HoYoVerse has announced the launch Astral Canival, which is Genshin Impact‘s first official international Genius Invokation Tournament series. This tournament will take place during the latter half of 2023.
Players from across the globe are welcome to participate and compete in Astral Carnival, consisting of six regional championships and a number of invitational tournaments, and share the prize pool of over US$270,000.
The State of Genius Invokation
With the most recent Version 3.7 update last week, developers have added over 60 new cards and two game modes to Genius Invokation.
Earlier this year, Genshin Impact authorized the Genshin Impact Tavern community to launch the first season of “Cat’s Tail Gathering” GITCG Tournament, a community tournament system on Discord.
Astral Carnival Regional Tournament Dates
The “Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup” was announced as an advanced tournament to bring together talented players from different areas and provide fun for its community. Currently, the Prince Cup consists of two parts: six regional tournaments happening between June to September, plus three cross-regional invitationals in June, August, and December.
The first regional tournament will take in Korea starting 11th June 2023, followed by other countries and regions. The regional tournament finals dates are as follows:
- Korea, 11th June 2023
- Europe, 16th June 2023
- North America, 17th June 2023
- Japan, 16th July 2023
- Latin America, 3rd September 2023
- SEA / Hong Kong / Macao / Taiwan, 17th September 2023
In each regional, top candidates from the “Cat’s Tail Gathering” community tournaments and wildcard competitions will compete for the regional championship, and players who advance to the quarter-finals will compete on-site, with the live broadcast on the official AstraCarnival Twitter, YouTube, Twitch and TikTok channel.
Astral Carnival Invitational Tournament Dates
Top regional candidates as well as top community tournament candidates may also get invited to the Astral Carnival invitationals and take part in exhibition games for the international audience.
The invitational tournament finals dates are as follows:
- Invitational Season 1, 18th June 2023
- Invitational Season 2, 13th August 2023
- Invitational Season 3, December 2023
Expansion of Local Non-Official Genius Invokation TCG Tournaments
Besides, fans, gamers, and interested third parties may now register their own non-official Genius Invokation TCG tournament and get support and guidance from HoYoverse.
