Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to create the best educational physics game ever made. That means creating something that truly teaches you physics while being entertaining. We feel that this is impossible without getting your feedback. We want you to help us steer the direction of the game; which concepts do you want to learn next? Are the levels too easy or too difficult? What quality of life features would you like us to add? All of these questions can't be answered without your help.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game has been in development for about two years already, but now that most of the framework is there, now we need to add levels to cover the rest of the topics. We plan to release an update every few months until all topics are covered which should take about 2 years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains levels covering mechanics concepts. In the final version we hope to include levels that cover thermal physics, waves, electricity and fields among others. Players will find out the secrets of The Institute as well, of course.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“A complete build with over 30 levels covering mechanics concepts such as conservation of energy, forces, collisions and circular motion.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price to be raised by the time 1.0 comes out, but it's also a personal goal of mine to help as many people learn and love physics as possible. If that means keeping the price low, then so be it.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want your feedback on two main things:
1. The difficulty of the levels. Do we need to add more levels in between to smooth the difficulty curve or so we need to add more difficult levels to really test you know your stuff?
2. The order of which topics to add to the game. The next topic we want to add is either thermal physics or waves, but we want you to decide which one we should focus on next.

About This Game

Why can’t we learn physics in the same way we learn games?

Explore the laws of physics like never before in Newton's Fourth Law, where each puzzle is a lesson and every level deepens your understanding of the universe. From projectile motion to quantum physics, Dive into hands-on challenges that bring physics equations to life, inspired by classics like Portal and The Stanley Parable. But who exactly are you and what are you doing in this facility? Who is the mysterious voice guiding and chastising you?  Learn the rules of our universe, then uncover the mystery that is breaking them. Developed by a passionate high school physics teacher, this game challenges you to solve problems using real scientific methods.

Forget about educational science simulations that look like they were made before the internet. It's time to level up how we learn.

Visualize key physics concepts!

Inspect Your Surroundings to gather Information.

Master progressively more difficult physics puzzles using real world physics concepts and equations.

Experience physics in a completely new immersive way.

Uncover the intertwined destinies of Dorian, the luckiest man who ever lived, and Sheryll, a scientist who confronts the secrets of The Institute, and piece together your role in this expansive galaxy spanning sci-fi story.

Question everything.

We have to do actual calculations in this game?

As a high school physics teacher who loves video games, I always wished somebody could create a game that captures the wonder of videogames with the educational rigor of a real science class. So, I made it myself.

If you are studying physics in school or college, or just have an interest in physics and some of the deeper questions that science evokes, then this is the game for you.

This looks too hard for me!

I want to make this game accessible for everybody to learn physics. The game contains plenty of environmental cues to help guide you, as well as a hint system if you get stuck.

Don’t worry—Newton’s Fourth Law is designed to make physics accessible. With built-in visualizations and a  hint system.

The puzzles in this game are designed around a high school physics syllabus, including AP, IB, A-levels and other national curricula and currently cover the following topics:

  • Linear motion

  • Projectile motion

  • Forces

  • Energy

  • Collisions

  • Circular motion

Join us in shaping the future of Newton's Fourth Law! Early Access players will help expand our physics universe, with new levels and topics added regularly.

  • Thermal Physics

  • Waves

  • Fields

  • Electricity

  • Relativity

  • Quantum Physics
