4 killed, 2 missing as vehicle plunges into a J&K river

JAMMU: Four people, all in their twenties, died and two went missing Sunday morning when their speeding Bolero rolled down a deep gorge in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
It was a case of rash and negligent driving, and the driver lost control when he reached near Sanyas Paddar. A team rushed from Atholi police station to rescue those missing.
Union minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who is Udhampur MP, expressed his grief on X: “Saddened to learn just now that 4 of the passengers travelling in the vehicle have been found dead on the spot. Two other persons, including the driver, are not traced as yet. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families.”
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “Pained by the loss of lives due to a tragic road accident in Kishtwar. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones.”
The deceased have been identified as Raj Kumar (22), Mukash Kumar (20), Haqiqat Singh (28), and Satish Kumar (26), all residents of Garh Padder. Driver Sahil Kumar, who also owns the vehicle, and one Navrattan, are missing, police said.
