NEW DELHI: A thick fog blanketed New Delhi on Sunday morning as the city experienced a cold spell. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius in the capital.

Due to the cold wave and foggy conditions, several flights at IGI Airport were delayed, and many trains faced disruptions.

IMD has warned of a wet spell in the city, predicting thunderstorms and hail later in the day.
On January 11, light rain brought the temperature in Delhi down to 7.7 degrees Celsius, according to IMD.
Dense fog was not limited to Delhi and the National Capital Region, as cities like Kanpur and Gwalior also reported similar conditions.
IMD data showed that Delhi’s temperature was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning.
