Our team has contributed to the sixth edition of Global Arbitration Review’s "Guide to Damages in International Arbitration" with an insight article exploring the principles and practices of full compensation in international arbitration. Co-authored by Dr. Mehmet Karli, Selim Can Bilgin, Alp Özzeybek, and Metehan Motugan, this article addresses essential issues such as: 🔹 The foundational principles of full compensation across domestic and international legal systems 🔹 Causality and foreseeability as determinants of compensation 🔹 Applications of the UNIDROIT Principles in commercial arbitrations 🔹 The International Law Commission’s ARSIWA and its role in investment arbitration Drawing on international standards, the article examines the practical application of full compensation in arbitration and the case law that shapes these principles in disputes involving both private parties and states.
