About BIMI support in Apple Mail
Email messages with brand logos have been digitally certified. This means that the sender has met strong security and authentication requirements.
In iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura 13 or later, and on iCloud.com, Apple Mail supports BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification), an email specification that allows brand-controlled logos to be displayed.
Senders that support BIMI have to meet a strong standard of email authentication1 and demonstrate control over their brand logos.2 In order to see email messages as digitally certified, both the sender and your email service provider must meet the requirements of the BIMI standard and Apple Mail app requirements.
If the sender or your email service provider hasn't met the requirements, email messages will not display logos in Apple Mail clients.
This includes using the DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) security standard, which is a tool designed to stop domain impersonation.
BIMI also works with VMCs (Verified Mark Certificates) and other forms of BIMI Evidence Documents to verify the ownership and authenticity of a logo and the logo's connection to that domain.
