Visited a classic, in response to enjoying Drova - Forsaken Kin so much that I HAD to see where its roots came from.

I can confidently say, with a few easy to apply Steam Workshop Mods (Fixes/Visual Updates) this game has aged tremendously well for a 2024 play-through.

A lot of what people complained about with this game in terms of its ‘eurojank’ is not as painful as what I thought it was walking in to it. If you have played your fair share of games before, getting to grips with the games’ weird controls becomes second-nature - it’s just not spoon-fed to you.

A concentrated open-world within an imprisoned penal colony makes for one of the most unique and gripping settings - and there’s nothing quite like it today.

I’m glad I spent the time to play through this before the upcoming remake - I highly recommend anyone who is even REMOTELY interested with playing through the original before the remake comes out to take the dive - it is certainly worth your time to at least ‘try it’.

This is a goofy game but its really fun! there's a good progression system and great world and a charm that's hard to find. I beat it and don't regret a moment of it (all tho it ends very abruptly!!) if you wanna a good single player game to get invested it gothic 1 is a great choice!
