Meet the team - PRUSA! 🤩 Recently, we started a new 'meet the team' concept by introducing our robotic arm—but we couldn’t leave out another tireless teammate: our #PRUSA 3D Printer! 🖨️ Its stats speak for themselves—over 9 km of filament printed and 107 days of nonstop work. That’s more than 3.5 months straight of printing!👏 These numbers show just how important this little helper is during our 'before-launch' process. From perfecting designs to testing every detail, it’s all about making sure our devices are ready for the real world. When we were assembling our first MERATCH Water Level Sensors in Bratislava back in 2021, we never imagined a day they’d be measuring water levels in the ‘Kingdom of Bhutan,’ nestled in the eastern Himalayas. 🇧🇹 😮 Bhutan, known as Druk Yul or the ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon 🐉,’ is a country of breathtaking beauty but also immense vulnerability to climate change. Its unique geography makes it prone to extreme weather events like flash floods, erosion, wildfires, and landslides. To fit in with Bhutan’s needs, our #GOSPACE engineers adjusted the settings to operate on frequencies available in the local environment. I’m especially proud that our sensors will be deployed here to make a real difference. They’ll proactively monitor water levels and provide early warnings, helping mitigate the risks of flooding and protect lives and livelihoods even in such complicated mountainous areas. ⛰️ 🦾 It’s an incredible feeling to know that technology developed in Slovakia is playing a role in safeguarding one of the most extraordinary places on Earth. P.S. Our sensors really do get to travel the world! With every unique destination, I’m finding myself more and more jealous of their adventures. Big thanks to our talented mechatronic engineer, Jozef Vindiš, who recently put it into action. We have a real reason to be excited as #GOSPACE LABS has won a highly competitive R&D grant from the Slovak Research and Development Agency (SRDA) for our groundbreaking 'Internet of Water' project. What is SRDA (APVV - Agentúra na podporu výskumu a vývoja) ? The SRDA is Slovakia’s top national grant agency, promoting cutting-edge research and development in science and technology. They support projects with rigorous scientific reviews, exceptional professionalism, and the potential for significant impact—key for tackling global challenges like climate change. Why does this matter? Water is the lifeblood of our planet, but it’s at risk. Pollution, climate change, and overflowing sewage systems threaten our precious resources, leading to thirst, floods, and the loss of pristine mountain springs. Picture a gentle river turning into a torrent, taps running dry, and springs losing their purity. Staviame výstražný systém pred bleskovými povodňami. V rámci Slovensko-Poľského projektu FLOPRES sme ľuďom v Prešovskom kraji v troch povodiach v okresoch Svidník, Bardejov a Sabinov zabezpečili čas. Práve ten je nesmierne dôležitý, pretože vďaka nemu dokážu ľudia v ohrozených častiach krajiny rýchlo reagovať. Na mosty cez vodné toky (aj tie maličké, čo sú vysoko, také sú najlepšie) sme nainštalovali naše IoT merače hladiny vody. Tie zbierajú dáta a vďaka nim vieme ako sa rieka správa v čase vplyvom zrážok alebo náhleho upchatia toku spravidla pod mostom kvôli nánosu organického odpadu. Tieto dáta ďalej vyhodnocujeme, spresnujeme, modulujem a staviame na ňom výstražný systém. Toto je naša misia. Inštalácia je jednoduchá, montáž flexibilná, životnosť batérie sa meria v rokoch, senzory sú odolné a čo je najdôležitejšie, dáta sú presné. Zatiaľ pomáhame konkrétne v troch povodiach na území Prešovského samosprávneho kraja, no veríme, že pomôžeme aj v iných regiónoch.
