🌍 KOTAS 2024: Tunisia 🇹🇳 & Korea 🇰🇷 – The third edition of KOTAS close off with a visit to Novation City in Sousse, bringing Tunisian and Korean startups together to explore new tech opportunities. Focused on Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Climate Technology, and Culture, KOTAS 2024 offered a practical setting for startups to connect, exchange ideas, and lay the groundwork for partnerships. Thanks to the support of key partners, including the Korean Embassy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in Korea, KISED (Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development), the Korea-Tunisia Digital Government Cooperation Center, The Dot, NOVATION CITY, and Tunisia's Ministry of Communication Technologies, KOTAS was able to deliver real collaboration opportunities for attendees. ✨ Highlights from KOTAS 2024: Congrats to sector winners: Herobee (AI & Robotics), ProVerdy (Climate Tech), and Historiar (Culture) 👏 Over 10 MOUs signed, setting a solid foundation for Tunisian-Korean startup and venture capital partnerships. The ‘2024 Korea-Tunisia-Africa Business Forum (Exhibition and Business Matching)’ was successfully held from June 11 to June 14 at the Laico Hotel in Tunis, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tunisia. A total of 12 Korean companies in the fields of medical devices, cosmetics, processed food products, and second-hand cars participated in this forum, which was sponsored by KOTRA and the Tunisian-Korean Chamber of Commerce. Korean companies displayed their products at the ‘7th Financing Investment and Trade in Africa'* (FITA 2024, June 11-12, Tunis) exhibition hall on June 11 and 12, and 30 to 50 instant consultations were held for each company. On June 13, a total of 90 customized business matching sessions were held with 37 local buyers under the management of KOTRA Algiers Office. Networking between Korean companies and leading Tunisian businessmen (June 13) and visits to local buyers (June 14) were also organised. * Financing Investment and Trade in Africa (FITA) is an event held annually under the sponsorship of the Tunisian government to realize Tunisia's status as an trade and investment hub in Africa. This year, about 1,000 people from 65 countries in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East participated in FITA 2024, and international financial institutions such as the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the African Development Bank (AfDB) also participated. According to KOTRA's Algiers office, the total consultation amount from business matching sessions on June 13 amounted to $5.232 million for contracts that can be realized within one year and $48.544 million for contracts that can be reviewed over a three-year period. Additionally, during the forum period, six bisiness MOUs were signed, and one sample export was concluded. The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tunisia is hosting the Korea-Tunisia-Africa Business Forum starting in 2022 to support Korean companies entering Tunisia and Africa, and this year marks its third year. As a follow-up of the 'Korea-Africa Summit 2024' (June 4 ~ 5, Ilsan KINTEX), this year's forum was planned to link with FITA 2024, in which businessmen from all over the African continent participate, in order to highlight the achievements of the Summit. Nam Hyuk KIM, CFA, Organizer of this forum said, "This forum is the first of its kind where Korean businesses participated solely based on their commercial interests in Tunisia and Africa, differing from the previous ones related to the hosting of the World Expo. I look forward to harvesting the fruits of consultations among Korea-Tunisia-African businesses as a result of the success of the forum."

This third annual forum, a follow-up to the 'Korea-Africa Summit 2024,' aimed to strengthen ties between Korean, Tunisian, and African businesses. La 3ème édition du Forum d'affaires Corée-Tunisie-Afrique 2024 s'est déroulée du 11 au 14 juin à l'hôtel Laico à Tunis, organisée par l'Ambassade de Corée en Tunisie, la KOTRA et la Chambre de commerce tuniso-coréenne. L'événement a vu la participation de 12 entreprises coréennes spécialisées dans les appareils médicaux, les cosmétiques, les aliments transformés et les voitures d'occasion, Points forts Exposition à FITA 2024 (11-12 juin) : Les entreprises coréennes ont présenté leurs produits, ce qui a donné lieu à 30 à 50 consultations par entreprise. Rencontres B2B et réseautage / Visites (13-14 juin)) : 90 sessions personnalisées avec 37 acheteurs locaux, gérées par KOTRA Alger, ont été conclues. Le forum a débouché sur six protocoles d'accord et un échantillon d'accord d'exportation. Ce troisième forum annuel, qui fait suite au "Sommet Corée-Afrique 2024", visait à renforcer les liens entre les entreprises coréennes, tunisiennes et africaines.
