💡 How Can Men Shape Healthier Families and Communities? Let’s Discuss! Imagine a world where there is no gender based violence and where all men are positive role models in reproductive health. We as Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) & GIZ SL do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment and misconduct. As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence we organized a joint workshop with Fambul Initiative Network for Equality focusing on men’s active role in reproductive health (RH). The workshop delved into three critical topics: 🌟 Sexual and Reproductive Health 🌟 Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) 🌟 Family Planning The event encouraged participants to rethink gender roles, challenge harmful practices, and promote shared responsibilities. 👋 What role do you think men can do in promoting reproductive health and reducing gender-based violence? 🚀 Préparer les jeunes de Guinée pour leur avenir professionnel, dès le CM1 ! Et si les élèves apprenaient à éviter les accidents au travail, à transformer des fruits locaux comme la mangue ou encore à reconnaître les dangers de la drogue et de l’alcool, tout cela dès l’école primaire ? C’est exactement ce que la Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, en partenariat avec l’Agence Française de Développement, Enabel, la Coopération allemande, la République française, et l’European Union, a remis aux autorités éducatives guinéennes cette semaine : des modules et guides de formation en Préparation à la Vie Professionnelle (PVP) pour pour accompagner les élèves de CM1 et CM2 à explorer le monde du travail. 📚 À quoi ressemble cette préparation dans un cahier d’élève? 🔨 Sécurité au travail : Repérer les risques et agir pour les éviter.  🥭 Transformation des produits agricoles : Donner de la valeur aux ressources locales.  🍺 Éducation civique et morale : Lutter contre les dangers sociaux comme l'alcool et la drogue.  🔢 Mathématiques concrètes : Apprendre en calculant des budgets et des coûts. 💡 Pourquoi c’est important ? 🌍 Continuing the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 🌍 From November 25th to December 10th, the 16 Days of Activism shine a spotlight on the fight against gender-based violence. 📌 1 in 3 women experiences violence in her lifetime. 📌 1 in 4 adolescent girls faces abuse from their partners. 📌 Many women tragically lose their lives to domestic violence every year. As part of this campaign, we recently reflected on International Men’s Day (November 19th), which highlighted the role of positive male role models in ending gender-based violence. 🔶 We’re proud to have hosted a session led by @MAGE SL exploring positive masculinities and their role in building a safer and more equitable society. 💬 We’d love to hear from you! Scary, right? Healthcare is always evolving, and our health workers need to stay sharp, updated, and ready for anything. Here’s why in-service training matters: ✅ Keeps skills fresh: Workers stay updated with the latest tools and methods. ✅ Addresses district needs: Focuses on challenges unique to each region. ✅ Improves care quality: Better-trained workers mean safer, better care. ✅ Supports national goals: Aligns practices with health policies. ✅ Motivates teams: New knowledge is empowering! 🌟It’s World Children’s Day, and Sierra Leone is home to 3.9 MILLION of them, almost half of the country’s population!! 🌟 That’s 3.9 million dreams. 💭 3.9 million futures. 🚀 And 3.9 million reasons to build a brighter tomorrow. 🌍 Supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) as part of the OneHealth approach, 15 schools across Kambia, Kailahun, and Pujehun participated in a One Health School Competition, where pupils presented innovative projects aimed at raising awareness about zoonotic diseases and reducing risks at the community level. 🥇 Mambolo’s team won gold in Kambia with their project tackling the eradication of bats.  🥇 Barrie Islamic Secondary in Potoru claimed gold in Pujehun with their rabies reduction initiative.  🥇 Methodist Secondary in Bunumbu secured gold in Kailahun with their Lassa Fever awareness project.
