You can present Google Slides so they show on a full screen.

Full-screen presentations work from a computer, mobile device, or TV with Chromecast or AirPlay. You can even accept audience questions while you present

View a presentation

To present a full-screen presentation in Google Slides:

  1. Open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. In the top right, click Slideshow . For best results, present with Google Chrome.
  3. From the current slide, the presentation will become full screen. To change slides, use the arrow keys on your keyboard or click the arrows at the bottom of the presentation.
  4. To exit full-screen, press the Esc key.

View a presentation with speaker notes

  1. Open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. In the top right corner, next to Slideshow , click the Down arrow .
  3. Click Presenter view.
  4. Click Speaker notes.

Advance slides automatically

You can set your slides to play automatically when:
  • You present your presentation.
  • Someone clicks on a link to your published presentation.
  • Someone views your published presentation that's embedded in a website.

Advance slides automatically while you present

  1. Open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. In the top right corner, click Slideshow .
  3. At the bottom, click Options  and then Auto advance options.
  4. Choose how quickly to advance your slides.
Tip: Re-set the auto advance options each time you present your presentation.

Advance slides automatically for a published presentation

Important:

  • If you use Google Slides through work or school, you can only share the link with people within your organization.
  • After you publish your presentation, anyone with the link will be able to see your presentation.
  1. Open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. Click File and then Publish to the web.
  3. Choose Link or Embed.
  4. Under "Auto-advance slides," choose how much time you want to add between slides.
  5. Click Publish and then Ok.
Tip: If you want to change your presentation or timing, you’ll need to copy a new link.

Stop publishing

  • Open a presentation in Google Slides.
  • Click File and then Publish to the web.
  • At the bottom, click Published content & settings and then Stop publishing.

Present with other monitors

Important:

  • To present with other monitors, you must use a computer with a Google Chrome browser and have at least one extra monitor attached.
  • Presentation display options are cleared when the presentation is reloaded.
  1. On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. At the top right corner, next to “Slideshow,” click the dropdown arrow .
  3. Select Presentation display options Presentation display options icon.
  4. You can select from "Presenter view," "Present from beginning," and "Full screen."
  5. Select which monitor you want to display your presentation to.
    • You can’t use the "Presenter view" and "Full screen" at the same time with one monitor.
    • When you deselect "Full screen," you can only present to your current monitor.
  6. To begin your presentation, select Start slideshow.

Highlight & annotate as you present

When you present, you can use a pen tool to draw or make annotations. Annotations stay during your presentation, but disappear after you end your slideshow.

Use the pen tool during a slideshow

  1. On your browser, open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. At the top right corner, click Slideshow .
  3. At the bottom left, click Options More and then Enable pen tool.
  4. To draw or annotate, click and drag on your slide.
  5. Optional:
    • To change the pen color, at the bottom, click Pen tool and then Select a color.
    • To erase annotations on the current slide, at the bottom, click Erase and then Erase all.
    • To turn off the pen tool during your presentation, choose an option:
      • At the bottom, click Pen tool and then Turn off.
      • At the bottom, click Options More and then Disable pen tool.

Other actions while presenting

When you present, you can choose more options from the toolbar at the bottom of the presentation window:

  • Select slides to present from a list
  • Open "Presenter" view
  • Turn on laser pointer
  • Print the presentation
  • Download the presentation in PDF or PPTX format
