If i read the features of the QoL Mod i only think "FOR WHAT?"
I play the game sinc ce 2021 and never ever thought that or wanted one of the features from the QoL Mod.
Examples:
- Authentic car brand logos and car names
You know there is a reason why there are not a brand logos and car names on every car?
You know that they have to pay a lot like?
In 2004 Lamborghini asked for $400'000 to allow a gaming company to use it. I don't wanna know what they want in 2024 but i whink it will be between 500'000 to 1 Million
Also sometimes cars are exclusively licensed to a game and you can't get it, like there was no Porsche in Grand Turismo 2 because of it.
You should actually think here how much does it actually cost to get the license and why there are not more licenced cars.
- Added "Exit Game" option to Pause & Quit -menu
Alt + F4 still works on every game or program, aslong as you saved before you are good to go. There is also a reason why developer do something like that, it is from preventing people to accidentally exit the game.
If you watch sometimes youtube or twich there are people who actually pressed accidentally such button and confirmed it and lost hours of gameplay.
If you really want mods go to Nexus and look for the following
- QuickShop - Extras
- Engine Stand Mod
- InstantScrews
So before you download the QoL Mod, play the game, read the description of the mod and think if you really need anything from it
SearchWithoutEnter--
This setting allows searching just by typing when shopping. This setting only affect shop screen.
spawningCarshaveAdditionalConfigData--

allowMoreCameraMoving--

- camera zoom using mousewheel when on track
- more max zoom and moving values on all scenes
- fluid camera replaced by orbit camera instead of fixed camera
unmarkFinishedparts = true
-Jobs only, marked part will be unmarked when its good for job
markBodyParts = true
-Jobs only, ability to mark job bodypart
onCustomerCarSelectLastMountedPartIfWasOk = true
-Jobs only, suggested part will be previous part if not job task part
WarehousehelperIconInventory = true
-Inventory will have icon showing does this part exist in warehouse
WarehousehelperIconShopList = true
-Shoplist will have number showing does this part exist in warehouse
removepartsfromShoppinglist = true
-When you shop a part, it will be remove from your shopping list
openShoplistevenInsideshopconfig = true
-Allows you check shoplist tires values inside shop. Also modify tire buy window options order
populateTirebuydataWhenusingShoplist = true
-Tire and rims options will be autopopulate if shoplist where used. Above setting also needed
allowBrakeLatheFixDrumBrake = true
-You will be able to fix drum brakes also
And the list goes on and on...
You get to see more about what's in this mod by reading through the documentation and this QoLmod.cfg file--which can be opened using Notepad++ btw. That's also a great text editor more powerful than MS's default Notepad app, which you can get free online--do a search. But, the point is... you most likely will not really understand how great the QoL mod is just be looking at the mods main page... on Nexus or wherever. You need to download it and read through it's documentation files.
So no need for the shopping list except bodywork if you can't remember what you need.
Why? Are you so lazy to search for them? Why are you playing a game called Car Mechanic Simulator if you don't wanna be a car mechanic who actually have to search for the parts and the issue?
I do only a few jobs since i beat the story line. Most of the time I buy cars, fix them to 100% and sell them or put them into my parking lot and add them to my google list.
Never used the Warehouse in any CMS as you should, so why bother now?
Scrap them and buy new ones, i always forget that you can fix brakes in CMS2021
So Everything you posted is not really an improvment to the game, but that is only my opinion.
A really improved would be if you could actually wash the car with a pressure washer and a rag in your hand for the outside and inside.
A welder and a grinding machine to fix the body
A painting gun to paint the car or parts on your own
Let us use the bench to fix the parts instead of a mini game
Let us use the other machines to fix body parts.
So no Press a Button or a mini game and it is done, that would be an improvment for the game. The QoL Mod does nothing instead it makes the game more easier and more boring.
I don't read documentatio, these two examples popped into my eyes immediately.
I actually downloaded the mod and looked into the CFG and still there is nothing in it that improves the game in any way for me.
Yes, QoL isn't an 'improvement' to the game in the sense that it adds any new tasks or content. It's quality of life improvements--which 'can' be viewed as 'making the game easier' but, some things just make it less 'tedious' imo. Also, it seems like English isn't the mod Authors primary language or they just didn't take time to edit for grammar. And, some of those settings descriptions do not properly explain what they do. These one's you quoted for example... the 'select last part' regarding customer jobs... that's actually when you go to re-assemble the customers car, instead of the games default of just listing parts from best condition to worst, it will list the part that orginally came off the car first. Super helpful if you want to save a little money and only replace them with their original part... like maybe only repairing it to just above job orders minimum requirement. The exception is if the part originally coming off was broken, then it would just list the best condition part as the games default.
Some things I don't actually use even though it's set to true. But, it's nice to have available if I do want to use it. For example, being able to select the part in the job list so that it highlights it blue... indicating where it is, comes in handy for body parts when I'm sleepy and not retaining what I read in the job description for which body parts to repair... just highlight them and pull them off. But, that could also be helpful with someone who has no clue about wrenching and unfamiliar with the game. So, instead of only having that option with mechanical parts, you can also have it for body parts.
