Attended by 28 environmental journalists, the session equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise cyber threats and safeguard their online presence.

On December 4, 2024, Dr. James participated as a panellist in the fourth Southeast Asia AI Webinar Series, 'The Role of Civil Society in Advancing Responsible AI,' hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The webinar focuses on the role of civil society organisations (CSOs) in promoting responsible AI, addressing gender and social biases, and engaging with AI policy. On December 3, 2024, Asia Centre's Regional Director, Dr. James Gomez, delivered remarks at the "Plenary: Understanding & Redefining Contemporary Conflict" during the 2024 Conveners Community of Practice (CCOP) Workshop, held in New Delhi on December 3-4. He highlighted the need to strengthen the role of traditional peace builders by imbuing their work with a rights-based approach. On 2 December 2024, Asia Centre’s Partnership Manager, Kartini Sunityo, delivered a Digital Security Training in collaboration with Social Movement Institute in Yogyakarta, marking the beginning of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations. Conducted in Indonesian and attended by 12 youth activists, the session equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to identify online attacks and threats, and to safeguard themselves in the digital space.

On 30 November 2024, Asia Centre, in collaboration with its youth network from Vietnam, hosted an online Digital Security Training session led by David Ekmongkon Puridej. Attended by 14 participants, the session provided young digital rights advocates with valuable insights and practical skills to identify online attacks and threats and protect themselves effectively in the digital space.
