Tips for map makers
Bởi THE_YIGLER
Hello! I'm here to give you some tips I've picked up for map makeing! This guide will cover basic building to niffty tricks you probably don't know.

Section 1: Your inventory

To start off this guide we will begin with your inventory/hotbar. This is the most basic form of building.
As you may or may not know, scrolling the mouse wheel up or down changes the current selected block in your hotbar.
There are many different block types but they aren't in your hotbar by default. To access them press "q".
If you've played some of the game's maps you may notice some special blocks. These blocks are either invincible or respawn after so much time. To make the blocks in your hotbar invincible press "i" and respawnable "r". You may have also noticed the map's size. The map can be made larger by hitting "z" or "x'. Keep in mind that "z" and "x" make the map larger in 2 directions instead of the entire map getting larger. The same applys when makeing the map smaller. Use Semicolon and Quotes to do so.

Section 2: Help from prefabs

Prefabs are useful in any form of multiplayer, but did you know they can be used for map makeing? Assuming you have some prefabs already you need a way to access them. To do this press "e". To select different prefabs scroll with the wheel just like you would to change what block your useing in the hotbar. If you can't get the angle you want when placing a prefab you can turn it useing Comma and Period.

Section 3: Vehicles

To access vehicles press "e" again and place it like you would any other block. Although the vehicle has been placed it may not be at the angle you want. Going into the vehicle and moveing it is the best way to get the position you want. When you save the map, the vehicle's angles will be what you last moved them to. Be sure to place vehicles strategically otherwise one side may have too much of an advantage.

Section 4: Voxel Importer

This may seem scary in the begining but it is a live saver. Remember that amazing Minecraft map you made? BAM! You can upload it as a map! How you ask? It's quite simple. Hit escape and click on Voxel Importer. From there it will take you to a window with a pink square. Ignore this for now. Go to Load Map and select the level.dat from your Minecraft or any voxel game's world. It will take you back to the pink screen. You may notice it's not so pink anymore. The black parts are areas you've been at in your voxel map. You may notice the options at the bottom left of the window. Those make the size of your cursor on the pink area larger. Each 1 added to Height and Width are the equivalent of 1 Chunk in Minecraft. Once you've clicked on the area you want to load hit Import on the bottom right and the game will load your map.

From there you can use what you've learned to make amazing maps! Enjoy and keep up the good work!

anyone else have any useful commands? is there a way to paint blocks with other blocks, or fill in hollow cavities? maybe select all the blocks in a map and switch them to one thing, or make them invincible, etc?

H button turns on hover mode apparently. Mega useful. Also, how do you set up teleporters again? I have the blocks- but what to do with them?

Thank you very much, Light Under Dark! Now I can make my A12--Weapon's maps without having to worry about if mapmaking is difficult or not, at least you mke it sound really simple.

Sorry Frosty I made this guide before those things were introduced and I haven't played Guncraft since.

How do you use arrow shooters, buttons, disappearing blocks, TNT, and teleporters?

And the down key to decrease the value

Ah-ha, just found out when I was trying to wire disapearing blocks. You just press your up arrow key when your cursor is over the block :) Hope this helps
