SHPE is excited to announce a new program series focused on mental health awareness and support for our members. “Sana Sana con SHPE” will explore a variety of intersectional issues related to mental health and its impact on education, career, and familia through three informative webinars and an interactive workshop.
The series kicked off in Spring 2024 with “Mental Health 101”, providing an introduction to key mental health topics for the Latino community. You can access the recording of that first session below! Participants will learn to identify signs of distress, discuss how to support others, and discover helpful resources.
Building on this foundation, the Fall 2024 webinar “Addressing Strengths & Barriers” will dive deeper into the unique strengths and challenges Latinos face around mental health, with insights from Honeywell speakers on work-life balance and preparing for internship experiences.
Spring 2025 brings “Navigating Mental Health Care”, to help participants understand how to find culturally competent mental health support that fits their needs.
The series culminates in Fall 2025 with an impactful storytelling workshop, presented in collaboration with NAMI Compartiendo Esperanza. Through the power of “cuento”, participants will put the webinar learnings into practice and work to break down barriers to accessing mental health support.
Open to all SHPE members as well as Honeywell employees and interns, this important program aims to increase understanding, build community, and connect participants to valuable mental health resources.
We hope you’ll join us to learn, share, and support each other in strengthening our collective wellbeing.
