I just want to thank you again for another fantastic stay at your hotel. I had booked 2 rooms. From entering the hotel and been greeted by Kate on reception till we left two days later. It was so relaxing. The Collins bar was closed for an update and we had our evening meals in the bistro,it was a nice change,The staff there were as usual great and so professional and friendly.Food was as always fantastic. The rooms were 100% as always. It was nice to see friendly staff that remembered me from previous stays,it's great that your staff see a person and remember them.A true quality that you don't see often today. I have booked to stay again for February I am looking forward to my stay again. I would highly recommend people to stay in this hotel, as it's well worth a stay and probably as in my case, you will be back again. Many thanks again to all involved.
On the positive side, the hotel is easy to reach from the airport, the rooms are large and beds comfortable. The breakfasts are generally of a good standard with a interesting selection. We were able to park easily. Staff friendly and helpful. The areas for us that could have been improved would include the breakfast system for having eggs cooked freshly, as most people abandoned the idea when being told there were many orders waiting to be cooked, so there would be a fair wait. Our room faced West, so by the end of a hot summer’s day, the room was also well warmed! The aircon setting of 19 degrees was hopeless in bringing the temperature down quickly and effectively, and the window only opened a tiny bit. We are still waiting for someone to explain to us why hotels still have winter weight quilts on beds in the summer…we seem to spend more time sleeping on them than under them!!!! Unfortunately this hotel is probably not an option for those on a limited budget.
When I first relocated to Ireland, as part of my company's package, I stayed at the Maryborough for 1 month. The gym, spa and breakfast were included which were all excellent. The staff is incredibly accommodating when it comes to meals, guest experiences, and throwing in the occasional complimentary service. This was back in March 2024. I figured since I had gotten my start in Ireland at Maryborough and the staff were so accommodating, I would also propose to my now fiancée there. I called ahead and the staff were incredible when it came to capturing the moment during a 'guided tour of the grounds.' One of the staff, Johannes, did an excellent job of giving the tour and picking a great spot at which to pop the question, then recording the event and sending over the video. The staff also included a complimentary bottle of champagne with strawberries and some free cocktails. Overall, it was an excellent night and an excellent 1 month stay back in March 2024. I highly recommend Johannes when it comes to guest experiences. I plan to use the Maryborough for future events and would recommend them.
