Update on Thai startups: opportunities, potential, and challenges to overcome Did you know that the Thai startup industry is growing significantly and is one of the key drivers of the Thai economy 🚀? In recent years, Thailand has had many great projects that have helped promote startups, making our startup ecosystem vibrant and competitive globally. Today, let's take a deep dive into the potential of the Thai technology industry together, along with opportunities and challenges in the growth of Thai startups 🔍. 🌟 The Thai technology industry has remarkable potential, such as: 🤖 AI and Deep Tech are surging: These technologies are in high demand in the global market, and Thailand has both the opportunity and the potential to develop this industry.  Thailand is home to over 226 Deep Tech startups. 💸 Fintech is soaring: Thailand has the potential to become a Fintech hub in the region because the demand for digital financial systems is increasing. Fintech startups in Thailand continue to grow, especially the Blockchain group, which is driven by the popularity of Cryptocurrency. In addition, there is PromptPay, which helps real-time payment systems grow, creating huge economic benefits, including Insurtech and Wealthtech are also noteworthy groups. 🩺 HealthTech: Health technology is also gaining a lot of attention, with over 324 Thai HealthTech startups such as Salary Hero, HD, and Ooca able to develop digital health care platforms that connect patients and doctors through AI and IoT efficiently. And over the past 10 years, an average of 24 new HealthTech companies have emerged each year. 💪 There are positive changes that help drive startups, both in terms of regulations such as the ESOP policy that allows employees to hold shares in the company and tax benefits for investors help attract both talented people and capital to enter the system, including efforts to build a strong ecosystem from support by the government and various funds such as TED Fund, VISTEC, Depa, NIA and InnoSpace Thailand that help create an environment conducive to the growth of startups. 🚧 There are challenges to overcome 📌 Legal limitations that are not flexible and may hinder the growth of startups. 📌 Shortage of STEM and Tech personnel; it is necessary to develop skills to support the industry. 📌 Risk-taking culture: Should encourage the new generation to dare to try, make mistakes, and create new innovations. ✨ Opportunity to the world stage through collaboration between the public sector, private sector, and investors. Thailand has the potential to grow into a regional innovation hub! Let's explore how these organizations are utilizing Typhoon in their respective domains. . ✨ SCBX's AutoX Deploys Typhoon Model for Market Conduct Validation: The system uses Typhoon to analyze employee conversations to ensure that customer information is complete, accurate, and compliant. This helps reduce the risk of potential harm to the company and enhances regulatory compliance. The use of Typhoon has also resulted in significant cost savings compared to manual inspection with a large workforce. In addition, there are plans to leverage newer versions of Typhoon, which include specific models for both visual and audio processing, to address challenges and support internal business operations in the future. . ✨ Siriraj Hospital Streamlines Internal Documents with Typhoon: Siriraj Hospital faces challenges with its vast amount of internal operational documents, which are crucial for the management system. This enables staff to quickly access information, reducing the burden of reading and memorizing extensive data. They also envision utilizing Typhoon's Vision model to manage scanned documents for data collection, and explore broader applications of Typhoon across other areas in the future. . ✨ TDRI Leverages Typhoon Model for Precise Labor Market Analysis - The Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) utilizes Typhoon to analyze Thai labor market trends across various industries. By processing vast amounts of data from online job postings, TDRI gains insights into future labor market trends and in-demand skills. Typhoon tackles the complexities of identifying professions, workplaces, job descriptions, and other intricate details. With policies that support the growth of these groups, the public sector has an opportunity to foster collaboration between local and international entrepreneurs. It also continues to expand its business into other services. ✅ Ascend Money - A leading digital financial service provider in Southeast Asia, known for its TrueMoney product. The company has become a unicorn due to several factors, such as the growth of the digital finance market, a wide range of products and services, the use of modern technology, and strong business partnerships.
