Giving is deeply rooted in African culture. The Swahili say, "Kutoa ni moyo, usambe ni utajiri"- Giving is about willingness, not wealth. Yet, a common myth persists: that Africans don’t give to CSOs. EPIC-Africa has debunked this in a groundbreaking report, Challenging the Myths: Individual Giving for African CSOs. Based on insights from 838 organizations across Africa, 65% confirmed they receive individual donations. In her latest blog, our CEO Rose Maruru shares Four Ways to Write the Real Script of African Individual Giving, weaving in personal stories that bring African giving to life. 📖 Read the blog: https://lnkd.in/d6zf-vNV 📊 Download the report: https://lnkd.in/d24KSvy4 🎥 Watch the report launch discussions: https://lnkd.in/dpVHvWYt #AfricanGiving #Philanthropy #Aid

Enhancing Philanthropic Impact in Africa
About us
EPIC-Africa seeks to enhance philanthropic impact by filling critical data and capacity gaps in the philanthropic market infrastructure in Africa. We help to propel African civil society organizations to higher standards of performance, accountability, and transparency while engendering greater local legitimacy and support. We make grant-making in Africa more effective. We work with local and foreign grant-makers as well as African civil society organizations to design optimal projects and strengthen existing systems and processes. This directly builds grantee's capacity and increases their organizational impact.
