Amal Healing and Advocacy Center (AHAC) is an organization led by women who specialize in empowering women and raising their capabilities to create a safe society for women who enjoy their full rights without discrimination or violence through: - Contribute to making a change in the status of women in Syrian society by increasing their awareness of their rights and opportunities through advocacy campaigns, awareness-raising sessions, and meetings with decision-makers and key and influential people, whether in the refugee community or inside Syria. - Providing psychosocial support services, and safe spaces for women, girls, and children to carry out social activities that relieve life stresses due to asylum. -Providing specialized legal services for women affected by violence in all its forms, especially in times of wars and crises, survivors of detention and sexual violence, families of victims of enforced disappearance, and victims of human rights violations in all their forms. - Carrying out capacity-building activities and empowering women whether in the political, legal, administrative, or professional fields, to be able to truly participate in public affairs or at the family level. The aim is to build a Syrian society based on justice, equality, and rights for all individuals, especially women and marginalized groups, including those with disabilities and those affected by violations, and respond in particular to their needs related to psychological and social support and legal advice. The organization was established in 2014 by Türkiye/Antakya which hosts a large number of refugees. Vision AHAC strives for a world in which the voices of Syrian women are raised and heard to achieve equality in human rights and social justice. Mission AHAC works with and for Syrian women to advocate, network, and empower women to build a peaceful society, where all people live in dignity and safety.
