We Rise by Lifting Others

About us

At the core of our mission lies an unwavering dedication to philanthropy, driven by profound kindness and a commitment to transformative change. The Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation was born from humble beginnings, inspired by a personal charity that has since grown into a structured and impactful initiative. We focus on empowering women and their families to overcome the challenges of rejection, rights abuse, and economic hardship. Through education and socio-economic development, we work to break down the barriers that impoverish and marginalize vulnerable groups, particularly widows of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs. Guided by the compassion and love taught in Matthew 25:35-40, we serve with both hands and hearts, dedicating ourselves to lifting women and children out of poverty and rejection. Our vision is a society where women and their families, especially widowed families, live full, happy lives surrounded by a community of acceptance and support. The JNJ Foundation empowers local leaders to advocate for widows' rights, reinforcing social resilience and fostering Widow2Widow networking for community solidarity. We empower widows to engage in income-generating activities through education, healthcare, and business support. Our holistic approach ensures they have the tools to achieve financial stability and break the cycle of poverty. Our hands-on model educates and engages widows in shaping their livelihoods, empowering them as active participants with the skills to sustain themselves and uplift their communities. We are committed to improving the socio-economic well-being of women and girls in selected communities in Sierra Leone, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to thrive and celebrate their lives. Join us in our mission to create lasting change and uplift those in need. Together, we can build a future where every woman and child has the opportunity to live with dignity and hope.
