Our collaborative RE-INCITE project, led by Wirtschaftsförderung Raum Heilbronn GmbH, has been selected as one of the 6 small-scale projects from 39 applicants to receive funding under the Interreg Alpine Space program! The project focuses on transforming industrial waste into valuable secondary materials, helping reduce CO₂ emissions and decrease dependence on raw resources. We are doing so by empowering clusters to support municipalities in creating and implementing circular economy (CE) value chains across the Alpine region, alongside our project partners COMET – Cluster della Metalmeccanica del FVG, Business Upper Austria - OÖ. Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH, Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH, and Wirtschaftsförderung Raum Heilbronn GmbH. Last Thursday, we met at the Center Rog Creative Hub in Ljubljana, where we had a discussion on the possibilities for private financing of the economy based on the principles of circularity in Slovenia. The opening of the event was led by Mateja Dermastia from Anteja, who in her inspirational keynote talked about the potential in the circular bioeconomy of Slovenia. She delivered feasible business stories, including designing dairy manufacture’s by-products and brewery’s spent yeast into nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals proteins, and making biochar from flood-affected timber. 💡 Simon Franko from BASF Slovenia spoke about their attempts to incorporate biobased materials into the box and detergent products and gave an insight on a sustainable mass balance approach while sourcing the materials used in their products. 🧼 The panel discussion focused on the challenges and obstacles to financing in Slovenia. Investment funds pointed out the lack of ecosystem support, while banks emphasised that they are ready to provide funding, but projects must have legit carbon footprint measurements and be aligned with the European Green Deal and other EU legislation before they can offer green loans.  💶 This was followed by the speech of an ECBF representative Clara Martinez Velandia who highlighted that investments in the circular bioeconomy are currently in a phase of stabilisation after the boom in 2021. 🔍What a great possibility to promote Macedonian Textile Industry as frontrunner in circular textile production during the Circular Textile Days on 18/19 September in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 As part of the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) Anteja’s key expert Jaap Zandenberg workshop supported the Macedonian Textile cluster 🥼and related members how to communicate circular practices. At the beginning, Natasha Sivevska presented how the Macedonian Textile Cluster succeeded in supporting cluster actors to operate more sustainable and circular. Finishing with a 📢Call for Action inviting global brands and international buyers how to jointly tackle the challenge of textile circularity. ⚪️ Later on, Jaap Zandbergen initiated prearranged meetings between Macedonian textile manufacturers and international brands to deepen the talks on how to best cooperate for a more sustainable textile production. For Anteja, it was an honour and a great pleasure work with Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) and the Macedonian Textile Cluster on sustainability and circular textile production issues 🌐. Amazing to see that such efforts pay off and are continued by various ANTEJA ECG projects in Western Balkan, Central Asia. Na dogodku bodo spregovorili ključni strokovnjaki iz industrije in financ, vključno s Claro Martinez Velandia (ECBF), Simonom Frankom (BASF), Matejo Dermastio (Anteja ECG) in Nino Dremelj (Vesna VC), ki bodo osvetlili priložnosti za zasebne investicije v krožnem biogospodarstvu. Successful 2 days of workshops completed for SIPPO Serbia , implemented by ANTEJA ECG 🌿 in the Privredna komora Srbije | Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia to pilot the Sustainability Readiness Assesment (SRA) Tool ⏱️🇷🇸 🗓️ Day 1: Testing & Training of the CCIS on the SRA Tool Presentation and Pilot Testing of the SRA tool aligned with VSME ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) in order for CCIS to serve their companies to assess their performance on ESG and 17 UN SDG aspects. Valuable exchange of ideas and preparatorry discussions for Day 2. 👏🏼 🗓️Day 2: Sustainability Readiness Assesment for Selected Companies On Day 2, participants from industries including furniture, natural cosmetics, organic food production, wood & paper, and textiles attended. The introduction to sustainability was highly relevant, sparking significant interest. During the workshop, six companies completed self-assessments, revealing that many were more sustainable than they had initially realized. This positive outcome encourages these businesses to increase public awareness of their sustainability efforts and begin setting specific goals for further improvement in targeted sustainability areas.🌳 🌍Thank you to everyone who participated!
