they can make custom presets from players for each track for example
Exactly something like that
All pros don't have the exact same settings and there is quite a gap for individual preference. But to leave at standard ruins the game experience for newbies.
I mean not having diff on the right setting will make you car understeer like a mofo and ruin much of game exp.
But leaving all the tuning settings defaulted to 3, give new players something new to discover and may make their cars a little fast on the track. Or maybe worse.
And you ask veteran players, what tune they use for a certain car and track, may get a few different tunes. ;)
Well, in the end, do you want newbies to leave or not? Many other games start with pretty optimal settings. Imagine playing F1 where you had full range of changes. That would be weird right?
The changes in Wreckfest is not small. They are huge and can be hard to get right unless you understand it.
Sure, it is fun to learn, but as said, people stop playing because they just do not know what to put in settings. And may even make it even worse. And the first hours are cruical if a person likes or even refunds a game. And it can easily take more than hours to understand how a diff works.
Ye I feel like they can't decide which way to go. Imo they should go more arcade as you said because there is no good arcade like this.
What else annoys you ? Don't you want to get rid of manual gearing too so that it feels more like playing rocket league ?
Each of the damn four settings has a quick explanation of its effects (good and bad) going from an extreme to the other. The noobs you're mentionning feel like people who aren't even trying to understand in the first place, because it's all there.
Why are you talking about me? I want more people to play and i've seen huge streamers who played and used crap settings and got ♥♥♥♥ on. Don't think this is unusual. My intention is to get more players in. Not to dumb it down. That is why I said: Give them hints or alike. Just like they do in any racing game.
Or do you think there should be no standard settings in F1? Or any other racing game? That would be fun to watch.
Feels like there is gatekeeping here because some wants race faster
