

Anglo-boer War Museum

The museum has a large collection of items related to the Boer War. There are many large paintings and when you consider that there are women and children there, one of the Boer people who was nailed to the banks of the Moder under the British attack is very moving. This, of course, led to General Cronie's surrender at the Battle of Padberg, where prisoners of war were arrested in overseas camps with a large number of handicrafts, including those made in St. Helena, Ceylon, India and Bermuda, and in camps in South Africa. The Women's Monument depicts two women, one holding a baby, and it is very memorable because the ashes of British woman Emily Hobbhouse are buried there and she did a lot to help people who suffered during the war. Of course, this does not represent the "best period" of British history!


