Through the camera lens, Sushmita found her way to uplift women and create a fairer world. 🎥 After her father's death, Sushmita’s family constellation changed, with her mother becoming the primary breadwinner. Despite this big change, Sushmita’s family encouraged her to keep pursuing her dreams. With the support of Wedu’s Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) programme, Sushmita could attend film school. Now working in the film industry, her work goes beyond capturing moments—it challenges gender barriers and amplifies women’s voices. From documenting the lives of women carpet weavers to showcasing the courage of female musicians, Sushmita is reshaping Nepal’s storytelling spaces. 🌟 📖 Discover how Sushmita promotes inclusion in Nepal's film industry with the support of Wedu’s ISA 👉 Click here: https://lnkd.in/gKAM9y9a

Elizabeth Joy Quijano, a Wedu mentor and Blaan woman from the Philippines, shares that through Wedu’s mentorship programme, she found solidarity across geographic and cultural divides. 🤝🏽🌍 She shares, “Through my mentee, I’ve come to see my role as part of a global network of women working together toward a better future.” Elizabeth’s journey shows that mentorship provides learning lessons to both mentors and mentees. Conversation has the power to not only build skills and connect stories but also plant the seeds for a more equitable and inclusive future. 🌿 📖 Read her story 👉🏼 Click here: https://lnkd.in/g__zxxvX

Climate change isn’t just an environmental crisis—it’s a gender crisis too. 🌍 Women are on the frontlines, bearing the brunt of energy poverty and climate-related displacement. Energy poverty forces households to cut back on essential energy use, often to the detriment of their health. Meanwhile, climate-related displacement—caused by sudden or gradual environmental changes and disasters—disrupts lives and livelihoods. Every day, millions of women spend hours collecting fuel and water—time that could be spent on education or economic opportunities. At #COP29, the Lima Work Programme on Gender placed gender equality at the heart of climate action. Yet, only 34% of climate negotiators are women! it’s time to break the cycle of energy poverty and climate vulnerability by nurturing women leaders to drive change. 📲 Swipe to explore the gender-climate-energy nexus and why women’s leadership is vital for a sustainable future. 📢 At Wedu, we enable women’s leadership journeys on the mission to make gender parity a reality within our lifetimes. Education should transform lives, not reinforce barriers. 🎓 Across South and Southeast Asia, millions of women and marginalised communities are held back by gender norms, safety concerns, and funding gaps—preventing them from reaching their full potential. Swipe through to learn of five key reasons why women drop out of tertiary education in this region, where 456 million adults remain illiterate, most of them women. UN Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI)’s Regional Declaration for Gender-Transformative Education provides policymakers and educators with a meaningful framework to create equitable and inclusive learning pathways for all. We recommend you take a look! 👉🏼 Access the document here: https://lnkd.in/gDVCuhzU 💡 At Wedu, we are bridging these gaps with innovative solutions like leadership development workshops, mentorship opportunities, and education funding—enabling women leaders to transform their lives and their communities. 📢 Join us in our mission to create a world that enables women’s leadership potential 👉🏼https://lnkd.in/ewQkVcRC Source: Asia & Pacific Regional Declaration for Gender Transformative Education — UNGEI FemNet4GTE 2024

Sneha's journey from Nepal to COP29 in Azerbaijan provides thoughtful insights into how leading involves introspection and intention—which relies on having the space to reflect on what leadership means to us. 🌿🙋🏻♀️ Through Wedu’s Introduction to Leadership (ITL) course, Sneha brought to COP29 leadership qualities that aided her in navigating the intense conversations she met in Azerbaijan. Sneha says to any first-time COP attendees: “Dive in wholeheartedly, learn from every moment, and use your voice to amplify the stories that matter.” . 🤝🏽 📖 Read Sneha’s story and her reflections on the impact of Wedu's ITL course 👉🏼Click here: https://lnkd.in/gyeGEZKf
