Thai-Australian boy fatally stabbed in Sattahip village
A tragic incident unfolded yesterday when a 14 year old Thai-Australian boy was fatally stabbed in the back in a village in Sattahip, Chon Buri. The boy managed to run to a local shop but collapsed and died from his injuries. His 50 year old mother was left in shock and grief upon receiving the devastating news.
Police Lieutenant Santi Chon Humart, who is in charge of the investigation, received the report at 8.31pm, yesterday, December 10. The incident occurred outside a grocery store in Village 10, Bang Sare subdistrict, Sattahip district. The police, led by Police Colonel Thanapon Klin Kasorn, rushed to the scene along with rescue teams.
The boy was found lying on the steps of the shop, wearing a black round-neck shirt and elephant-print shorts. A sharp knife was still lodged in his back, almost piercing through to his chest. The knife handle, broken, was found on the road in front of the shop. His mother and sister were present at the scene, visibly distraught.
“I saw him leave to play in the village but I didn’t know when he went to the shop. He mentioned having issues with a senior student from the same school. My son was in Year 1, and the other boy was in Year 2.”
The mother added that she was soon informed of her son’s tragic fate outside the shop.
A security guard at the village gate reported seeing the boy leave alone around 8pm. Approximately 20 minutes later, the boy returned, seeking help at the shop but was unable to speak before collapsing. Despite the guard’s quick action to call for rescue services, the boy succumbed to his injuries before help could arrive, reported KhaoSod.
The investigative team is actively pursuing the suspect to bring them to justice swiftly. The boy’s body was sent to the hospital for further examination before being returned to his family for funeral rites.
Police are working diligently to ensure the perpetrator is apprehended and justice is served.
