On December 4, 2024, Dr. James participated as a panellist in the fourth Southeast Asia AI Webinar Series, 'The Role of Civil Society in Advancing Responsible AI,' hosted by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The webinar focuses on the role of civil society organisations (CSOs) in promoting responsible AI, addressing gender and social biases, and engaging with AI policy. Dr. James highlighted the lack of rights-based CSOs in AI discussions, the need for materials to support their involvement, and the importance of aligning AI initiatives with human rights principles.
