Catch the event takeaways from Asia Centre's recent regional dialogue on "Youth Voices, Strong Choices: Political Participation in The Asia-Pacific" held on 26 November 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand. This regional dialogue was organised by the Asia Centre in collaboration with the Global Democracy Coalition (GDC) and Club de Madrid as part of the #ThankYouDemocracy campaign.

From 5 to 7 December, Asia Centre's Research Manager Dr Marc Pinol Rovira, and Researcher, Ekmongkhon Puridej, participated in the ICT Camp Cambodia 2024 in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, organised by Open Development Cambodia Organization. This engagement is a series of activities that lead up to the launch of Asia Centre AI Hub for Civil Society Organisations and the 10th International Conference on AI and Governance in Asia: Civil Society, Democracy and Media happening on 20 - 22 August 2025. On 3 December 2024, Asia Centre's Sanjay Gathia delivered the Digital Security Training in Kathmandu, Nepal in partnership with Nepal Forum of Environmental Journalists (Nefej Nepal). Attended by 28 environmental journalists, the session equipped participants with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise cyber threats and safeguard their online presence.

On December 4, 2024, Dr. James participated as a panellist in the fourth Southeast Asia AI Webinar Series, 'The Role of Civil Society in Advancing Responsible AI,' hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The webinar focuses on the role of civil society organisations (CSOs) in promoting responsible AI, addressing gender and social biases, and engaging with AI policy. Dr. James highlighted the lack of rights-based CSOs in AI discussions, the need for materials to support their involvement, and the importance of aligning AI initiatives with human rights principles.
