JIND: A brick was allegedly thrown into the rear windshield of an SUV that was part of the cavalcade of Jannayak Janta Party leader Dushyant Chautala while he was campaigning in his constituency, Uchana Kalan, police said on Tuesday.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday evening when the vehicle was parked and unoccupied, as the cavalcade had paused during a roadshow.
Dushyant Chautala is contesting the October 5 Haryana polls in alliance with Chandra Shekhar Azad's Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), and both leaders were campaigning together in Uchana at the time of the incident.
Pawan Kumar, the SHO of Uchana Police Station, confirmed that the vehicle had a scratch mark and a broken rear windshield.
Police also reported that earlier on Monday, a 74-year-old Uchana resident had engaged in an argument with Dushyant during the campaign after asking him some questions.
A case has been registered by the police, and they plan to question the senior citizen who has been named in the complaint, according to the SHO.
