Hey, I'm just gonna make an honest review about this game. But let me give some information before I jump into the review.
•I played D+6 after the game release. I have seen the PVP feature from the CN server through Youtube and it honestly the thing that makes me want to try the game.
•I played similar game called Langrisser Mobile back in 2018-2020, but I had to quit the game because I had a hard time to clear the daily ever since they have implement SP system. They added daily/weekly to the game and it feels like chores so I had no choice but to quit because I cant keep up, even though I enjoyed the game so much.
•I'm a PVP enthusiast and I chase for efficiency when playing video games.
•I only buy the monthly pack that allow me to have more backtrack chance to correct my mistake when playing PVE content
•Ignore the hours time that I spent into the game. It's not accurate since most of the time I forgot to close the game while working

So here's my review, hopefully you can decide if you want to jump into the game or not. Or hopefully the dev team will read and make the game much better in the future.

1. Story Line
10/10
The story line is great, I love how they have Spiral Of Destiny that give you a chance to explore into the story more deep into different kind of choices and line and achieve multiple endings. Vilain in this game is well written that makes me have a sympathy to their story, they're not just someone who being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and do bad things. They have a strong backstory to make us understand them much better.

2. Character Design
10/10
I love pixel art style. And the way every character designed in this game is very simple yet elegant. If you are a fan of pixel art game, you will love this game!

3. Gameplay
5/10
•Role or Class system is pretty much standard just like other RPG, each class have advantage over other class and so on
•Tank class in here is kinda bad. MOST OF THEM are just a living sandbag that take hit for their allies and cannot hit back for more than once per turn. Compared to Langrisser, every tank have the same chance to protect and counter the enemy as long they don't get movement down or buff that preventing them to protect allies
•We can't choose on the direction where is the character facing before ending their turn. I don't really like this because, we suppossed to have the freedom to prevent from rear or flank attack which can cause more damage.
•Sometimes it's hard to put a character into certain crowded spot, because we don't have an for a better view from different angle.
•Tactic Control that have ground target sometimes clunky and makes us move to the place that we dont want. This can cause an issue for those who don't have extra backtrack

4. Gacha System

While SOC might inspired from Langrisser mobile, but the gacha system in here is much worst. Let me explain to you, there's only two banner that you care about. First is Debut banner which is only happen once per character and after that you can only get that character by off-banner pull or you can try getting it on dual banner.
The game give you two types of Pity.
•Hard Pity. Guarantee to get a RATE UP character after pulling 179 times without getting any legendary unit
•Soft Pity. Guarantee to get a RANDOM character after pulling 99 times without getting any legendary unit.
The cost for single pull is 150. And the cost for 10 pull is 1,500. While the hard pity from Debut banner and Double Banner don't share the hard pity count. But they do share the soft pity count. And the pity carried into next banner which is good.
But the problem is not only because of most of the players barely have enough to pull but also the amount of hard pity is too high. For example, in langrisser they only have one pity and it's at 100 summon while players guarantee to get legendary character that THEY DON'T HAVE on the selected banner. For further explanation, if a banner have A,B,C character and player already have A and B. Player will guarantee to get C character for the first legendary unit they get on the banner. In SOC it's different, the Double Banner that suppossed to give an advantage for those missed a unit that they really want during Debut banner become two times more expensive to pull. The reason is because you need to have 360 summon ready to get a character you want from double banner, assuming that you really unlucky. While it also important to mention that you will still have a high chace get a dupe from double banner. For example there's character A and B on the double banner, you just want to pull character B. You will still possible get the B character as a dupe on your hard pity. This is why if you miss a unit on their debut banner, it become more expensive. A lot of players are don't like this system and quit. I hope that they will somehow fix this issue, it's not just making them keep on losing players but also preventing them to gain a new players to play the game.

5. Resources

•One of the main reason player hate to get dupe character is because that they can farm hero shard and slowly grind them into five star. It's one of the best feature
•Legendary weapon you can by a fair random chance. While Trinket is much harder to get, since the dungeon only give Legendary weapon but not Legendary trinket.
•Tactic upgrades resources is somehow badly designed. Red/Blue/Purple is way more harder to get compared to other color. But the cost value to upgrades tactic nodes is not all the same, some of the nodes are more expensive than others because the requires you to have both color of either it's Red/Blue/Purple.
•Castalia is very hard to get. You guarantee to get one from PVP bot, as long you reach the point. But other sources like event and story that updated every 3-5 weeks are not a relieable sources. In Langrisser Mobile, you can get at least 3-4 items per month to get an item that equal to Castalia.
•Gems (Luxite) barely have enough to grind. The reason is how expensive is the banner, 180 summon for a guarantee legendary character is super expensive, 360 summon if you are pulling on a double banner.

5. Multiplayer
1/10
One of the element that makes player stay into the game is multiplayer mode. This game is lack of multiplayer mode.
•Real Time PVP only happen once and it was on the first few weeks after the game released. And haven't come back
•Guild feature is pretty much dead. It's more like attendance record to get a collective reward that's not impresive as well
•Even an event that requires player interaction is so far just to donate item to help each other fill up the requirements to get a prize or solving a code number together. It's very boring
•No Guild War in SOC. While in Langrisser, we have two season guild war each week. In there we can play together with guildmate to clear the challange. Each nodes requires you to use a certain faction. And the reward is very good as well.
•No co-op content. In here the game is pretty much feels like a single player game with gacha element. Most of player will either flex or rant their gacha pull and that's all
While in Langrisser Mobile there's a lot of co-op content. Old player can help carry new player to farm for resources and clear their daily dungeon and guild war. At least new player still have hope to catch up in Langrisser Mobile. While in here, new player will have a hard time to catch up without spending tons of money

6. The current state of the game
3/10 Dying!
The game is currently at it's crisis. They know that they already lost a lot of players, recently they just published an event to get returnee player back. But it's also important to meantion that they only reward you with 150 gems (luxite) which is equals to a single pull. They can't even makes the player stays or get new player to try their game. But they also wanting us to help them with a reward that's not even worth the trouble lol.

This game is not recommended for new players :)

gacha games go die

Play it for the story. The story's great, free, and completely unconnected to any gacha mechanics or spending necessity. Truly, I feel like the writer for the main story of this game deserves to be working on a product that takes their quality of work and their skill at weaving a dramatic war tragedy more seriously.

Everything else in the game is pretty soulless. Especially once you've hit the level cap, you're always fighting the same handful of enemies, doing the same grind, being forced to engage with the same rotating events that have no value in the narrative (and often aren't even written to be very consistent in character voice or remotely on theme to the rest of the game) for scant resources to make any sort of hint of meaningful progress or growth. Standard mobile game drip-feed garbage, desperately putting the push for player spending before the quality of player experience.

There's something telling about the most recent holiday event asking new players to invite back all the old players that dropped the game, when it's only 6 months out from release. My greatest hope is that when it eventually becomes unprofitable enough to be shut down, they make an offline port, as some of the more progressive mobile game developers have done. It could have been something really special, after all.
