut Grove features a hotpot with four coconuts and no added water! The broth is incredibly sweet. With over 60 branches in China, it's a must-visit now that they've opened a new store in MOKO.
The chicken used is Hainan Wenchang chicken from Shanghai, with fresh, enticing pink meat.
Double Cold Dish
The Hainan spicy Wenchang chicken gizzards are spicy and chewy, perfect as a snack with drinks! The spicy cucumber is refreshing and crunchy.
When the coconut water broth boils, the coconut aroma is overwhelming. The staff helps us add the chicken to cook. The chicken is tender and chewy, with crispy skin. Remember to drink a sip of the rich coconut water broth, it's fragrant and sweet, truly delicious!
Chaozhou Handmade Fish Skin Dumplings
Different from the usual ones, these small dumplings are chewy and have a fishy aroma.
Snow Mountain Beef Short Ribs
Beautifully presented, the pink meat with white fat marbling is rich and has a milky aroma.
Orchid Clams
Crispy and chewy, they don't have much flavor on their own, but dipping them in sand ginger soy sauce brings out their sweetness.
Coconut Boat Rice
Glutinous rice steamed with coconut meat, chewy and topped with coconut shreds, very fragrant.
Now you don't have to go to Shenzhen to enjoy authentic coconut chicken, it's very convenient!

Live band Show
This restaurant features a live band at night, where you can request songs to be played live, creating a lively atmosphere. 🎤🎼🎸
We ordered lobster pasta and steak with mashed potatoes as our main dishes. The lobster pasta came with half a lobster 🦞, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, with a rich sauce, and the lobster was quite tender.
The steak 🥩 was well-seared and cooked to the right doneness, with tender meat, accompanied by creamy mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, offering a rich flavor.
As for drinks, this place offers a wide variety of coffee. I chose the caramel pudding fresh milk coffee, which had a crispy caramel top and a rich coffee flavor! Additionally, I ordered a Fever-Tree Citrus Tonic, which was very fizzy and refreshing.

GOGOING·Zcamp Starship Campground
Check-in is available from 3 PM, and check-out is at 12 PM. Even staying for a day won't be enough to enjoy all the facilities at the campground, including children's playground, pet park, splash pool, sunny lawn, water center, deep diving pool, and many other leisure and entertainment spaces. So, it's a good idea to plan ahead before coming.
Breakfast includes some snacks and soy milk, which taste pretty good.
I saw some RV camping, which seems to be allowed on certain lawns. It looks great, and I would love to come back again if I get the chance.

Saga Yakiniku Valley
Every once in a while, I get a craving for yakiniku. In the past year or two, I've noticed that many restaurants have significantly improved, with quality getting better and better. Recently, I dined at another high-quality yakiniku restaurant, where the quality of the meat and the selection of cuts were excellent. We opted for Level 3, an all-you-can-eat Australian Wagyu and seafood set, priced at $488 plus a service charge per person.
After trying it, I recommend ordering a few items at a time and then reordering as needed. The Australian Wagyu ribeye (marinated) had a great texture and rich beef flavor without being tough or greasy, making it easy to eat a lot without feeling overwhelmed. The premium Australian Wagyu brisket is best enjoyed plain to savor its natural beef flavor. For seafood lovers, there are plenty of options, including grilled whole Japanese oysters, large prawns, and whole abalone, all fresh and plump, becoming deliciously sweet when grilled. They also serve the trendy grilled eel, which is very tasty. Besides the items included in the Level 3 set, you can also order from the Level 1 and 2 menus, which offer a wide variety of choices. For an additional $38, you can enjoy unlimited Sapporo beer and sake.
In conclusion, aside from the quality of the ingredients, the service attitude of the staff is a major factor in determining whether a restaurant is high-quality. Having enough staff is already an advantage, but they also proactively help change the grill nets and recommend pairing certain meats with specific sauces, making the overall dining experience feel like great value for money.

Hong Kong Michelin Dim Sum Restaurant 'One Dim Sum'
One Dim Sum is a cost-effective chain dim sum restaurant located in Hong Kong. I visited the One Dim Sum in Mong Kok, and even though I went late, there was still a wait, proving it's a truly popular spot. Keep in mind that if you visit late, some dim sum items might be sold out.
A new One Dim Sum has opened in Central, and since this location operates until dawn, it's a good option for those looking to take out.
Hong Kong Street Life Photo Spots
📍 Kennedy Town
📍 New Praya, Sai Wan, Hong Kong
Kennedy Town is located on Hong Kong Island and offers a view of the sea. It is especially popular for its numerous street photo spots, attracting many visitors who come to take pictures.
Capture the essence of Hong Kong in one frame with the sea, the densely packed buildings, and the iconic Hong Kong taxis, and you'll leave with unforgettable travel photos from your Hong Kong trip.
A French Bistro on Chakan Street
After work on Friday night, I went to this charming French bistro in Sheung Wan, Chakan Street, for dinner. Although it's a bit far from the subway station, the unique decor and great atmosphere make up for it.
We started with a glass of red wine and some bread. The Niçoise Onion Anchovy Olive Tartine, although called a tartine, is actually a crispy baked bread. The sweet onions combined with the salty anchovies make a perfect match.
Japanese Shimeji Mushroom Tart
This dish was outstanding. The tart crust was flaky and crispy, topped with a generous amount of mushrooms. Underneath the mushrooms were finely chopped mushroom bits, providing two different textures. It was incredibly fragrant, and the creamy special sauce drizzled on top made it irresistible.
Chicory Salad
The presentation resembled a blooming flower, very beautiful! Inside were cherry tomatoes, walnuts, cheese, and chicory. The chicory had a slight bitterness, but when paired with the sweetness of the fragrant pear, it was very refreshing overall.
French Pan-Seared Whole Sole
The presentation wasn't very appealing because the sole looked a bit intimidating! The waiter deboned the fish after we took a photo and then served it. The fish was tender, juicy, and very fragrant. If you love fish, you must try this. The creamy spinach was tender and green, and the large potatoes were filling. It was a creative main course combination!
Apricot Tart with Pistachio Sorbet
The apricots were sweet and fragrant, and the pistachio ice cream was rich. The highlight was the tart crust, which was flaky and crispy, very well done.
This small bistro truly embodies the French style. Every dish is beautifully presented and surprisingly delicious. No wonder, despite its inconvenient location, it still attracts many people for dinner.

'Original Fried Chicken with Bone' HK$178
The fried chicken is a whole cut piece fried, large portions, the fried chicken is very juicy enough, the fried skin is crispy enough, the original taste Every Korean fried chicken is a bit different, this one has a hint of vanilla and salt, not It will be very salty 👍🏻
『Grilled Pork with Rice Set』HK$93
Served with omelet on top, pork grilled fragrant, and different side dishes, plus a Korean spicy sauce, very tasty!!! There was also a kelp soup, a salad, a few plates of kimchi, folded together Eat very rich 🎉

A Magical Day at Hong Kong Disneyland 🐭🏰🇭🇰
Visiting Disneyland was one of the top things on my list when I visited Hong Kong. Here are some of my tips to ensure you have a magical day!
MUST VISIT ATTRACTIONS:
🌟 World of Frozen - Step into Elsa & Anna’s kingdom of Arendelle where you can experience a storybook water ride Frozen Ever After and the high speed rollercoaster Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.
🌟 Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars - I’m not being dramatic when I say that this is THE BEST attraction at any Disney park. It’s so much fun. I went on it 3 times!
🌟 “it’s a small world” - A visit to Disneyland is not complete without riding this classic.
🌟 RC Racer - a thrilling, gravity-defying experience. Jump in the car and race back and forth on the U shaped track!
🌟 Jungle River Cruise - Set sail on an adventure down the river with your own guided tour through the jungle.
🌟 Mickey and Friends Street Celebration - Check the app for parade times. A Mickey-led train themed parade with all of your favourite characters!
🌟 “Momentous” Nighttime Spectacular - Stay in the park after sunset to see all of the beautiful lights and the fireworks show on the castle!
BEFORE YOU VISIT:
✅ Download the Official Hong Kong Disneyland App ~ here you can buy tickets and premier access passes, check show times and wait times for attractions!
✅ Bring your ID or passport to enter the park.
✅ Don’t forget to bring a power bank!
✅ Wear suitable shoes to avoid discomfort.
‼️ I recommend buying an early entry pass into the park to experience World of Frozen without the crowds.

A.O.M. with No Seating Time Limit
A.O.M., which is usually packed on weekday evenings, has an owner who insists on serving dishes one by one because hot food is the best state for tasting.
The A.O.M. salad, loaded with crab sticks and roe, and the refreshing and smooth broccoli basil soup are healthy choices for appetizers. If you just recovered and don't feel like drinking alcohol, you can order a Ginger Lemon that's flavorful but not too strong as a vitamin boost.
For those who like indulgent food, the cheese bread balls are a must-try. The hot bread balls come with a cheese center that's almost like a melting heart, making your mouth water just by looking at them.
The grilled squid is impressive for its super tender and soft texture, and the tentacles are not dry or tough at all.
The seafood broth with clams is fresh and sand-free, and the pine mushroom crab meat and crab paste rice in fish broth is fresh, with the fish broth being sweet and not greasy.
Pouring the fish broth from an iron teapot adds a sense of ceremony and a strong Japanese flavor. You can enjoy it at a very reasonable price, offering great value for money.
The shrimp paste spaghetti features bouncy prawns and al dente pasta covered in a flavorful sauce. The pasta is garnished with a generous amount of alfalfa sprouts, adding a refreshing touch.
Grilled Pork Belly
The Dutch pork belly is grilled to a golden brown, juicy with each bite, and the fragrance of the fat is irresistible. The lemongrass coconut milk sauce is specially tailored for the pork belly.
The croissant waffles come with caramel crisps and a Japanese MATCHA flavor. Since everyone has their own preference, ordering two servings of croissant waffles for 4 people to share is just right.
The advantage of A.O.M. is that there is no time limit, so if you want to have a comfortable gathering with friends and enjoy a meal, it's best to make a reservation beforehand.
3D Latte Art Drinks
This time, I tried the Cat 3D Latte Art Chocolate🐱$68 and the Earl Grey Chocolate $55, which are really special! The Cat 3D Latte Art Chocolate is so cute, and the cat pattern that is drawn is very clear. The Earl Grey Chocolate has a subtle aroma of Earl Grey tea, which perfectly blends with the sweetness of the chocolate, making the taste very balanced.
Another dish is the Owl's Energetic All-Day Breakfast $148, which includes fresh fruit yogurt with bran, a healthy salad, cheese sausages, mentaiko tamagoyaki, large grilled mushrooms, Parma ham, and Belgian handmade waffles. The fresh fruit yogurt with bran is very refreshing, and adding the healthy salad makes it even more nutritious and healthy. The rich cheese flavor of the cheese sausages and the rich Japanese flavor of the mentaiko tamagoyaki are delightful! The Belgian handmade waffles have a crunchy texture, which is very satisfying!
For dessert, I chose the Tokachi Red Bean Belgian Waffle with Japanese Special Black Syrup and Homemade Matcha Ice Cream $88. The Belgian waffle has a crunchy texture, and together with the Tokachi red beans and Japanese special black syrup, the taste is sweet and rich. The homemade matcha ice cream has a rich matcha flavor, which, when paired with the waffle and red beans, makes the taste even more rich and layered.

Salmon Tatar 65🍞 The bottom is sourdough bread, salmon puree is decorated on the surface, plus avocado, 🥑 smooth and tempting.
Sour Cream Smoked Salmon Sandwich 75, 🐟 is the original slice of smoked salmon, 🥪 the sandwich with sour cream is very fragrant, is sourdough bread crispy, smooth and tasty.
Hong Kong style southern suckling pork hands with German pickled cabbage 78🐷 I think this combination is good! The pork hand with German pickled cabbage is sweet and sour.
Hot chocolate 43🍫 is smooth and surprising.

Hong Kong: Monster Building Marvel 👀🇭🇰
I stumbled upon Quarry Bay's Monster Building during a spur-of-the-moment visit, thanks to my adventurous friends who insisted we explore it before our flight. And oh boy, am I glad we did!
Navigating our way through the bustling streets, we finally arrived at this architectural wonder after a short walk from the MTR station. A friendly local noticed our curious gazes and kindly directed us to the stairs leading to the building's entrance.
Standing before the imposing yet captivating structure, we couldn't resist snapping some photos like many others who were also there. It's worth noting that while the Monster Building is a must-see, it's still private property. So, remember to be respectful, keep noise to a minimum, and adhere to the rules posted, including no drones allowed.
Visiting this unique landmark was truly an unforgettable experience, adding another layer of wonder to my Hong Kong adventure. Make sure to add it to your itinerary and soak in the marvel of the Monster Building! #QuarryBayMarvel #HongKongHiddenGem #MonsterBuildingDiscovery #quarrybay #hk

Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival Launches Martial Arts Drama Costume and Prop Exhibition
Organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), the second Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival (Cultural Festival) adopts the theme 'Both Literary and Martial Arts', featuring a variety of exciting events. Among them, the 'Both Literary and Martial Arts' series includes the 'Classic Martial Arts Drama Costume and Prop Exhibition', which starts on April 17th at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre lobby. The exhibition showcases around thirty pieces of headwear, costumes, and props from television martial arts dramas spanning from the 1970s to the millennium, allowing the audience to relive the classics and experience the martial arts sentiment.
Many well-known martial arts drama series have been adapted from the works of local famous martial arts novelists, including Jin Yong's 'The Return of the Condor Heroes', 'Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils', 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes', 'The Smiling, Proud Wanderer', Huang Yi's 'A Step into the Past', and Liang Yusheng's 'The White-Haired Witch'. Martial arts TV dramas and their related theme songs and soundtracks bring the literary and martial arts scenes from the novels to life. These classic moments have always been an important element of Hong Kong's pop culture, accompanying many viewers as they grew up.
Selected exhibits for this exhibition include: the hero costume worn by Yang Guo in 'The Return of the Condor Heroes'; the elegant and ethereal white dress worn by Little Dragon Girl; the pink outfit worn by Zhou Zhiruo in 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber'; and the costume of Princess Changping (Ah Jiu) in 'Sword Stained with Royal Blood'. Prop exhibits include the Dragon Saber from 'The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber', which caused a bloodbath; the Dog Beating Staff, the symbol of the Beggar's Sect leader in 'The Legend of the Condor Heroes'; the flute of 'Eastern Heretic' Huang Yaoshi; the sword of Lian Ni Chang, the protagonist of 'The White-Haired Witch'; the fan of the male protagonist in 'Chu Liuxiang'; and the knife of Li Xunhuan in 'Sentimental Swordsman, Ruthless Sword'. The exhibition runs until May 5th and will move to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum on May 8th to continue until October 7th.
To enrich the audience's experience, the 'Both Literary and Martial Arts' series also includes the 'Literary Songs and Martial Music Concert'. Veteran musician Au Sui Keung will perform many popular martial arts drama theme songs and his classic hits live. Each concert will also feature performances by young singer Au Hing Chun and a special guest. Additionally, there will be a song request segment, allowing the audience to revisit their favorite tunes.
Edible Flowers and Herbs Exhibition at Hong Kong Park
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold an Edible Flowers and Herbs Exhibition at the Forsgate Conservatory in Hong Kong Park from April 22 (Monday), allowing citizens to closely appreciate the beauty of various edible flowers and herbs of the spring season.
Hong Kong's spring climate is mild with gradually lengthening daylight hours, which is suitable for the growth of different types of edible flowers and herbs. This themed exhibition displays more than 500 plants of different forms of spring edible flowers and herbs, including fragrant marigolds, dwarf hibiscus, dryland lotus, borage, calendula, and a variety of herbs, etc.
The flowers and leaves of fragrant marigolds have a rich aroma and are all edible. The tender leaves can be used for tea brewing and cooking, and planting them in a herb garden is most appropriate.
The light pink flowers of the dwarf hibiscus are small and exquisite, and although they only last for a short day, they bloom continuously.
The flowers, leaves, and rhizomes of the dryland lotus (also known as golden lotus) are all edible, with a taste as sweet and slightly spicy as mustard, and a crisp and juicy texture, also with a unique scent.
As for herbs, the humid spring is particularly suitable for the growth of mint family plants. Common types include green mint (also known as spearmint), peppermint, grapefruit mint, etc.
In addition to displaying more than 30 types of spring edible flowers and herbs, the exhibition also sets up panels to introduce their characteristics, planting tips, and propagation methods. The exhibition will be held from April 22 to June 10, open daily from 9 am to 5 pm at the Forsgate Conservatory, 19 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong Park. Admission is free, and the public is welcome to visit.

Hong Kong Space Museum presents the new 3D dome film 'Polar Extremes 3D'.
Starting from April 1st (Monday), the Hong Kong Space Museum's Stanley Ho Space Theatre will be screening the new 3D dome film 'Polar Extremes 3D', taking audiences on an exploration of Antarctica.
Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and windiest place on Earth. 'Polar Extremes 3D' will lead audiences deep into the Antarctic animal world, starting with a dive beneath the ice into a vibrant underwater world, then returning to the surface to join a large penguin colony, and finally enjoying what may be the most whales ever seen on screen. Whales play a key role in mitigating climate change, and the film not only provides a visual spectacle for viewers but also helps them understand the impact of human overhunting of whales on climate change. With global temperatures rising, the film prompts humans to reflect and take action to protect the Antarctic ecosystem, to prevent climate change from disrupting its balance and further affecting the whole world.
The program is 24 minutes long and will be shown until January 13, 2025. Screening times are 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM on weekdays; and 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. Ticket prices are 24 HKD (front seats) and 32 HKD (back seats). Tickets are now available at the Hong Kong Space Museum Box Office and URBTIX.
The Hong Kong Space Museum is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, and is closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays).
Why I love Hong Kong! 🇭🇰
I lived next to Hong Kong for several years and I would visit almost every weekend so it’s no surprise it’s one of my favorite cities! The city is such a fantastic mix of East meets West! 🌍
In the hustle and bustle of the city you’ll find thousands of shops and restaurants. When you’re not eating or shopping, chase the Hong Kong Tram around or, better yet, ride it for around 2HKD! It’s a great way to see the city and take some cool photos! 🚋
Take a break from the city and walk up Victoria Peak! ⛰️ I’d recommend walking up rather taking the tram as there can often be a line up. The walk isn’t that bad and you’ll be rewarded with some great views at the top. Then you can take the tram back down!
I want to visit Hong Kong because I love getting lost in its concert jungle before taking a break in its fantastic nature 🌳

Low-Key Popular Indian Cuisine (Taza)
It turns out there is a highly popular Indian restaurant in Tai Kok Tsui with authentic flavors that are quite a surprise✨
Classic Margherita pizza for 89, enjoy it hot and stretchy! 🧀 Rich cheese, crispy thin crust, utterly satisfying.
Beef Korma for 45, the flavor is great for mixing with rice or pairing with Indian flatbread, 🐮 and the beef chunks are quite large.
Lamb Doner for 65, the lamb is temptingly crispy, 🌯 complemented with fresh shredded lettuce and tomato for a refreshing taste.
Garden salad for 45, the dressing is tangy and appetizing, 🥗 crisp and fresh.

Take a value for money ferry to explore this island with a quiet beach. A place where you can chill, hike, eat and even do a short cave exploration. Definitely worth the visit!

Regala Skycity Hotel - Hong Kong
We had a fantastic layover at Regala Skycity Hotel. It is located right inside Hong Kong International Airport. It only took us five minutes by taxi.
The hotel also offers free shuttle bus service every 30 minutes from early morning until midnight.
The room was very comfortable and clean, we had a really good night’s sleep.
I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a hotel near the airport for a pleasant layover.
