This is an almost new hotel right next to the highway with clean and comfortable rooms. Staff are super helpful, polite and efficient. This brand is pretty awesome with free breakfast, that has a good selection of hot and cold options. A bar onsite and despite being close to a busy highway was surprisingly quiet
My husband, myself, and my 9 year old needed a hotel due to Hurricane Beryl. We decided on the Tru at around Rock as we had previously stayed there before and always liked it. This time was no different. The woman at check in on July 8th was such a sweetheart! She gave us recommendations for food and even some coupons for nearby restaurants. We had a two queen bed room. The room was cleaned really well, and the bed was super comfy! We were on the fourth floor, and we didn’t really hear any noise. Breakfast was a bit meh. The last few times we had been at this Tru location, there was cut fruit. The only fruit available was just a whole apple. I had only oatmeal which was a good texture. Husband said the sausage and eggs weren’t very good, so he ended up throwing his away and just got toast instead. My 9 year old did enjoy the pancakes though. He liked being able to put chocolate syrup on them as well as Oreo pieces. They also had sprinkled and caramel but he didn’t want that. There were one type of muffins available, four choices of cereal, two juices available but no water, bagels, and English muffins. I think that was about it for breakfast. I can’t remember if yogurt was available or not. On the plus side, the woman in charge of breakfast was nice, and she was always keeping everything g topped up if it needed it. Checkout was easy, and the woman at the front desk at checkout was nice too. We’ll definitely always stay at this hotel when we’re in Round Rock.
Booked this hotel with a large group of families for a soccer tournament in Austin. Made reservation several weeks before. While traveling to Austin the day of check-in the hotel canceled our reservation saying that the credit card use to reserve was not valid (it had been compromised). Hotel admittedly did not contact us or the soccer club to notify us of the cancellation. When we checked-in they said we would have to pay full daily rate and would not fix the situation for us - they later admitted they could have charged the discounted reservation rate but desk clerk chose not to do so and it was her discretion what to charge. Front desk suggested we talk to a manager - we went to front desk multiple times during that Holiday weekend and were told there was no manager on duty who could handle the situation. We called the soccer club travel agency and they did not receive notification of cancellation either. After repeated attempts to contact the hotel after the trip we finally reached the group sales manager (hotel manager never did respond to messages). Sales mgr cited the fine print in the soccer travel agreement that gave hotel the right to cancel any reservation on check-in day and charge full rate, etc. We asked for a discount on our payment since the rate we reserved was much less and there was obviously a problem with the compromised credit card and the hotel did not notify us of the cancellation. Also, whereas hotels normally hold the card for reservation - this hotel wanted to charge the card on check-in day rather than just address the problem when we checked-in. There was no general manger on duty for (3) days which is concerning for many other reasons and a liability for the hotel. The dead bolt on the room door did not work and we asked for repair of that and it was not repaired. Given the situation I asked the hotel just to help us out and discount the room to the rate we reserved or give is a discount on a future stay or anything to help, I was told they would check and call me back and never heard anything. So (40) soccer families stayed in this hotel for (3) nights and one family was charged a much higher rate than the other (39),
Mostly a good experience. I found the hotel to be clean and the room was quiet. However the pillows (all eight of them) were lumpy and uncomfortable and the breakfast was disappointing- not much of a choice other then cereal. You have to drive around the building before you find the main parking lot.
I lived here for three nights using Marriott Bonvoy rewards while visiting friends in the area. The property has a very distinct odor when entering the building and the room. Its an old property desperately in need of a Property Iimprovement and an active preventative maintenance program. Not sure if it's a supply issue, but the room did not meet RI standards in towels, face cloths, hand towels, silverware, and dishes. Marriott 15 years with 1639 night stays, IHG 17 years 1800+ night stays, Raddisson, Hyatt. Living the hotel life.
AAstro78704I spent a couple of nights at this Motel 6 in October 2023 when I was in town day surgery. I needed some help with storing my luggage the day I checked out (had to go back into Austin to get checked over by the surgeon) and they could not have been nicer or more efficient. And the general tone of politeness by the front desk staff is greatly appreciated. About the rooms, fully up to standard for this class of hotel. Clean, comfortable, convenient, tremendously less expensive than other alternatives for ACL weekend.
