Big News for Thailand’s Automotive Industry! 🚘🌍 Thailand’s National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee (EV Board) has approved a revised incentive package for locally produced hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) to support the transition towards clean energy in the automotive sector.  The package includes an additional incentive category for mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV) featuring electrical systems with a voltage lower than 60 volts.     📌 Key Updates:    🚗 Revised HEV Incentives (2026 -2032):    - 6% excise tax for vehicles with CO2 emissions not exceeding 100 g/km.  - 9% excise tax for vehicles with CO2 emissions > 100 g/km but ≤ 120 g/km.    🚙 New MHEV Incentives (2026-2032):  10% excise tax for vehicles with CO2 emissions ≤ 100 g/km.  12% excise tax for vehicles with CO2 emissions > 100 g/km but ≤ 120 g/km.    📌 MHEV Requirements (2026-2032):  - Low CO2 emissions standards must be met.  - Vehicles must be equipped with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), including at least 4 out of 6 systems:    - Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB)  - Forward Vehicle Collision Warning (FCW)  - Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA)  - Lane Departure Warning (LDW)  - Blind Spot Detection (BSD)  - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)    Manufacturers must use battery packs and other key parts produced in Thailand.    📅 Investment Conditions:    - Manufacturers must invest a minimum of THB 1 billion (approx. USD 29.2 million) by 2026.  - A total investment of at least THB 5 billion (approx. USD 146 million) by 2028.    🌱 Supporting Thailand’s Clean Energy Future:   This initiative underscores Thailand’s commitment to becoming a global leader in electric vehicle (EV) production and sustainable technology.
