We pave the way towards a cleaner, greener, and litter-free world. Founded in 2017, Sensoneo has undergone an impressive journey from a startup to a global leader in smart waste solutions. Our goal from the beginning has been to help cities, businesses, and countries cope with the biggest challenges of waste management – lack of efficiency and transparency. We started with one product: a waste fill-level monitoring solution that consisted of sensors measuring waste levels in bins and a smart waste management software system. Over the years, we have expanded and perfected our portfolio of services, which now range from waste and collection monitoring, route planning, and factory waste management to take-back systems and deposit return scheme integration. We are based in Bratislava, the capital of the EU member country Slovakia, where we conduct all our research and development. Our portfolio consists of hardware, software, and consultancies, enabling us to provide our customers with comprehensive end-to-end solutions. All our hardware products are manufactured in the EU. As the sole company worldwide, Sensoneo has successfully implemented software for Deposit Return Schemes (DRS) in more than five countries, achieving a recycling performance exceeding 90%. Additionally, Sensoneo has designed tools to automate waste collection in factories, enabling its customers to improve the waste diversion rate and circularity of the location. The main benefits our products bring are data-driven waste management, cost savings, emissions reduction, more efficient waste collection, improved waste diversion rates, and many more. The deployment of smart sensors by Sensoneo is poised to contribute to the largest smart waste installation worldwide, with an impressive 11,100 sensors in Madrid. Our agile approach, flexibility, and anything-is-possible attitude have won us the trust of customers in more than 85 countries worldwide, as well as numerous awards and recognitions.

3,294 of our ultrasonic fill-level sensors are helping to optimize collection frequency in the beautiful city of Prague. Our smart sensors have become the eyes of the city’s waste management system, providing real-time data on the fullness of underground bins across multiple waste streams. 📊 The benefits are not only financial, as reducing unnecessary collection routes saves significant resources, but there is also an important environmental impact due to decreased traffic congestion and noise. 📉 Learn more about this case study in our comments 👇
🏭 Waste management in factories and manufacturing halls presents not only a range of operational challenges that can disrupt efficiency but also analytical hurdles that block the achievement of sustainability KPIs: ➡️ Delayed collection of overflowing bins often disrupts carefully planned production and logistics, causing expensive and unneeded interruptions. ➡️ Collecting half-empty bins leads to unnecessary disruptions in the logistics line workforce, impacting productivity. ➡️ Inefficient waste collection routes drain resources but also increase safety risks. ➡️ Lack of accurate data on the volume of produced waste makes it difficult to optimize operations and plan effectively ➡️ Poor contamination tracking: crucial for meeting sustainability goals and improving waste diversion rates Addressing these challenges requires an innovative approach to waste management that prioritizes efficiency, sustainability, and data-driven solutions. Lesson from Covid: Why waste management must be data-driven? Most waste collection is based on preset schedules—routes that haven’t changed in years. But what happens when the unexpected occurs? Take Covid, for example. In an instant, people shifted from working in offices to working from home. This changed waste production patterns, moving them from one part of the city to another. For many cities, waste collection couldn’t keep up. It takes months, sometimes even years, to redesign routes and adapt to a new reality. This is where data becomes critical. Reliable, real-time data enables waste managers to respond quickly to shifts, plan smarter routes, and reduce inefficiencies. Without it, cities are stuck reacting slowly to change. The solution? It’s simple: digitizing waste management by collecting data with sensors!
We recently enhanced our Bin Access Management solution with new functionality! The new version, BAM 4.0, now includes the capability to be extended with external devices. For instance, the system can now be paired with our ultrasonic fill-level sensors, enabling bins to be locked automatically once they reach a predefined capacity. 🔒📊 Since the sensors are connected to the BAM by a cable, they do not require batteries, as they use the capacity of the battery inside the BAM. This means that deploying both devices together is extremely beneficial from both a technological and financial perspective. Take a look at the video explaining our BAM solution in the comments 👇
In 2024, we’re celebrating a decade since the first major installation of our smart sensors, innovating waste management with data-driven technology! Ten years ago, Mesto Nitra and its municipal services company, NKS, became global pioneers, installing our first fill-level sensors to monitor levels of semi-underground bins across the town. Since then, we have significantly fine-tuned both our hardware and software, resulting in exponential improvements in data reliability, maintenance, and service. Today, this partnership has grown to include 440 monitored bins collected by two dedicated waste vehicles. Our shared smart waste project has brought powerful results: → Reduced overflow of bins and cleaner streets → Efficient, data-driven collection routes → Higher satisfaction for Nitra’s citizens 👇 Learn more about our ten-year journey and what’s next for Nitra in the comments!
🚨 Did you know that theft in the used cooking oil industry is costing U.S. companies over $75 million? (Yes, you read that right!) Tens of thousands of gallons of used oil are stolen every year—a massive problem with global impact. In our last webinar, we covered this issue and shared insights into how our radar sensors, equipped with anti-theft technology, are stepping up to the challenge. But here’s the thing… It’s not just about stopping theft. For collection companies, having reliable data on grease trap levels is critical. With the right data, companies can plan their collections more efficiently, saving time, fuel, and manpower costs. Our new Radar Sensor does it all: → Monitors grease traps for potential theft → Provides real-time data for smarter, cost-effective collection 👇 Click the link in the comments to learn more!
