Vanilla Civ 5 is basically Civ 4 on a hex map. CBP is a lot like the Rise of Mankind mod for Civ 4 in how it changes the game. But the base versions are both basically the same game, and incremental changes from earlier games. Civ 6 made some big changes that breathe new life into the game.
