New IFF SDK Humpback Whale release Today MRTech SK announces a new release of its flagship product IFF SDK under the Humpback Whale badge. This release introduces new features for high-performance image processing SDK for Machine Vision, such as: - undistortion filter and lens distortion estimation tool with a lens profiler sample application, - auto-gain functionality that added to auto-white balance and auto-exposure component, - expanded encoder component functionality to support encoding of monochrome images on NVIDIA Jetson platform and others. Low latency 8K streaming with AGX Orin This time I have measured the performance of 8K streaming from the same high-end XIMEA camera, but for a different edge configuration. I ran the IFF SDK sample on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin. Low latency 8K streaming Today I have measured the performance of 8K streaming from high-resolution XIMEA camera. For this I used MRTech IFF SDK installed on a host Windows computer equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti card. 65 ms Glass-to-Glass latency at 850 kilometres distance over secure Internet connection! When you're tele-operating equipment (trucks, forklifts, construction machinery) hundreds of kilometres away from you, it's vital that your video system delivers low Glass-to-Glass latency from the camera mounted on the equipment to the operator's screen. We assembled such a video system using MRTech SK out-of-box solution with IFF SDK and demonstrated an ultra-low latency of 65 ms for transmitting images over 850 km. This setup also features security of encrypted VPN connection provided by WireGuard protocol and flexibility of wireless network connection. Here's how it was achieved by the steps of the image processing pipeline: 1. Image acquisition of FullHD raw images from a XIMEA machine vision camera. 2. Processing of the images (including H.264/H.265 video encoding) on NVIDIA Jetson Orin system powered by MRTech IFF SDK. 3. Streaming images over commercial 5G cellular connection from our office near Bratislava to our VPN server located at the Hetzner data center in Falkenstein town in Saxony state of Germany and back again using the RTSP (or alternatively WebRTC) network protocol. 4. Receiving over our office Wi-Fi connection and displaying images on a laptop screen while measuring the resulting Glass-to-Glass latency with GPS digital clock. The measured result is 60-70 ms Glass-to-Glass latency.
