Tales of Rein Ravine

When does the Game Take Place?
I have been extremely curious about the time the game takes place, in a modern year. As far as the information I collected suggests, it must be happening in Great Britain, hence why everyone and everything is in English and the Euro Mail boxes, and it must be happening before Great Britain left the EU, so maybe before 2020? I don't know, have theories?

But at the beginning of the game on the notice board in front of the University there's a purple poster advertising an internship at the FHS, and it requires fluency in English and proficiency in basically any other big European language, so I guess that's that xD

I don't think that if this game would take place in GB or if the creator of the game was from a non-European country (or ex-European :P) they would have added those requirements, it's not really something that's at the forefront of the minds of people whose native language is English.

But I also think that this game takes place in a fictional country that's Europe-adjacent, though I think that's a given seeing as there is no real life place called Rein Ravine ;)

P.S: All the cars we can see into are left-hand-drive and the buses we see drive on the right side of the road, so GB was never an option xD

Great Britain never had the Euro, and the name of the stables we got to ride at in the patreon demo was German. I'd say this is supposed to be central Europe in modern day ^^
The reason why the game is in English is because the developer herself is Ukranian and English is a universal and international language

Additionally, the character we got to play as in the demo had a Dutch name, which doesn't neccessarily mean anything, but could also be another indicator for western Europe.
And the in-universe riding association FHS (Federation of Horse Sports) that Paola mentions during the riding lessons feels very inspired by the real world FEI (fr.: Fédération Equestre Internationale, eng.: International Federation for Equestrian Sports) , which originates from France.
It's highly likely that the in-game explanation for everything being in English is simply because they are international stables with riders from all over the world.

Maybe I'm just biased, but to me the area around Cherry Peak does feel very Southern Germany to me lol
