This visit was to check out the new Zurbiyaan - a traditional Yemeni dish that is known for its rich flavors and aromatic spices. It is a type of spiced rice dish similar to biryani but with distinctive regional variations. We also tried chicken 65 and lollipops which were so flavoursome! From the moment you step in you’ll be in for a treat with traditional Majlis seating which we loved! The menu revolves around Hyberadi dishes along with Mandi, a traditional Arabian dish where rice, meat, and a blend of aromatic spices come together to create a symphony of flavors. One of my favorite rides at Tokyo Disneyland is "It's a Small World." This is an amazing place not only for kids but also for adults! 🇯🇵 Did I not mention the Osaka Umeda Sky Building to you? You'll be amazed by the number of times you can ascend and descend the escalator tunnel just to capture that perfect shot. And that's even before we paid for the entrance ticket. Of course, since you're here, you absolutely must visit the sky roof as well. It's not just about getting amazing pictures, but also about experiencing a breathtaking view that you don't get to see at ground level. It's truly spectacular. Let me share with you my favourite day in Japan is when I wore a Traditional Kimono for the first time! The photos may not all be perfect; some might even be hilariously awkward. However, each one holds significant sentimental value for me. It was a full day of walking around in our kimonos. We started at the Kimono Rental place call 着物レンタル 蓮-REN in the morning for the fitting. Our package includes hairstyling and a full day rental kimono set (up till evening), which cost us around 6000 yen which is a pretty reasonable price, I must say. We didn't want to let our lovely hairstyles go to waste. If it weren't for the encouragement of my travel-mate, I probably wouldn't have ventured out on trains and explored different places in my kimono, struggling with those traditional Japanese slippers but it was definitely worthwhile. Haha! If you like exploring beautiful places for insta-worthy shot, go to this stretch of road near Zojoji Temple, where we took photos with Tokyo Tower in the background. If you're interested, feel free to look it up on Google maps. P.S. 📍Da Nang (+ Ba Na Hills), Vietnam In contrast to Hoi An, Da Nang is full of hundreds of sky scrapers and modern buildings that line the sea front. Particularly, I liked the modern restaurants, cafes and bars that Da Nang had to offer. Although it is nice to live the cultural, local life whilst travelling, it is also nice to be a tourist & go to places that are totally made for tourists, i.e. an Irish Pub that we went to, called ‘The Shamrock’😂. The highlight of Da Nang was our trip to Ba Na Hills / Sun world. Although tickets are expensive on a backpacker’s budget, it was something that I really wanted to do. The cable car up to the hills is the most scenic, breathtaking view I’ve ever seen. There are so many Instagramable places, which me and Ellie like taking pictures of, but not pictures with (we always seem to rock up with no makeup and messy hair😂). On a headland to the north of St Andrews stand the ruins of the city's castle, the main residence of the bishops and archbishops of St Andrews and the focal point of the church in medieval Scotland. Explore the underground 16th-century siege mine and counter-mine, and the 'bottle dungeon', one of the most infamous castle prisons in medieval Britain, which was cut out of the solid rock. John Knox and George Wishart may have been imprisoned in this dank and airless space, and this is where its believed Cardinal Beaton’s body was kept when he was murdered in 1546. There is a visitor centre, with wheelchair access, and a display with multi-sensory aspects for visitors with visual impairments. What will reward you at the top is possibly the most beautiful sight in Indonesia. It’s only a 1 hour hike to get to the view point at the top, but it’s pretty steep with unstable ground. To get to Padar island you will have to take a boat from the main land of Labuan Bajo which takes around 3 hours, but is usually combined with a trip to Komodo National Park. Take a look at the tour operators on Labuan Bajo and see which day trip best suits your schedule. No trip to Komodo is complete without a selfie with the world’s largest lizard, and these are almost guaranteed in these sacred islands. The best place to see them is Rinca Island. Mostly known for its huge population of manta rays, it’s also home to an abundance of marine life and huge populations of corals. The best way to hit all of the top dive spots in Komodo is to go on a liveaboard so you can reach the further out dive spots that aren’t accessible from Labuan Bajo. The best way to experience Komodo is on a liveaboard. These begin from 3 days, but 7 days is optimal to experience all the best sites! Komodo liveaboards are also a much more affordable compare to the other place like Raja Ampat. One of the best spot I highly recommended is to hike on to Padar Island. Getting There - From Singapore you’re going to take a flight to Hanoi for 3hrs and then another 5-6 hours bus ride for SAPA. it’s one of the most enjoyable ride you can experience, looking out the window it’s just full of mountains and hills . Attractions - lots of tribal attractions for you to visit and get to know the Hmong tribes living there, although it’s a rural city they have very good English speaking people. Hotels - the best you can do is stay at a hostel or HOME STAY, get to know the locals. Saw this tour and found it ticked all the boxes including two bucket list items to tick off, Mt Fuji and the Shinkansen. It was a bit of a hoof to the pick up point for us but thats no problem. The tour staff were friendly and helpful and explained everything we needed to know before boarding the coach. Our driver Mr Kato was pleasant as was Take, our knowledgeable tour guide. It started off a clear day, and we could see Mt Fuji from the highway before we left Tokyo. Take gave us lots of interesting and relevant facts and through in a little humour too. We had enough pee stops and photo stops as the clouds started to creep in but we got great views of Mt Fuji, the 5th station was closed due to snow but that was fine the 4th station had great views too. We drove to our lunch stop and had the traditional menu. There was heaps of delicious food and we didn’t even bother with dinner after the tour we were so full. We had the Drive to Hakone and lake Ashi and again Take gave us lots of relevant information as to the area and the hot springs. It was quite cloudy by now and we had our trip on the lake to the cable car. The mountain was really cloudy and you couldn’t see the top but what the hell. We got to the top we couldn’t see much and it was blowing a gale and snowing but we were rugged up and managed to get to the shrine and have a prayer of thanks. We made it to terra firma without incident and headed to the station and our trip to Tokyo station on the Shinkansen. This was another bucket list item to tick off. It was a fabulous end to a great day. We got to Tokyo station and can’t the subway to Shinjuku without incident thanks to Take’s instructions.
