About us
Southwest Innovation Hub (SIH) is the first innovation and technology hub of its kind ever to be established in the Southwest State of Somalia (SWSS). It was launched in Baidoa in 2019 with the aim of unlocking the potential of Somalia's youth talents by accelerating social change through economic development. Southwest Innovation Hub is a youth-oriented intellectual platform for social innovation. To implement its agenda of youth engagement, the Hub brings into discussion issues that are critical to the socio-economic situation in order to stimulate new solutions through innovation and technology. Southwest Innovation Hub is aimed to tackle innovation and entrepreneurship by addressing community needs in the delivery of basic social services. It creates employment opportunities and income generation for youth, women, IDPs, and poor rural communities in order to reduce the level of poverty and contribute to the national development goals.
