20240826pm: 1. Catherine Garden is located outside Catherine Palace. Catherine Palace is a famous palace complex in the southern suburbs of St. Petersburg, Russia. It is also known as Imperial Village and Pushkin Village. It is one of the four major palaces in Russia, covering an area of 250,000 square meters. It was built by the famous Russian monarch Peter the Great in 1717 as a summer palace for his "Cinderella" wife Catherine I. It was designed by Italian architect Rastrelli, but Peter the Great died before it was completed. His daughter, Queen Elizabeth I, rebuilt it into its current style in 1741. It was severely damaged during World War II. The restored palace is magnificent and magnificent, among which the Amber Palace is the most famous; the lake and green land outside the palace are integrated. It was listed in the World Heritage List in 1990 and opened to the public in 2003. 2. The garden originally had a geometric layout, but Catherine II converted it into the then-popular English-style garden. The northwest side is mainly green space, and the south is a large lake, about 600 meters long and 250 meters wide, with many water birds in the lake. This area has: ① Admiralty: 3 red buildings on the south bank of the lake, two floors ② Hall on the Island: a rectangular green-roofed building on the island in the lake ③ Chesme Column: a white memorial column standing in the lake to commemorate the victory of the Chesme naval battle between Russia and Turkey in 1770 ④ Marble Bridge: a stone bridge on the west bank of the lake, with a roof ⑤ Turkish Bath: an Islamic mosque-style building on the west bank of the lake ⑥ Pyramid: an Egyptian-style building on the west bank of the lake ⑦ Red Cascade: a waterfall on the west bank of the lake, with red towers at both ends ⑧ Tower Ruin: a tower ruin next to the west gate ⑨ Orlov Gate: the west gate, shaped like a triumphal arch ⑩ Granite Terrace Terrace: A high observation deck in the northwest green area, where you can enjoy the floral gardening patterns below the deck ⑪Girl-with-a-Pitcher Fountain: A sculpture on the north bank of the lake, with a trickle of milk flowing out of an overturned milk bottle ⑫Concert Hall: A light yellow single-story building in the northwest green area ⑬Kitchen Ruin: A building ruin in the northwest green area ⑭Creaking Summer-House: A "mountain"-shaped red building in the northwest green area and the north end of the scenic area ⑮Evening Hall: A light yellow rectangular building in the northwest green area ⑯Alexander Monument: A monument in the northwest green area ⑰Caghur Obelisk: A spire-shaped monument in the northwest green area, commemorating the battle in 1770 when the Russian army defeated the main Turkish force on the banks of the Caghur River, a tributary of the Danube River
