Innovation is the heartbeat of the photonics industry—but achieving it at scale demands the right strategies and tools.👇 In a new op-ed for Laser Focus World, our CTO Črt Valentinčič dives into how modular, open-source platforms are transforming the way photonics companies approach measurement and feedback systems. These platforms enable faster prototyping, seamless integration, and greater independence from costly external providers. While traditional measurement solutions often come with limitations like high costs and inflexibility, open-source technology is redefining the landscape—offering unmatched flexibility, enhanced efficiency, and cost-effective solutions that empower businesses to thrive in a fast-changing industry. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Laser Focus World and Sally Johnson for providing a platform to explore this pivotal topic. 🙌 https://hubs.la/Q02-jZqW0

  • #Electronica2024 excitement is far from over! We had a dynamic (and fittingly fruitful, like a Pitaya) interview with Electromaker, diving into our latest innovations, including the game-changing Click Shield modular extensions. Building on our platform’s already extensive functionality, the Click Shield opens up new possibilities. With its powerful multi-channel measurement system and seamless mikroBUS™ connectivity, engineers can effortlessly integrate diverse peripherals, making it the ultimate adaptable prototyping solution. Perfect for pushing boundaries and unleashing creativity! 👇 W// MikroElektronika

W.A.V.E.S Workshop: A Journey into Embedded Systems in Munich Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the W.A.V.E.S (Working with Advanced Variables and Embedded Systems) workshop, organized by EESTEC LC Munich, from November 10–15, 2024. Hosted at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the workshop provided an outstanding environment to learn, explore, and collaborate. During this event, we delved into exciting topics, including: - Hands-on experience with the Red Pitaya microcontroller. - Working with various sensors such as the LYRA 24P Bluetooth module, LIS2DUXS12 motion sensor, and TEMP&HUM 24 Click for measuring temperature and humidity. - Designing and implementing a PID controller to maintain a stable temperature at a predetermined level. A highlight of the week was visiting the Electronica Fair, the leading trade fair for electronics, where we experienced cutting-edge innovations firsthand. During our visit, we explored: - The Red Pitaya, where we deepened our understanding of the device and it's pontential applications. - Analog Devices, where Simona Di Domenico guided us through their impressive display of groundbreaking sensors and technologies. A special thank-you to Simona and her team for her time, expertise, and enthusiasm in sharing Analog Devices' innovations. - Many other companies showcasing innovations across diverse fields of electronics and engineering. I am gradeful to Andraz Pirc and Žiga Agostini from Red Pitaya for their exceptional teaching and support throughout the workshop. A special thanks to the fantastic organizing team — Christa Ward, @Rosa, and Tiemo Schmidt from LC Munich— for their warm hospitality and dedication to creating such a memorable experience. Lastly, to all the participants: thank you for your collaboration and for making this journey so memorable. The connections I made and the knowledge I gained during this week will stay with me for years to come #WAVESWorkshop #RedPitaya #ElectronicaMunich #EESTEC #EngineeringInnovation

This is not a goodbye but a heartfelt farewell, with the hope of meeting such amazing people again. Words can hardly capture my feelings, but the pictures below tell the story. electronicaFair 2024 was an incredible experience surrounded by like-minded individuals, immersed in a fantastic atmosphere, and engaging in conversations about electronics and technology. I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for the Elektor International Media vibes and their invaluable contributions to the #makers community. Being live on stage with Brian Tristam Williams and Stuart Cording was an unforgettable highlight! The discussions with #MaxImagination and #GreatScott were equally enriching and inspiring.😎 For the first time, I had the pleasure of meeting my JLCPCB family in person, and it was the perfect occasion to share great energy and cool vibes. A special thanks to the Red Pitaya team and Mateja Lampe Rupnik, who introduced me to her incredible crew. Their passion truly stood out! 🤟 Shoutout to Danny Ehlerding from MYBOTSHOP GmbH for the fascinating bot animations and to Alexandra Covor Zalmotek an inspiring PCB artist who has left a mark on my network. A quick "hi" from Petr Dvořák was not enough for me but hopefully we meet again soon 😁 None of this would have been possible without the amazing support from #Asma (an #elektor member) Her efforts made everything a reality, and I am endlessly grateful! Until next time… #diy #maker #circuit #creative #electronics #hardware #engineer #engineering #tech
