Import and export Terminal profiles on Mac
If you want to transfer Terminal profiles between computers, you can import and export them. The exported files end with a .terminal extension.
Import a profile
In the Terminal app
on your Mac, choose Terminal > Preferences, then click Profiles.
Do one of the following:
Click the Action pop-up menu
, choose Import, select the file that contains the profile, then click Open.
Drag the file that contains the profile from the Finder to the profiles list.
Export a profile
In the Terminal app
on your Mac, choose Terminal > Preferences, then click Profiles.
Do one of the following:
Select the profile you want to export, click the Action pop-up menu
, choose Export, enter a name for the file, then click Save.
Drag a profile from the profiles list to the Finder.
