The Money in the Bank is a wonderful concept when it comes to the world of professional wrestling and in the WWE. In this concept, eight wrestlers battle it out in a ladder match to get their hands on a briefcase which has a contract that they can cash in any time they want on one of the two major
WWE titles in the company.
This tradition has been in effect for a while now, and is prevalent in the Women’s division also. There’s been multiple successful cash-ins, but most of them have happened at Premium Live Events, previously known as PPVs. However, some have also happened on Monday Night RAW, which is one of the two main shows for the Stamford-based promotion.
So, here’s a list of all the best cash-ins that have happened on WWE RAW so far.
Best Money in the Bank cash-ins on WWE RAW
While there have been multiple cash-ins on Monday Night RAW in the WWE, not all of them are memorable. Here’s a list of the most memorable ones that have happened on the event so far.
CM Punk 2008 RAW
cm punk cashes in money in the bank vs Edge
CM Punk, during his first run with the company, cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Edge in 2008. Punk proceeded to win the match and secured the title for himself. This match cash-in is memorable for two basic reasons. The first is that this victory helped CM Punk solidify himself as one of the top wrestlers in the company. And secondly, it was poetic justice. Edge cashed in his contract on fallen opponents on two separate occasions, so having his title taken away from him in the same way is nothing short of poetic.
Dolph Ziggler 2013 RAW
Dolph Ziggler cashes in Money in the Bank to become World Heavyweight Champion: Raw, April 8, 2013
Dolph Ziggler is an amazing wrestler in the WWE but he didn’t get a lot of limelight. Back in 2013, he made a strong statement when he won the WWE Heavyweight Championship off Alberto Del Rio, which brought the crowd on his side too. Unfortunately, however, he lost the title to Del Rio again two months later, which made his reign extremely short. Despite that, his cash-in was an opportunistic one, but extremely memorable.
Big E 2021 RAW
Big E cashes in his Money in the Bank contract on Bobby Lashley: Raw, Sept. 13, 2021
Apart from Xavier Woods, both Big E and Kofi Kingston have had their runs as the WWE Champion. Big E won the title in 2021, which was a well deserved victory. He picked up the title from Bobby Lashley, who has always been a powerhouse no matter which promotion he’s associated with. This cash-in took place on WWE RAW, after Bobby Lashley had successfully defended the title once. After Big E cashed in, it was expected that the fight would be easy, but that wasn’t the case. Lashley still had a lot of fight in him, but eventually lost the bout, dropping the belt to Big E.
